Hi Tker's!
Been super busy lately haven't been checking in as much as before. We're done xmas shopping, getting ready for my sons bday party on Sat, posted a ton of my old toys on Ebay and getting alot of bid+looks (first time) and starting to get a pretrip list of stuff to bring along up and going. We already have ordered our groceries and brainstorming on other stuff. Either the Dis or DVC site has a list you can print. Going to look for it later.

As for how many times a year......... We are going twice this year and the next and after that we'll probably slow it down cause our girl will be in first grade next year and they frown apon "unexcused absences"

I think it's a great excuse to miss school.

Time for bed nite all.

Put some things on ebay too! That becomes time consuming, since I keep checking do I have watchers? do I have a bid? All that and the dis boards, I really need to get away from the computer:laughing:.
It is a great excuse to miss school, I am one of those who do take my kids out to go to Disney. You would be surprised how many do, I just always made it more of a fact and not can I, to the teachers, and most have been great about it. When my DD was in 2nd grade her teacher was a Disney nut, her husband and her would go every year over Christmas. She was so excited that DD was going to get to see Dis decorated for Christmas (we went early Dec. that year). She, told her all the things not to miss. If you decide in the future to do so, I have always made sure that the teacher knows that this is not disrespecting her (some take it personal), but that family time and academic's need to be balanced. When my DF was living, we would go early Dec., now that he is gone my kids will always have great memories of those times:goodvibes.

Hope all your stuff sells!

Happy afternoon all...oh goodness, where did the day go already? Its finally sunny up here, and even though there is a chill in the air, its welcome weather. Have to get errands done today, putting off hitting the post office to mail some packages.

My photopass leader is home! I can't wait to upload my pics and tweak them, but I'm afraid I'll have to wait until tonight for fun stuff.

Put the tree up last night, without ornaments. Its one of my kitty's first Christmas, and I wanted her to get used to it first before I decorate it and make her absolutely crazy. She was very good. There will be treats in her stocking.

Welcome welcome chipmunk89! Looking forward to getting to know you!

I believe both Rochmom and WVgoofyfan left today for the world! I hope they have hassle free travel and a great start to a wonderful vacation.

Disney54us...thanks so much for the recipe. I'm going to get ingredients at the grocers today! My family is in the healthcare business, and we never had off for the major holidays so as children we took vacations during the school year. We always made sure to notify the teachers ahead of time and ask for work while we were away. No one took it badly, thank goodness!

Have a good day all!

My morning went to afternoon and I really need to get off the computer! But of course not before checking in one last time and of course I need to check MyEbay. Enjoy, the chili, look forward to checking out any pic's you upload.
Great news on no tree climbing:thumbsup2. My first dog, actually tried climbing the tree his first year and pulling the ornaments off! If I look at pictures from that year, the tree was decorated from the top to about 3/4 down:laughing:. No ornaments on the bottom. Talk to you all later!

Our dog decided to try eating a glass ball ornament one year.
Thankfully caught her before too much damage was done. No cuts. Needless to say our tree only had ornaments from the middle on up.

It's my kitten's first Christmas tree too. He's already tried climbing my fake ficus tree. He found out it falls over easy. I may be the only person whose fake ficus tree is losing it's leaves. (My older cat tried to climb when she was little too.):santa:

So far, the tree and the baby kitty are safe. I don't trust her though, she's rather sneaky. She's probably waiting until I go to bed for her full invasion. Most of my ornaments are plastic so I'm not as worried about ingested glass. I did want to buy a momento ornament while I was at WDW, but I thought about the high probability of it getting broken.

Pictures pictures everywhere! I received my prints from Snapfish, that I took with my own camera. And now I've uploaded my Photopass number to the account....I get to play all night with my Disney pics! Yeah!

How are the Ebayers doing? I'm not that experienced with Ebay, I mostly buy books from the same sellers over and over. I did manage to buy an antique pocketwatch made by my great-great-granduncle once!

You might want to give this a whirl.
I made some of the best posters on Snapfish using our Disney picutures.
One of the posters is of DD with characters titled, "You gotta have friends"
another is of her with only Princesses titled, "Hanging out with the Girls" and the 3rd is of all the Mickey statues they had years ago titled, "Simply Mad about the Mouse". I included a great shot of the castle in the picture choices and moved it around until it was in a good spot on the poster. I think they are going to make great presents. (Not real fond of the "randomness" of the poster option, but once you goof with it awhile you can get some great posters).

I have made individual books for the parks. I love the idea of scrapbooking, but ADD and Creative Memories(tm) do not mix.:lmao: I get so bogged down in the details that I get frustrated end up with half finished projects.
I love Snapfish:thumbsup2 -it has been great for getting the pictures in book form-I even have some where I skip pages to add our own souvieners.

Can't wait to see a few of yours posted soon.

Maybe, that scared him enough that he won't mess with the Christmas tree:upsidedow.

Maybe your cat has been reading the thread killer thread and decided to join in the fun by killing a dead tree? :confused3
Don't worry about the teachers. I was an elem librarian for 35 yrs and I know I was just jealous that kids could go when I couldn't. Thereis more pressure on teachers these days for kids to pass 'the tests' now too. Many of my friends feel they have to test way too much.
I'm doing last minute things before going to Mom's Friday and packing the Liberty. We leave Sat. As soon as we get there, we're going to The Marketplace. Going to Candlelight Processional Dec 5, MVMCP Dec 11, Dec 13-16 my first cruise---a Disney one of course. I'll be going to the parks in between but not the week before Christmas...too crazy then. It's great having friends in Orlando---especially one who works for Disney. I never went until they moved there in 2000. I cannot believe it's almost here. I love Christmas and am so excited to see all the special things there that you all have talked about.

Hi everyone! Just stopping by - don't want to not reply :rotfl2:
By the way, your pet comments regarding your Christmas Tree reminded me that one time we had a kitten climb up and tip over a pretty good sized tree! We lost a few decorations - what a mess!

These pet stories are pretty funny. Our kitty (has since passed) used to always climb the tree, go after the ornaments and such. I guess it's pretty common.

Now our new puppy is a completely different story. She is afraid of everything. Freaks out when you flush the toilet, a truck pulls up outside, the kids play with a car on the floor...you get the picture. She freaked out when DH put the tree together and the pieces were on the floor. But since the tree has been up, she has not given it one second thought. She has looked at it, sniffed it and then never paid attention to it again. But if I bring the toy shopping cart out of hiding...that's asking for trouble:laughing:

Started last night to reply, never finished. One day I will learn to multi quote:rotfl:. I have had the same happen, dog gets ornament, people very, very slowly try to get it from dog before crush goes the ornament:eek:.

2 bids out of 8 items, lot's of watchers, bids end on Sat and Sun, so who knows? Many people wait till the near end of the bid to throw their bid into the ring:woohoo:. Antique pocketwatch made by your great-great-granduncle:cool1:. How did you know it was made by him?
Did you make the chili? how was it?

MagiKitty, Bopsmom, Snapfish thing sounds great, once again way beyond my simple computer skills:laughing:. M&N, Candlelight on of our fav's, so many memories (really missing being there this year) MVMCP, fun I can't believe what the did with the castle :wizard:. Hello to everyone else, I noticed the other day I went from 'earning my ears' to 'mouseketeer':dance3:. Couldn't have done it without this great thread! :teleport:

Disney54us  Congratulations:banana: on being a Mousketeer.
Welcome new ones.
Love the pet stories.
Maybe I'll try ebay.
Snapfish sounds neat.
A lot to catch up with.
Hope everybody is doing great. A lot going on at our house, but all good.:santa:

So what we have learned here is killing threads gives us ears.
Aren't you just amazed at what we have learned through this thread?

Good morning everyone! It snowed a little bit, those big fat beautiful flakes. It was so pretty, but I'm sure it'll be slick this afternoon. So to everyone in the northern areas, please be careful getting around this holiday season. Its a perfect night for chili though!

M&N...good luck with the packing! Your plans sound wonderful. On my trip, the Marketplace was the one place that was crazy crowded! We braved it though to get food at Earl of Sandwich (yummy!). I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Candlelight processional. It was so well done and really a good way to bring all the holiday madness under control, to remind us the true reason for the season (in my opinion anyway, please no offense meant). My BF is not very religious, but he humoured me by attending last year. We saw Brian Dennehy, and he was a fantastic orator. The choir brought tears to my eyes. It was one of my favorite experiences at WDW.

dreamin in pa...I know what you mean! I have a big dog, a rottie pound puppy rescue, who is afraid of everything too! He even barks at strangers outside, then looks at me and whimpers. Like, "is it ok that I barked?"

Bopsmom...thanks for the suggestion about the photo poster! You reminded me that I have a free poster on shutterfly, which is expires on November 30! I put together a cute poster to give to Mom for Christmas. She'll love it.

disney54us...Congrats on becoming a Mouseketeer and good luck with the Ebay! I'm one of those people who waits until the bidding period is almost up before I bid, otherwise I'd go crazy worrying about it! I'm sure the traffic on your postings will pick up as the end date nears. In regards to the pocketwatch, my grandmother's maiden name was Jeanjaquet, not really too common. Her family came from Switzerland, more particularly an area called Neuchatel, which was known for its clocks and pocketwatches. Eduard Jeanjaquet was well known for his talents, and I found one of pocketwatches online. There is actually a cuckoo clock style called Jeanjaquet, but getting one of those is way beyond my budget, but a girl can dream.

All the stuff I've learned on this thread...and I'm still intimidated by multiquoting. I'm going to need everyone's help on posting pics. Oh! I love my photopass pics, but I'm wondering what other people do...do you print up everything? Or just a selection...there's a total of over 200 after editing, that seems like a lot, but I just love them all! I too would love to be a scrapbooker, but I have commitment issues and never actually finish a project. I usually print mine up and hope that one day I'll actually put them in an album!

MagiKitty, sounds like you are having some picture perfect Christmas weather! To multiquote, you just click on the quotations at the bottome of the posts you want to quote (you can do them all at once) then click on the reply button, and it brings them up for you. You just insert your comments and then hit submit. Easy as pie! I was intimidated at first, too.

As for posting pics, you need to open a free account somewhere like photobucket.com and you download to your album with the browse button - open My Pictures if you have windows, select the ones to download. Then open the pictures you want to share, click on edit and resize so you can make them smaller, otherwise they show up too big for the boards - then you copy and paste the "html" choice into your posts - make sure the

Snapfish is great... and EASY. They make it pretty simple for even the uninitiated computer user. Its also FREE!! I suggest giving it a whirl.

I love the ideas. Thanks! I'm planning on making a small flip book for my DS (2.5) since he keeps talking about all the characters he met. He loves seeing pics of himself. And, the flipbooks are only a few dollars, so if it winds up getting a little bent in his excitement... no harm no foul.

Looked at my Photopass today too. I don't plan on buying any... not in the budget :sad1: But, its SO fun to look. Its almost like being there again. :)

Welcome to all the newbies.
And "hallo!" to everybody else.

PS - Is it time to go home yet? Work is boring.

So I'm still waiting for my Photopass CD, and desperately avoiding work, so here goes....

DisneyPhotoImage28.jpg

Did I do it right? It seems I did! Woo-hoo! I feel so smart! Thank you so much MagicFor2 for the tutorial. (BTW, what's a double dip?) This is a pic from last year's trip, one of my favorites. That's what I love most about Photopass, I can get pics of BOTH of us!

Wait! How can I make it smaller? I chose to size it to forum, but it seems massive. Sorry!

I'm the dark-haired one (hee hee).
