Darn my nails! I got tips put on for the wedding, and I'm having a hard time typing as fast as usual.

Hi everyone! Just checking in this morning to see what's going on. We're having my DH's family Christmas party here this afternoon, since his mom went into an assisted living in January. It should be fun!

Morning everyone, glad to see we are all here and the thread is in one piece . Well I was trying to get my last post in we were all trying to bump and at 9:06 clicked post and it said the boards were down being upgrade and should be back up between 2-3 am. It is faster signing in, now I will have to see how quick when I click post.

Wow, what a big difference so far. This is great...except now I won't have time to get another cup of coffee while a new page loads.

So what did everyone do last night while the boards were down? I decided to finally start organizing all my photos on the computer. What a mess that was. It was worse than cleaning the house.

i know you talked about freezing ham a few days back (i've really been missing from my favorite thread for a WHILE) - i just wanted to add, i always freeze the ham slices in one bag, then i put the entire hambone, plus a ton of extra meat on it, in foil, then a bag and freeze it. then i can use the hambone and meat for the most excellent split pea soup. i'm NOT a fan of ham, but i absolutely adore this recipe for soup. come to think of it, i got it from a disney cookbook online somewhere. mmmm, just thinking about it makes my mouth water!!

well i'm off to put together a million toys!

I love, Love, LOVE split pea soup. My grandfather used to make the best, and I've never been able to compare. If you have a "most excellent" recipe, I'd love to give it a try. Up for sharing?

dreamin' - I'm so sorry about the Christmas debacle. I kept seeing it referenced, but I must have missed that page when I was catching up. I finally went back thru so I wouldn't be out of the loop. I'm SO glad you guys didn't let it ruin your Christmas. Kudos!

I do feel sorry for your brother, as others have said, but I'm glad you guys still talk and such. So often a situation like that just tears families apart. And, I'm glad you have reached a decision about SIL not going on vacation with you. Its always tough, and its good to have that kind of closure. I hope everybody has a blast!
