Yea for you!!! :banana::goodvibes
Thanks.
Hi Everyone, Just dropping by to let you know I did NOT fall off the planet.
Glad to know that.:rotfl:

@ more pds that's great!!, the basement is this all before Christmas?
Thanks. No, it won't be finished before Christmas. We have been working slowly on this since we moved in. 1999. Time and Money. We refuse to go into debt for it. We are sooooo close now to finishing and we desperately need it now. Hopefully it'll be finished by this summer.
just saying hi got back late delayed 6" snow:scared1:  talk later
Welcome back and :scared1: about the snow.
It's my DH and my B-day!!!:cake: Yeah! party:
We're off to have our birthday meal and enjoy some delicious Candy Cane pie for dessert - 520 calories per slice of pure heaven. It's the kind of food that makes you want a cigarette afterwards (and I don't even smoke) :smokin:
Happy Birthday. Candy Cane pie sounds fantastic.

Good morning everybody.:hippie: Not warm here in the South anymore. A few days ago I was in shorts and now I am bundled up to keep warm. The saying in GA though is "If you don't like the weather, stick around, it'll change soon."

Stay warm and safe my Northern friends. I told my DH yesterday that I'm dreaming of a red (sunburned) Christmas not a blue one. He thought that was funny. I am finding the older I get the more I can't stand being cold. I hear retirement in FLA in my future. I'll get a job at Disney. That would be fantastic.

Well, I need to finish my Christmas shopping today. With all the construction going on I forgot I still had more shopping to do. Plus, my dad and his wife :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: are coming over Christmas day to eat with us. Wish me luck. I gotta plan on what to feed them.

Thanks for all the wonderful b-day wishes. We had a delicious meal last night. Grilled ribeye steak w/ mushrooms & onions and garlic mash potatoes. The Candy Cane pie we had at home was from Baker's Square. (not sure if those are local or nation wide chain) Although this year Aldi was selling them for $4.95 in their frozen pie section and that one was just as good as Baker's Square. Anyway, the pie has a oreo cookie crust, then chocolate mousse, then a candy cane cream layer and topped w/ fresh whipped cream. It simply melts in your mouth. I licked the plate like those women in the Warm Delights commercials. :lmao:
Our boys made us some very cute cards and then found items from their toy box and around the house that they thought we'd like and wrapped them up as gifts. It was so cute when my husband opend a small toy racing car that my 5 yr old gave to him because he likes NASCAR. A very priceless moment.

It has finally stopped snowing here - for now. They're predicting more snow on Thurs and another snow storm for Sat into Sun. Anyone else not know where to go with this white stuff any more????:headache:

Hey guys,
I am doing a quick check, my eyes are dialated from an eye exam so I am having trouble reading.

I wanted to share this picture that I got from kaybird with you. Next TK project.:thumbsup2 I will be making these to hang on the greenhouse by the pool this summer. Heck, next year I am planning a Christmas Island theme for the front and I will put a few in the background.

Take a look,

Glad to see everyone back, hope ya'll are safe and warm and finished with shopping-I'm not. T-minus 2 days tll In Law invasion.:scared1: then I am supposed to turn into Super Hostess:eek:

Checking in................

Just got high speed and it's like having a new computer.

Had a great time. Eventhough we were ON alot of rides that broke down. At MK it was almost all the bigger rides that we went on, but we took it in stride. Weather was great, crowds were minimal, waits were the same, the xmas party was alright, (fireworks were awesome), took over 300 pics with ours and photopass, food was fantastic, and the kids had a great time. To see my childerns faces light up when they see there favorite characters or ride or whatever it is at that time is worth it. So that's why were going back in May at Boardwalk, and have made the ADR's already. Going to try the Priayes and Princess party that time. Anyone care to see the photopass pics would be glad to share them just PM email to me.

Welcome back blamemysister! Glad your family had so much fun. Those of us left behind are jealous.:)

Hi everyone, missed you guys! It's getting down to the wire still looking for black uggs classic short:laughing:, no place to be found. Feel like I have a hundred things to do still (that would be b/c I do). DS's Christmas play tonight. It always, brings calm to this crazy time, but of course bittersweet since the merging of school's it will be the last one ever. Everything this year, most of the parents have that feeling, this is the last time they will do this, or that:sad1:. I think I will go tho DM's and put her lights on, with that out of the way I can concentrate on stuff here. Have candles to make, but volunteered to help tomorrow morning w/ Christmas ornaments. One of the mom's from DS's school is making ornaments w/ each child's picture and the school name. okay getting teary eyed writing about it, as I've said before this is very emotional for all the parents. Well wanted to check in, I'm glad I didn't have pages and pages to catch up on. I guess we are all pretty busy right now. :santa: Enjoy your day TK'ers

Welcome BAck!! Great pictures, glad you had fun and got out of the cold for a little.

Good Tuesday everyone! I can't beleive Christmas is almost here. Most eveyrthing is done, just hate to see it all end so soon. Still awaiting a few postal deliveries ( ) and then I just have to enjoy it while I can.

disney54us...I'm sorry to hear about the merging of the schools. These times are so precious and its sad to see it end. What wonderful ideas about the ornaments! I love attending my nieces/nephews pageants...they're just so cute!

Bopsmom...I love that pic! I am still so in love with my Mickey ornament, I've been racking my brain trying to figure out how to make a Valentine's Mickey wreath, a President's day wreath, an Easter wreath...its really gettin out of control! I am going to start a new project once I hit the Dollar Store (hopefully today)--GIANT ENORMOUS Mickey wreath. I'm going to get a hula hoop, loads of garland and use the 18" wreaths for ears. We have a big picture window that it would be perfect for.

My obsession with all things Disney is out of control.

blamemysister...I would love to see your pics. My BF and I were lamenting last night how we didn't see enough characters. Its a new challenge. If we do get to go back this fall (I can't beleive your plans are in place already! Go you!) we're going to hunt every character down. And I love the Boardwalk! I've only stayed at the Poly and All Sports, but I'd love to be able to stay at the Boardwalk one day. Its just such a great atmosphere.

Good day everyone! Good luck with all the plans, baking, shopping, prepping, whatever lies in your future. Stay safe and warm and in good spirits!

Welcome back blame my sister Glad you had a great time. WOW you already have ADRs for you next visit! :cool1:
Bopsmom- cute picture.

Just saying hi.:hippie:
Love the green mickey head.
Hope everyone is enjoying the season.:santa:
Trying hard to not gain the weight back. I'll just be happy if I stay the same through these next few weeks. I'll get busy again at losing after the holidays.:yay: Gotta be realistic.
Looking forward to hear from all of you who have just returned from WDW. :surfweb:

You all inspired me to do some random acts of kindness. I went searching for those zeros and replied to a couple. Thanks for the inspiration:angel:

Happy Holidays!:santa:
Funny thing the years I don't gain weight, actually lose, is when I give myself 5 pounds for Christmas. I don't know what it is, maybe taking the stress off of the situation or what, but it works for me.:confused3

Glad ya'll liked the "floatie Mickey":thumbsup2 . Good think about them is they are easy to store/pack!
I think I feel a photo op this summer at BWV with DD and DN and DN in the pool inside the floatie mickey with their "ears" on.

BlameMySister: love the sleeping with mickey picture. Even DH said "awhhhhh" when I showed him. Aren't they so perfect when they are asleep!

Magikitty, you can get huge wire florist frames or wait til the after- Christmas sales and pick up one that you don't have to add the greens to(a pain). I got a 30" wreath this year for $25.00 at Hobby Lobby. I don't know what hobby/craft stores you have.

I am going to have to make a Minnie wreath for my Mom. Adding a polka dot bow between the head and ear.
We've become Minnie nuts here because my Mom(we call her Mimi) drives a red Mini Cooper and we "decorate" it with Minnie antenna balls(that get stolen all the time) and bows. Still looking for big enough mouse ears to stick in the sunroof.

Have a good night ya'll-last day till in-laws get hear:scared: lots to do but I can't help checking in with my buds:grouphug:

Morning everybody! It's been crazy around here lately with getting ready for the holidays. There always seems to be something else that needs to be done.:goodvibes DD11's winter concert was last night (she plays the violin). I was able to only see about half of it until the little ones were too restless to sit any longer. DH had the video camera so at least I'll get to see the rest.

Hopefully, today I'll be able to catch up on the reading on here. Still have to figure out how to load pictures onto the digital photo frame I got my mom for Christmas. Should only take me a couple days.:rotfl:

Take care everyone and keep warm.

:welcome: marcel54 and diamondintheruff! So glad you found us here. Looking forward to getting to know you both. Thanks for getting on the bandwagon, and diamond, isn't it great to spread a little of the good cheer? I know it sounds corny, but its the little things that make a difference, don't you think? Every single one of us has been a newbie, a thread killer, an unanswered post. Its just nice to be nice.

Bopsmom, that idea of the pic in the pool with the kids and the mickey floatie is just precious! I'm sure your family is going to be the hit of the pool and eveyrone will be asking you "where'd you get THAT???". Btw, what are you using to attach them together?

dreamin in pa...please let us know how that digital frame works out. I know lots of people who are giving those this year for the holidays, but I haven't heard how they actually work and how they look. I'm pretty much done with my shopping, but I may pick one up at the after-holiday sales to give to Mom for Mother's day (because you know I have to head to the mall post-Christmas to return all those darn dresses).

On the dress front, it doens't look like I'll be able to head to Davids Bridal until after the holidays, and I'm supposes to leave on Jan. 1! (BF is lobbying that I boycott my family vacation; he'll miss me too much. Cuteness!) I also took the hit and sent my measurements (a nightmare) to a cousin so they can have a dress made. I am so not a seamstress! I was wrapping the measuring tape in all sorts of directions. It was far from precise. I arrive two days before the wedding, so I have approximately 48 hours to get my dress fitted. I did buy those spanx and they do smooth me out! I need all the help I can get. Supermodel I am not, but I can work with what I got.

Lose weight? Unheard of in my neck of the woods. I just want to remain where I am, always a struggle. Especially with holiday cookies dancing around, eggnog, and cheesecake in the mail!

Have a good day everyone!

:welcome: marcel54 and Diamondintheruff
DH is home until the new year so my daily schedule will be messed up. Don't know when I'll be able to get on the computer. :sad1: But I will be back.

I plan to use these rubbery zip-tie sort of things I got to tie my garland and these new light tubes that I made to the banisters.

I hate that you are having so much trouble on this dress. :headache:

:rotfl2: I wanna have my Christmas and eat it too:thumbsup2

Have a good evening.
I've had a comando:crazy2: day; I'm pooped. :faint:
The In laws will be here in the afternoon. I hope I'm awake.
'night ya'll

MagiKitty-I downloaded the pictures to the digital frame yesterday. I bought one that has the internal memory but you can also use memory cards with it. I put the pictures right onto the frame's internal memory and it was fairly easy. Haven't tried it with a memory card yet. With the internal memory, you just hook the frame up to your computer with an usb cable that comes with the frame. The screen on the frame is small (only 5.6 in) but I didn't want to get a larger, more expensive one in case it prove difficult to work. If you look closely at the frame's screen you can see that it is pixilated but at normal viewing distance, it looks fine. All in all, I like it and plan on getting a couple for myself.

whgrn-I was so happy to read that your kids helped you when you were feeling unwell. I hope they have tried to keep it up. How's the point system working? I may have missed it but how old are your kids? I am always looking for new ideas on how to get good behavior out of mine. Maybe I could do this point system too with different rewards.

:welcome: to our new members. Pull up a chair and join the fun.

I just love this thread. I know that I would get along great with each and everyone of you if we were to ever meet.:grouphug:

Well, I need to take off and go finish up shopping. Party here tomorrow night for the young adults from my church.(DH and I help out with this age group. It's about where our mentality is.:rolleyes1 )

Starting to stress a little about Christmas day. Long story short, my dad and his wife are coming over here since we were uninvited to her house this year for Christmas Eve. (Long story, I really don't want to get into) I put up with her because it's the only way I can see my dad. I am daddy's little girl. We have a very close relationship. I am praying hard there will be no conflict this year from her. I have a saying that "Hurting people hurt people" Well, she must REALLY be hurting because she can be vicious. I don't mind when it's directed at the adults but when she starts up with the kids.         A mamma will protect her cubs. Sorry to vent. I usually try to post positive stuff. Just missing my mom a lot today. She died from breast cancer 16 years ago around Christmas time.:sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

 :grouphug: I am so sorry the holidays are so rough for you. My mom is battling cancer right now (3rd time in 7 years). My prayers go out to you. My dad's first girlfriend after my parents split was a real witch too. She was one of the most horrible people I have ever met. Even though my dad only lived around the corner from us, I only saw him a few times during the year he was with her. As much as I love my dad, I couldn't take my children around her for prolonged periods of time. I just had to make that decision for my kids.

We are all here for you if you need to vent some more. :grouphug: Thats why this is the best thread around here.
