Hey ya'll!

Hope everyone is having a great day. Another warm one here in the south.

Praise2Him- We're going Feb 2-6. We've never been that time of year, so it should be interesting to see what it's like. We looked at going to see Peter Pan at ASF, but decided to wait until later. DH said the website showed they are doing Winnie the Pooh next year, so we'll wait for that. I've never been. Have you? I wonder how they will do Pooh.

Bopsmom _ I just came from my DDs preschool Christmas where I cried even when her class wasn't performing. They're just so precious. I'm sure I'll embarrass her with that for many years to come. I know you're glad your DH is home finally. Didn't you say your in-laws are coming?

Have a great afternoon killers!

We had a delivery by DHL yesterday. Very disappointed the guy was older than me.
I enjoyed the Disney specials on Travel Channel and the Food Channel. I don't usually watch the Food channel because it just makes me hungry.

Can't even tell you whether our delivery drivers are cute, young or male. :confused3 The ones that come to our neighborhood seem to just drop the package on the porch and run before you even get to the door.
That can't be good????

Well, dear friends, the Target dresses arrived today en masse. Didn't catch a glimpse of the delivery guy though. Dresses are cute, but inappropriate for a woman of a certain age. I look like I'm trying to be a teenager again, and I just don't want it preserved for eternity in family photos, me being in a puffy purple dress.

And so the search goes on. I have two weeks to find a dress. Mission Impossible, I think. I'm on the search tomorrow in earnest. Heading out early in the morning, more to beat the ten inches of snow that's been predicted!

Actually have an important meeting on Friday, and just heading up the day before to do some holiday shopping and just to get there safe. So I'll be out of commission for a few days. Ack! How will I survive without the TKers??

Have a good evening everyone. For those of you also in the northeast, keep safe and warm as we await these two storms! Brrr!!!

10 inches???:scared1:

All we're expecting here is a good ol' New Jersey Slopstorm (as my Dad calls it:lmao: ), followed by rain. No significant accumulation. THANK GOD!!!

Those of y'all up north, please be careful out there!

Thank you for your thoughts,:flower3: yep, DH is home and I can use his help.

The cold front (a relative term on the Gulf) came in today. I'm not complaining after hearing about the "slopstorm".For all of ya'll "up north" stay safe and warm.
Drive carefully if you have to go out
Magikitty. Sorry to hear about the dresses. Have you tried JCPenneys? There are a lot to choose from and lots of sizes. They actually have nice special occasion dresses. We used them for a friend's wedding and the dresses were nice. You can order on line too:thumbsup2

Hope this link works. You may have to cut and paste.

Ahh, preschool programs:love:
My DH's "allergies";) ;) seem to always act up at these programs and he needs my hankie (I now just pack an extra).

The inlaws will be here next week (sans any bad weather in the Midwest) and there is still lots to do.

Have a good evening back to:laundy:
Wish me :pixiedust: on getting DN a Princess Character Breakfast/Lunch. I have to call at the crack of early in the morning.

good morning everyone!

just checking in.
magikitty - keep on truckin with the dresses. it always takes a while to find a good one. did you try chadwick's
http://www.chadwicks.com/womens-TRAVEL-READY.aspx?DeptId=8380

you may have to expedite the shipping but we used them for a friend's wedding, and they have a great selection.

we're expecting 2-4 inches here on long island. but the big storm for us will be saturday into sunday. perfect, we don't have to go out, we can enjoy the storm from inside the house!

good luck, bopsmom, on everything! the in-laws and mostly the princess breakfast!! i bet you're calling right now!:thumbsup2

Hi, first need to bump us up. Went up to bed very early last night 9:30:scared1:, very unusual for me but this Christmas shopping is getting the best of me. Did well yesterday in finding the  you'll never get those for Christmas. Found knitted uggs for DD, just need to find black or choc. uggs classic's the knitted my DM is giving her. Very grey (it has been, starting to feel I live in Seattle), they aren't really sure how to call the snow, sleet rain lines so we will see what we get. I think we'll be okay for today and tomorrow, its Sat & Sun that could become a problem. I really don't have time for this, to much to get done:eek:, it should wait till the week after Christmas!! Magikitty, hows the dresses? and the UPS guy:rotfl:, Listen if they are real slinky or fitted, check out Spankz, (I thing that's how you spell it, I know it's w/ a Z). they are under garments and they leave no lines! just smooth flowing dresses. My GF told me about them a while back, she mentioned she thought someone wears them and I was:confused3 , she proceeded to tell me that all the celeb's wear them thats why there gowns all fit and cling so nice etc. They have a web site and are sold in stores, check out there site, since that shows all the styles. A little pricey, but I heard on the radio once (they had people calling in who couldn't live w/o there Spankz, a girl said sometimes you can find them at Koehls. Don't know if you have them up there. Popcorn sounds good never heard of that one. Your pictures are great really missing being there this year:sad2:. Bopsmom, read your post a few days back broken feet and croc's, I know your in a warm weather state, but they have croc's w/fleese lining for winter. You may have to check the cold weather catalogs:laughing:. I've heard the are very comfy, when I can go into shoes I think I will give them a try! Okay TK's, time to get started on ?? not sure what to do first! talk to you later, keep safe on the roads!

Good Morning Thread Killers.

I had to jump in on this one...I had seen the Gingerbread house at GF on TV last year and it was on my list of things to see this year! We had scheduled a Photopass session at GF this time, and I was excited to visit the hotel for the first time.

Let me tell you, the way it looked on TV did not to it justice. The smells! It just permeates the lobby, and the house itself is enormous! They give out little bits of samples. i'm not usually a fan of gingerbread, but this was really good stuff. I know you can even have a mini version sent to your house or buy a kit there. Everything except the hardware is edible! They also give you the recipe, but I lost it somewhere.

They also have a smaller gingy house at the food court of the American Pavillion in EPCOT. They're both absolutely incredible.
Thanks for sharing. I have to plan a trip in Dec. Maybe next year.:wizard:
I'm not a picture taking person, unfortunately, but I love Photopass! (I was so sad that it rained during MVMCP so that we only got 1 Photopass picture) DH videos everything, and DD takes lots of photos, and I just like to enjoy looking at everything. I've never done a TR, but I might just try one!

We got a free sample of the gingerbread and it was delicious. It has a thin layer of chocolate on the back and anything with chocolate is yummy!
I am soooo hungry now for gingerbread. Hmmm. Bake time.
We would support you in your TR. I love reading them. It helps us to get to know each other better. It would be sooo coool if some of us could meet at the park sometime in the future.:dance3:
I look like I'm trying to be a teenager again, and I just don't want it preserved for eternity in family photos, me being in a puffy purple dress.

Oh, I hope you got a ressie. Keep us posted.popcorn::

Hope everybody has a great day. I'll try to check back in later.:hippie:

How about Deb Shops? I don't know if you have them there, mall stores, tons of gowns, especially this time of the year and in the spring for prom. Very reasonable. DN bought her New Years wedding dress there, (last minute decision before bf left for Iraq) and DD bought her Soph. Catillion gown and shoes all for $78.00! Nobody, believed how little she spent, they thought I spent tons of $$$. She, said she didn't want me spending $$ for a dance that wasn't prom and was in her HS cafeteria. if you don't have them check for them on the web. Okay, really going now:laughing:.

Good suggestion-I forgot about Chadwicks:thumbsup2

Brrrrrrrr(no freezing smiley face)
They say we will get a real honest to goodness freeze at that time too. There goes the plants. Now I have to add-"put plants in greenhouse" to my ever growing list of things before the in-laws come. They expect to see green plants when they visit and I have a rep to protect-(I'm a certified Master Gardener):hippie:

Love "Crocs with Sox":thumbsup2
I ruin shoes-(reason mentioned above) Even though DH says they are ugly he is outside now in his cleaning the pool:laughing:

:thanks: ya'll for the :pixiedust: it did the trick.
party:party:I called and got all the ADR's I needed even a Princess Lunch at Akerhouse for DN. party: party:
We did a breakfast there for DD years ago and she loved it. Since we are going at a very crowded time I didn't want to waste a morning (when it's cooler and less crowded in the parks) sitting at a table.
While we are accustomed to the heat and humidity, the BIL and family are from OH and are not. My DSIL will freckle while you're watching her:rotfl:
I have midday breaks scheduled for us everyday(mad dogs and Englishmen....ya know) and this fits in perfectly.

We'll as much as I'd like to stay:goodvibes I gotta get rollin' on shipping gifts.

Stay warm and have a Magical Day:goodvibes

Hey ya'll!

Hey Bopsmom,I'm a Master Gardener too! Not that anyone could tell by looking at my yard. Maybe when kids aren't so little I can do better. Congrats on ADRs.:thumbsup2

Hope everyone has a great afternoon. I'm off to decorate gingerbread house with DD.

Bopsmom- Congrats on the ADRs. What a great aunt you are. :thumbsup2
MagiKitty - wish I could offer suggestions but I gave up wearing dresses years ago. Lucky for me no one invites me to be in weddings anymore. :)
I've baked two batches of cookies today. Tomorrow I plan to do 3 more. I have to make sure I have time to check the DIS.

Cool:thumbsup2
I just recently got my Junior Master Gardener Specialist certificate to teach kids to garden. It's a lot of fun. My Mom is a MG too.

Bopsmom- Congrats on the ADRs. What a great aunt you are. :thumbsup2
Thank you. I just want the "girls" (DD included) to have a Magical time. Actually, it was DD who woke me up extra early this morning to make the call -I wasn't very awake when I made the reservations.:lmao: trying to guzzle coffee and talk at the same time.

MMMMMMMMM Cookies!
images2um3.jpg

I will be buring out a mixer making divinity this weekend.:lmao:

OK, so when I'm ready to redo the plantings in my backyard next spring, are all you Master Gardeners gonna come help me out????:rotfl:

Today's "storm" was much ado about nothing. We had about an hour of sleet, and then rain rain rain. It's just damn cold. I sat for the 2nd night in a row at dinner in a restaurant with my coat and mittens on! :cold: (Last night was "girls night" with just me and DD and she wanted to go out, and tonite is Barkalow night at TGIFridays where DD's school gets 20% of all sales. GREAT fundraiser!) Now I'm home under a blanket with my puppy curled up next to my laptop--nice and toasty!

Tomorrow night I have our annual Girls' Christmas Party--gotta make my crab dip and remember my tacky gift (a tradition!). We're all sure to laugh our butts off--too bad that isn't physically true!:rotfl2:

My kids gave me such a hard time tonite I really screamed at them. So they have decided to leave home. But not until Saturday. I didn't tell them we are getting another storm on Saturday, but I did offer to let them live in the shed.:lmao: Little ingrates! If I was REALLY mean, I'd hold back all their Christmas presents. I've got half a mind to do just that, and give them to them later in the day, when my parents are here. Or would that be just too mean??? I honestly don't know what to do with them these days.

Well off to get a few things done so I can turn in early. I'm BEAT!!

I feel your pain. I have 4 of my own and at this point, I am ready to cancel Christmas all together for them. When people ask me why my hair is grey, I point to each of the kids. It's mostly the oldest who gives us the most problems. We are past the point of normal punishments and onto the innovative type now. Hopefully one day, he wil learn. And since there was no school today, it's twice as bad.

I haven't been on for a couple of days and boy do I have alot of reading to catch up on. But quickly from what I have been able to read so far:

Bopsmom-Congrats on getting the ressie. I keep debating if I should try to one on our next trip in November. Hope they love it.

DL55-We are making all our cookies this weekend. With three girls who love nothing more than baking cookies, it's easier to do it all in one day. Maybe this year the kitchen won't end up a disaster area.:rotfl:

MagiKitty-Love the pictures of the Gingerbread House. That is definately on our to-do list for next year. DD11 eyes just popped when I told her that they give out samples. Did you happen to notice how much it was to have one sent to your house? I just know she's going to want one.

Hope everyone who got hit with this latest storm is safe and sound. Get ready for the next one.

Good Morning TK. I am sitting here this morning waiting for the contractors to come back. We are having the rest of the sheet rock put up in our basement. They worked all day yesterday. If you want to see pictures of before just click below in my signature and read my latest post. I'll have a lot of painting to do when they are finished. A big job but a fun one for me.

I have lost 2 more pounds. I am actually wearing some shorts I haven't been able to fit into in about a year. The weather here has been nice and warm this week but it's suppose to cool down this weekend. I hate cold weather. I tell my DH I will follow him anywhere----South. We are in GA and that is far enough North for me. I must have very thin blood or something.

Hope everybody is doing great today. :hippie:

just wanted to let you know - it's Spanx! it's an x not a z! if you put the z you get sent to some explicit website!!! :rotfl2: they're the best for wearing with dresses!!

QVc sells 'em too. (Since I'm our resident expert.) - (I work there for anyone who missed that post.) You can check it out on QVC.com if you don't catch 'em on air. I haven't tried them myself, but the before and afters with the models are pretty impressive.

Also, I don't know for how long, but we're guarantee-ing Christmas delivery on a lot of stuff today for no extra charge. (I have a little more shoppin' to do myself.)

Hi everyone, was about to bump us up and see it has been done. Congrat's on getting the ressies, thanks about clearing up the spankz, don't want to be sending anyone to a X web site. Didn't know QVC sold them:confused3. Did get a good amount done yesterday, and trying today but DS home sick had to take him to Drs. so back to tree lights and I will talk to every one later. So much to comment on and multi quote, but my tree really needs lights:santa:
