Glad to know that.Hi Everyone, Just dropping by to let you know I did NOT fall off the planet.
Thanks. No, it won't be finished before Christmas. We have been working slowly on this since we moved in. 1999. Time and Money. We refuse to go into debt for it. We are sooooo close now to finishing and we desperately need it now. Hopefully it'll be finished by this summer.@ more pds that's great!!, the basement is this all before Christmas?

We're off to have our birthday meal and enjoy some delicious Candy Cane pie for dessert - 520 calories per slice of pure heaven. It's the kind of food that makes you want a cigarette afterwards (and I don't even smoke)![]()
Good morning everybody.
Not warm here in the South anymore. A few days ago I was in shorts and now I am bundled up to keep warm. The saying in GA though is "If you don't like the weather, stick around, it'll change soon."Stay warm and safe my Northern friends. I told my DH yesterday that I'm dreaming of a red (sunburned) Christmas not a blue one. He thought that was funny. I am finding the older I get the more I can't stand being cold. I hear retirement in FLA in my future. I'll get a job at Disney. That would be fantastic.
Well, I need to finish my Christmas shopping today. With all the construction going on I forgot I still had more shopping to do. Plus, my dad and his wife
are coming over Christmas day to eat with us. Wish me luck. I gotta plan on what to feed them.

Yeah!
The Candy Cane pie we had at home was from Baker's Square. (not sure if those are local or nation wide chain) Although this year Aldi was selling them for $4.95 in their frozen pie section and that one was just as good as Baker's Square. Anyway, the pie has a oreo cookie crust, then chocolate mousse, then a candy cane cream layer and topped w/ fresh whipped cream. It simply melts in your mouth. I licked the plate like those women in the Warm Delights commercials.

, no place to be found. Feel like I have a hundred things to do still (that would be b/c I do). DS's Christmas play tonight. It always, brings calm to this crazy time, but of course bittersweet since the merging of school's it will be the last one ever. Everything this year, most of the parents have that feeling, this is the last time they will do this, or that
. I think I will go tho DM's and put her lights on, with that out of the way I can concentrate on stuff here. Have candles to make, but volunteered to help tomorrow morning w/ Christmas ornaments. One of the mom's from DS's school is making ornaments w/ each child's picture and the school name. okay getting teary eyed writing about it, as I've said before this is very emotional for all the parents. Well wanted to check in, I'm glad I didn't have pages and pages to catch up on. I guess we are all pretty busy right now.
Enjoy your day TK'ers
sounds like you enjoy yourselves

Gotta be realistic.

lots to do but I can't help checking in with my buds
marcel54 and diamondintheruff! So glad you found us here. Looking forward to getting to know you both. Thanks for getting on the bandwagon, and diamond, isn't it great to spread a little of the good cheer? I know it sounds corny, but its the little things that make a difference, don't you think? Every single one of us has been a newbie, a thread killer, an unanswered post. Its just nice to be nice.
day; I'm pooped.
