Happy Christmas everyone! I'm sure those of you with little ones have been up for hours already and have opened the goodies that Santa brought. I hope that those of you welcoming family and friends over for holiday celebrations have a good memorable time with minimal issues. I hope that those of you who have been preparing, cooking, planning, and organizing have a wonderfully satisfying holiday.

We attended midnight mass and there's is nothing more beautiful than the Nativity story by candlelight. Its so very humbling and wonderous. Welcome Baby Jesus!

For all my dear Dis friends, have an enjoyable holiday. Enjoy your goodies, take lots of pictures, and indulge just a little. Thank you all for joining me on this thread. To think how far we've come. I posted my whiney TKer a few months ago and I never imagined that I would meet such kind hearted people who I've come to know and enjoy being part of each others lives.

Ploto...welcome to our thread. I hope that continue to join us and share this wonderful experience. It truly is life changing and is a bright spot in my day. It has renewed my faith in people, has enforced my policy to extend multiple kindnesses whenever possible and has enabled me to become more comfortable here on the Dis. I've learned so much and become such a better Diser!

Happy holidays everyone. Cyber hugs and best wishes from me to you.

Lighttech - I feel your apin my sister! I have a 4 yr old DD who makes me want to scream one minute and makes my heart nearly burst with love the next. It's amazing how someone so small can affect you so much. Some days she makes me think I'm going to lose my mind and some days she is so sweet, I know I don't deserve her. Sometimes, when she is really driving me nuts, I just grab her and hug her for as long as she'll let me. It really helps me. I don't do it when she's misbehaving. Don't want to encourage bad habits, just when she's semi-innocently driving me nuts. Does that make sense? Anyway, good luck to you. With the behavior and the bodily fluids.:rotfl:

:rotfl: :rotfl: Yes, I do that too! DS is in a "Why?" phase at the moment, and sometimes when I just don't think I can possibly explain one more thing, I just laugh and say "Why?Why?Why?" and give him the biggest hug I can. Sometimes he giggles and squirms away, sometimes he just keeps asking questions into my shoulder, and sometimes he hugs me back or says "I love you Mommy!" Either way, it doesn't matter. He's my most precious gift. (Naughty or Nice.... and, I gotta say there's a LOT more nice.)

I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday. Ours was crazy, but grand none-the-less. Like most of you, we're on a budget, but DS got more than spoiled from the grandparents, and we had a blast putting out cookies for Santa, etc. this year as DS is starting to understand. (It still took a while to explain that Santa wasn't coming for a visit... just to drop off presents. DS kept asking things like "Will Santa read me my story tonight?" or "Can I eat cookies with Santa." :) ) But, he got the concept, and was SO excited that Santa had come and eaten the cookies and left him a note, etc.

Well, back the grind. I was in at 7:30 this morning, and I left what looked like a kitchen ransacked by a holiday tornado at home, but for all the mess, I'm blessed I had a family to share it with. (And, I don't think I'll have to cook for days with all the leftovers! )

Merry Day After Christmas and an early Happy New Year.

Merry Christmas to all! Haven't been on, I think in a week:eek:. I have checked the thread real quick, but the Christmas craziness, did not allow for me to post. I missed so much. Last we left, DS's Christmas pag. last Tues. was really cute, he was sick prior but better for Tues. then I got sick, then DD, so Thursday Drs. for DD, mine called in medicine for me. Just what we need the week before Christmas, instead of being out shopping, cleaning and wrapping making trips to Drs. My computer started giving me problems too, very strange but you know how you get emails in inbox that a reply has been posted to the thread?? Well for days there was none of that in my inbox for this thread:confused3. so I would try to go on and saw post:rotfl2:. Maybe this was God's way, since he knew if I checked my email and went into the thread I would be on for hours:rotfl:. I still haven't figured it out, but today there was a email a for tk'ers:confused3. :grouphug: to all who have suffered losses and are feeling down w/loved ones who are ill. Welcome to the new Tk'ers who have found this wonderful thread. A big Thank you to magikitty for starting this thread:dance3::cheer2: . I really, don't bother with many others, I'll check out some maybe a post (of course if there are no replies, I reply so they don't suffer what we all have been through:rotfl:). So now, the day after is so calming just sort of a lazy day of course we have New Years coming up and then for me my DS's birthday is Jan 5! Did start making my dis reservations for next year:woohoo:. I'm a DVC member and since it's been more and more difficult to get ressie's I'm booking day by day on my 11 month window. This will be the first time we will go for Thanksgiving, but since it comes late next year and my B-day is a couple of days after, and then the first few days of Dec. (which is when we like to go). We though, hey why not!:dance3: Enjoy your day, TK'ers talk to you later!:santa:

Hi Disney54. Glad to see you made it through. :thumbsup2 . I am back at work today...YUCK. I am absolutly bored to tears!! Hardly anyone is here and the accounting system (I'm a buyer...need it lol) is down for maintenance AGAIN!!!!

Guess I will just have to hang around DIS all day and do nothing. Even my boss agrees haha. :rotfl:

Thanks, I think the day after Christmas should be a legal holiday!! It's true usually no one is around. So, enjoy hanging on the boards:thumbsup2.

I'm with you. Slow around here, everyone else seems to have decided to use up vacation time, but I'm saving mine for early in the year when babysitter will be on vacation, and I'll be home with DS. Plus, it is live tv, somebody has to be around...

Good luck staying busy and passing the time.

hi everyone!!
i'm still not even going to be able to catch up, but wanted to say merry belated christmas!! i miss you all so much, and i still have so much to do with my dad and my sister and her family are in, too. i hope i'll get to catch up tonight!
can't wait to talk again soon!

Lookie what I just found on the Community Board. Looks like we're a lot less alone than I thought...

(They don't have fancy tags in their signature's though...;) )

I've seen that thread. I didn't want to check it out because there were so many replies. Did you check out the original post date? It was in 2003. I guess thread killing is a common past time. :rotfl2:

I haven't check the thread yet, but today I notice (and I would think it is the same one) a thread w/43,000 + post!!! Has anyone noticed, we have 900+ post?:dance3: :cool1: Way to Go!

Alright so much for my lazy day after Christmas (read earlier post), after that post went to do a few things and DD went to go tanning. Yes, I know not big on it, but she was working and they have stand up booths w/ less dangerous UV rays and I make her wear sunscreen. She doesn't overdo it, so anyway, her BF picks her up to take her and about a half hour later my cell rings and it's her ringtone when I answer it's her BF, saying Mrs. ___, she's okay now but she passed out and the EMT's are here! He told me again she's okay, I told him I'll be right there. EMT's and Police were there, she was feeling better and we thought we would forgo a ER visit and contact her Drs. We sat for a while and she felt weak again, and started getting cold (it was very warm in the place). we tried Gatorade, but in the end we decided to call them back and have her checked out at the ER. She of course is embarrassed being taken out in a stretcher, the EMT's were very funny and told her that they would put her name up for all to see:rotfl:. We lucked out the ER wasn't to busy and they monitored her and made sure she had fluids etc. and felt she was okay to be sent home. So here we are and so much for that lazy day after Christmas. Waiting for DM, DS and my DS who decided to sleep over Grandma's last night to get here. Hope you all had a less eventful day:goodvibes.

OMG disney54us!! How scary! How is DD doing now? Do they think it was from the tanning booth? I'm sure she was mortified going out by stretcher.:rotfl: I used to do EMS and remember well the times we had to take a teen girl to the hospital. One even made us cover up her head so she could hide--people thought we had a corpse!!:rotfl2:

Hope things settle down for you after all that excitement.

WE spent our day in our jammies playing with all the new "toys". The kids are LOVING the Wii, and I have to admit I find it quite fun too! Between that and all the new games for the DS and PSP, and the new DVDs, they'll be kept busy for months! Not to mention all of DSs new LEGOS. I got tons of DVDs--Season 3 of Grey's Anatomy (my to die for favorite show!), and Seasons 1-5 of Law and Order SVU. Add that to my "gift" to myself, of the entire series of "Keeping Up Appearances" (a hysterical BBC show), and the 5 seasons of Everybody Loves Raymond that I already had, and the entire set of "The Avengers" that my Dad passed on to me, and I've got ALOT of DVD watching to do!!! Which is a good thing, since I will be having rotator cuff surgery in February or March, and won't be able to do much laptop time. Even reading will be hard--how do you hold a book and turn the pages with just one hand? So all the DVDs will save me from utter boredom.

Tomorrow the kids are with their father again, so I have a day all to myself with NOTHING that I have to do! OMG, I'm not sure how to handle it! I NEVER get a real day "off". There are always things that have to be done. But not tomorrow. I may just put up my feet and read all day long. Ahhhh, pure joy! Ha! Knowing me, I'll FIND things that need to be done. I'm not one who is good at just sitting still and relaxing. I'm always on the go.

Well, hope everyone is enjoying the holiday week, and that all of our kids behave and don't drive us too crazy while they are off from school!:lmao:

She's doing fine, Thanks. Too funny, I'm sure you have seen it all if you were a EMT. The funny thing is the shopping plaza is right behind her HS, so during school, they are all up there. There is a pizza place, a Friendly's so basically it's a local hang out. That's why she was thankful that it was Christmas Vac. and also why the EMT's teased her that she could cover her face but they would put her name up on the side of the ambulance:rotfl:. My dad loved Everybody Loves Raymond, he's gone now but every time I see that show I can still see him watching it:love: My DD is a huge L&O SVU, I use to watch the original all the time, but she got hooked on SVU, even got her to thinking criminal law. Rotator cuff?? What are they doing to you?? and how long is recovery? Keep us posted and remember there's this thing (remember I am computer slow), but my GF had one when she had wrist surgery and I think you can speak and it types for you:cool1:, I don't thing it was to costly, but I don't know much about this techno stuff:confused3. Keep all of us informed, you know you have :grouphug: and prayers from all your fellow TK'ers:goodvibes.

Been busy just saying HI!

We all have been, nice to see us all starting to be able to check in and catch up:). Okay, and since we are all getting a few, I've been meaning to ask. MagiKitty, where is the destination wedding?? I don't know if you can share or feel comfortable (which is okay:grouphug:). Just wondering, since those of us in the NE, & MW will most likely have snow sleet ice :sad2: , at least we could know what great sun and beach you are enjoying:goodvibes .

hey there all you killers! i FINALLY caught up. phew!! so now i don't have time to write anything - isn't that ironic?

couldn't agree more with all of you - crazy family at the holidays, kids like little angels one second, total devil the next, but mostly thankful for a great thread like this one to come to vent, and just be ourselves.

i'm looking forward to participating around here rather than just reading. i had so much i would've commented on, but now it's so old for all of you so i'll just wait til the next subject to catch my eye.

also, thanks to everyone thinking of us and my dad over the last week or so. we needed it. he's doing much better, and he'll be splitting the time between my brother's place and mine. i'm the baby of the family (at 34!), and i definitely seem to be taking it the hardest. thanks again, everyone!

I did see the date... and the long list of participants. Something to aspire to. :goodvibes
That's right, you work for QVC?? Don't you?
:
Yup I do.

I was a little nervous checking it. One TK on another TK post... might open some kind of pardoxical window or something...

Hope DD is feeling better. Too funny what you worry about when you're a teen! I'm so not ready for DS to start growing up.

hey there all you killers!

also, thanks to everyone thinking of us and my dad over the last week or so. we needed it. he's doing much better, !

Glad your Dad is feeling better.

Woo Hoo! I just cut and pasted code to not only multi-quote, but break up disney54us's quote so I could respond to bits and pieces!

I'm so proud of me! (Gosh... I think I just quoted my sons potty book.) :rotfl:

Hello dear friends! I can't believe its all over already! Was a wonderful quiet Christmas...now just have to do all my running around in prep for my vacation! Mom and I are supposed to head over to the Philippines next Tuesday, only our tickets are as far as Korea! We've been waitlisted. I keep joking that I'm taking a two week vacation in Korea...no one else finds it funny. At this point, its really in God's hands. I need two people to cancel from Seoul to Manila so I can attend this wedding. I need :pixiedust:! I want warmth, beach, and mangoes!

d54...how scary for you! Glad to hear DD is doing better...thank goodness that her BF was there to help! I think its kinda funny to be a teenager (ah, that was SO long ago!) to be embarrassed about being carried out on a stretcher rather than the very scary incident of passing out! I'm so jealous about your DVD loot, what a wonderful way to spend the time! You better post all you can before that surgery...if I'm not around, good luck and happy recovery.

whgrn...I hope you find a completely unproductive thoroughly enjoyable and indulgent way to spend your day. Have you seen the BBC series Coupling? Its for a more mature audience, its only three seasons, but it is SO SO funny. If you get BBCAmerica on your cable, its usually on 10p EST. I highly recommend it.

mags...so glad to hear the holidays went well and that your Dad is doing so much better.

lighttech...how's work going? I LOVE QVC, which my BF doesn't understand, but I just find it so enjoyable. So glad to hear you're part of another one of my guilty pleasures! and congrats of the multi-quote--exhilarating, isn't it?

hey there again Blamemysister!

Now its off to do post-holiday errands...returns, post office, bank. Trying desperately to avoid the mall--but I bet there are some great sales going on! I have to stock up on kitty materials--my father's going to take care of the little herd. I hope everyone survives. But now I have to venture to Walmart and fill my cart with cat food stuff. Its so embarrassing. I am the scary cat lady. How did that happen?

Have a good day everyone! See ya later!

Disney54us- I hope your daughter is felling better!
magsden- I'm glad your father is feeling better. :goodvibes
whgrn- It sounds like you'll have plenty of entertainment during your recovery. :)
MagiKitty- I am hoping you get to Manila in time!

MagiKitty - Here's hopin' they get those planes flyin'. Let us know. I hope you have a blast at the wedding!

Hi...just checking in. I see Christmas was eventful for many of you. Christmas was very nice at our house. The first Christmas w/o dad was tough, but we made it through. Mom stayed with us for a few days so as not to be alone on Christmas eve. She's a trooper!!

I have also been avoiding the stores but am very curious to see what types of sales are out there. Anyone find any good after Christmas bargins? I may venture into the mall this weekend as we are supposed to get MORE SNOW tonight and through tomorrow. :cold: I'm getting a little tired of this.:headache: Every weekend since Dec. 1 it has snowed. Not just a little snow, but enough to be a pain driving and shoveling/plowing. I long for the days when I can live 6 mo. in FL and 6 mo. here in WI. Only about 30 yrs until retirement.
