I feel your pain. I have 4 of my own and at this point, I am ready to cancel Christmas all together for them. When people ask me why my hair is grey, I point to each of the kids. It's mostly the oldest who gives us the most problems. We are past the point of normal punishments and onto the innovative type now. Hopefully one day, he wil learn. And since there was no school today, it's twice as bad.

I HAVE cancelled Christmas already! As of now, there will be no presents at our house this year. Santa has been told to skip us. Just coal for their stockings, thank you. I am just sick to death of my kids (esp. DS) being so nasty and disrespectful to each other and me. To me, giving them Christmas is like rewarding bad behavior. My mom totally agrees, but my Dad, surprisingly, says I can't take it away totally because that would be cruel.:confused3 Oh, and the way they treat me isn't cruel? They destroyed my birthday already--I literally spent the day in tears. They will NOT spoil Christmas too!

I came up with a point system (it worked really well a few years ago when they wanted a Nintendo DS). They can earn 5 points each morning, afternoon and evening, for doing what they are supposed to do without giving me trouble, fighting, etc. If they get all 3 in one day, they get 5 bonus points. There are 10 days until Christmas. If they get 75 points, we will have Christmas. If not, well, they'll wait until they do! Considering they could get as much as 200 points in that time, I think 75 is more than fair.

Soooo...anyone searching for a Wii?? Anyone know where I can return a whole bunch of Will games that I have no idea where I got them? The new TV can sit in storage as long as necessary. And the other gifts? Well, DS's birthday is in 6 weeks, so I can recycle his stuff. But DD? I have no clue. Actually, the most likely thing will be that DD gets Christmas and DS does not. So she and I will be in there playing the Wii with the new TV and the games, and he'll be in his room having a meltdown. (As he is doing right now just THINKING about this whole thing.)

I need to drink. Heavily. Into oblivion. Oh, wait, I forgot. I don't drink. Darn!

Ok, then, I need chocolate!

Somebody rescue me, please??????

I've found my home!! I never knew what a thread killer was, but after reading several pages of this thread, I am a thread killer! Woo Hoo!

Can I join? Pretty, pretty please? I promise I'm not mean, I play well with others, I mind my manners, and I'm funny. (Well, funny looking, but since you can't see me, just assume I mean funny!)

:welcome: Everybody is welcome here. This is a great place to hang out and chat. You'll have a great time here.

haha. Ain't parenting grand??? lol. I have two teenagers (older teens now) but I was starting to wonder if we were going to make it through the "Tween" years with my sanity in tact.

Hang in there!! Remember: In through the nose, out through the mouth. ;) I was just telling a girl at work the other day that just had a baby (two days old and TOO CUTE) "watch out, we are not sure how it happens but those things turn in to teenagers :scared1: " They should really warn women that labor is the easy part.

BTW, Lindt makes a really good chocolate. :rolleyes1

Good Morning TK. I am sitting here this morning waiting for the contractors to come back. We are having the rest of the sheet rock put up in our basement. They worked all day yesterday. If you want to see pictures of before just click below in my signature and read my latest post. I'll have a lot of painting to do when they are finished. A big job but a fun one for me.

I have lost 2 more pounds. I am actually wearing some shorts I haven't been able to fit into in about a year. The weather here has been nice and warm this week but it's suppose to cool down this weekend. I hate cold weather. I tell my DH I will follow him anywhere----South. We are in GA and that is far enough North for me. I must have very thin blood or something.

Hope everybody is doing great today. :hippie:

Yay you on two more pounds!!!!! I know how you feel about the cold...yuck lol. It has been in the high 70's here...works for me lol. We will get cold next week, so I hear. 39 degrees one day :scared1:

Hi everyone! Thanks for the warm welcomes! Now, I have 60 pages of posts so I can get to know you!

Schmu:cheer2: 2 pounds :cheer2: I hate the cold weather too. We are saving up to move to Florida in a couple of years. DH's brother lives near Tampa so that's where we are heading as soon as possible. I'll take the heat and humidity over snow and ice any day.

whrgn-Oh, I bet we could trade some horror stories about our kids. I have spent plenty of days in tears from them. Not on my birthday yet but I have prepared for it every year. Though I did spend youngest DD's 3rd birthday picking up DS at the police station. Wonderful memory, you know. But we just keep on going and hoping they turn out ok. (Things will get better, things will get better:flower3: ) You ever need to vent, just pm me. I'd be glad to listen and share.

disney54us-Hope DS is feeling better soon.

Hope everyone is ready for Christmas. Only 10 more shopping days. The rush is on.

Somebody rescue me, please??????
Hang in there. We are here for you so you can vent.

Thank you and can I move with you? Actually, all my family is here and I would miss them.

Yeah, I like their truffles. But I'm a HERSHEY'S kinda girl. Pure, sweet and creamy. Yup, that's the way I like my chocolate!

Yea! Hershey's!!! :cool1:
I'm a Hershey's girl myself. (Grew up going to the park in the summer... still try to go at least once a year.) A plain old Hershey bar will do it for me any day. A Krackle if I need to spice it up a little, and, of course, a Symphony bar if I'm really feeling indulgent.

Gosh I need chocolate... they need better vending machines at work...

Thanks dreamin (and all of you for your kind words!) They say misery loves company, and it sure does make me feel better to know I'm not alone in this! But I feel for all of you too! And dreamin--the police station?!:scared1: That's my fear for my DS. Well, this afternoon we are off to family counseling and we'll see how that goes. Then they are with the ex for the rest of the day so I get a short break:banana:

BTW, :welcome: dunbarfamily! Glad to have you aboard. We're a strange bunch, but lots of fun!

And to those of you in warmer climes, I'm jealous as all get out!! Freezing my tuchus off here in NJ--high in the 30s today. YUCK! At least tonite's nor'easter is only bringing rain for us--we're close enough to the coast and far enough south that we'll miss the mess.

Yea for you!!! And, I agree about the weather. Its COOOOLD here today! But, at least it looks like we're going to miss most of the storm they were talkin' about. (fingers crossed.)

I wish I could send you "virtual chocolate." Mmmm. Chocolate.

Hi Everyone, Just dropping by to let you know I did NOT fall off the planet. Having to work now to make up for all the fun planning and having that last trip. I'm stealing 20 minutes to try and catch up a bit here while the DH takes the kids to see a musical.

We're hunkering down for snow today - supposed to get at least a foot in the next 24 hours, maybe more. I like snow for Christmas, but this is a bit uncalled for.

Talked with the DH this morning about when we should book that first Disney cruise. He's thinking just over a year from now - not sure if I can wait that long. Are any of you veterans? Where should I look on the Dis Boards for tips?
