Morning everyone! It's beautiful here today. Hope everyone had a good Easter.

Anyone heard from magsnden yet?

It was GORGEOUS here today! 63 degrees and SUNNY! It was so nice that after I got home from the gym, I collected the 4 kids and the dog and we went for a walk around the block. Can't bear to waste this great weather, especially since it will be gone tomorrow.

Morning everyone! When I woke up today, I was so excited because it was so bright out. Little did I know it was because all the sun was shining off of the THREE INCHES OF SNOW we got overnight! Will it never end? There was no mention of any sort of precipitation on the forecast, and then this? To add insult to injury, the weather guys are all excited about how warm its been--what are these guys getting paid for?

Do you realize that if we were all as bad at our jobs as the weather people are, we'd be fired in a heartbeat? My knees do a MUCH better job of forecasting than any weatherman I've seen yet.

My DD has been sick for the last couple of days.

Childbirth should be fun later on in life when she's married.
I can hear it now.
Screaming through the whole maternity ward.
"I HATE MY HUSBAND"

Which reminds me of a very funny (but true) story. When I was doing my labor and delivery rotation in nursing school, we had a patient who was a former nun. Her husband, naturally, was an ex-priest. Well, when she was in labor, she let fly with words that would make a truck driver cringe! Her poor husband passed out cold from the shock! The 3 students in the delivery room (myself included) were horrified! The doctor just said "hmm, I've heard worse"

OK here's a funny joke from Robert:
3 stupid guys die and show up at the pearly gates. They are told they must answer a question to get in. The question: what is Easter?

The first guy says, that's the holiday we celebrate in November where we eat alot of turkey and are thankful.

The second guy says, no, thats the holiday in December when we put up lights and a tree and the fat man brings us presents.

The third guy says, no, no, no! Easter is the holiday we celebrate in March or April. It commemorates the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Whew, busy busy people you all are. I see MAGSDEN is still MIA (who am I to talk ha ha) I officially hate my job...okay strong word, but jeepers creepers!!! We have been SWAMPED and now we had a buyer leave. I have been coming home and literally crashing out on the couch from exhaustion every night. ugggg.

I peeped my DH. He loves Peanut butter (goes through a jar a week). I put a peep in his jar. He was surprised, then stuck the whole thing (peep, not jar) in his mouth.

Good Morning Killers, At 7:20am KS time Hope was born!!!!! . DN went in yesterday AM around that time so it was long day and night for her. Her best GF was so upset the night b/f that she couldn't be there she put her kids in the car and came, though she had no one to watch them she wanted to at least be there at the hospital if she couldn't be in the labor room. All worked out since, when GF's dad came home from work she took them there and was able to be there for the delivery with her: At 8:00 my time her GF called to let me know she was getting ready to push and called 20 mins. later and She was here Okay the name, only my DN now isn't sure she wants to name her Hope: It is a name she has liked since she was young and now says maybe I'll name her Morgan. I'll spend some time with her and decide. I'm sure in the end she'll go with Hope, Hope Morgan would be a pretty name.
You guys were quiet yesterday, very quiet, I guess that's good I didn't have to much to catch up on!!



We have a $500. deductable, so either way I'm out 500. Taking it for estimate today.

lighttech-you're sounding a little more relaxed. I'm so glad the daycare hunt seems to be on the upswing for you. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I still haven't caught the cold yet but DH has it now. Maybe I'll sleep on the couch tonight.

DL55-whoo, you get to pack. So what are you doing while DH is playing golf? I would love to have a few hours by myself in Disney. I hope you have fun.

Ok, been so busy because....DD12 is going on a school trip to Disney next month. Last year, she had to write an essay on the effects of schools losing their art and music programs. She got accepted and it's finally crunch time for the trip preperations. They get to do all kinds of behind the scenes tours. They even are going to see Cirque du Soliel and then meet the performers afterwards. Everything sounds really cool what they are doing. She's very excited and is already talking about trying to get in next year. And one of the teacher advisors for the trip happens to be a Disney nut so DD has already bonded with her. The parents meeting is next thursday so we'll finally get the day-by-day itinerary. I'll let you all know what they get to do.

Good morning my friends! It is shaping up to be a very interesting day.

First off, BF and I had a fight last night. Let's just say he's not a good debater. I want to talk about it, he gets all huffy, and I just don't want to talk to him anymore. Funny thing is, the only thing we ever disagree about is politics. He's a diehard Democrat, I'm far more conservative. He's rather critical of the country and the state its in, I still think this is the greatest country in the world. We went to bed angry and not speaking.

Knowing full well that I am not the best morning person, I was ambushed in the morning all lovey with sweet talk of our trip to Disney in the fall. We have no definitive plans yet, but just the talk of a visit to the World makes everything bad seem nonexistent. Apparently my affection can be bought.

And futhermore, its a Woot!off today.

I'm quite excited that we've reached 200 pages and are fast approaching 3000 posts!

I'm volunteering too! Ok, let's just make our own field trip to Disney. But congrats D&D's daughter!

Then, catching up on the chat from last night, Pepperw23 had mentioned me on another thread about the elusive Tag Fairy. And then ixiedust: there it is! I've been tagged! Thank you, thank you so much Pepperw23 and Tag Fairy. I never thought it would happen. But now my tag is in praise of my expansive tummy--oh goodness.

We have had or been company for the last week and then the pool heater broke-chilly kids in water didn't bother them-being held hostage by repairmen.

DH is in CA until Friday-late,
DD's birthday is Thursday (party Saturday)and I am doing and re-doing a mystery party. It's opening day of baseball and a child can't come which requires a re-write of scripts. Yikes!

I am taking DD(and 2 of her friends) for Middle School orientation tonight-she may not even be going to the neighborhood school. She has been recruited to the GT academy for the county but doesn't want to go I am at wits end to decide what to do. she is smart-but I don't want her to burn out ya'know.

97 inches of snow?
I love the South.

My DD has been sick for the last couple of days.
I can tell she is maturing because she handles it better now.
When she was younger, she would let EVERYBODY know how she felt.
Lots of screaming, huffing and puffing, and statements like
"I HATE my nose"
OR
"I HATE my throat"

She ended up "hating" whatever part of her hurt.

Now we can tease her and say "OH, I HATE my nose" and she'll giggle.
GLAD she out grew that habit.
Funny now but annoying at the time.

It never ceases to amaze me how awful people can be. No wonder our society is going to hell in a handbasket! If everyone would just follow the golden rule--"do unto others...", think of how much better this world would be!

I miss all the PEEPing. It was fun and hilarious to read all the escapades. But revenge? Hmmm, this could be interesting!

I forget what else I wanted to comment on! DUH!!!

There are 2 batches of muffins baking in my oven just now. One blueberry, one cinnamon-chocolate chip. Made by DD and DNi and DNe. (DS is at the car show with the ex). They had a blast at cooking school this morning, where they made...you guessed it--muffins!! They wanted to make some here, so I said sure. They made a huge mess in my kitchen, but it was fun to watch them cook. Can't wait to see what they make tomorrow and Thursday--and whether or not they'll want to cook more those days!

The scale was my friend today. By some miracle--I've been unable to work out since last Wednesday becuase my knee was in pain--I've lost 4.8 pounds this week! What a nice surprise!! So now I'm down 23 since New Years! Wooo hooo!!! I go tomorrow for my fitness eval--THAT should be most educational!! They will tell me I am not in shape. I will remind them that I AM in shape--I'm round. Round is a shape!

We were having a discussion earlier about chocolate chip cookies, and whether or not a person could live on nothing but. I said yes. After all, they contain all 4 food groups! Dairy; butter is made from milk. Milk is dairy. Meat/protein: eggs are a great source of protein. Grains: flour is a grain. Fruits and veggies: vanilla and chocolate come from beans. Beans are a vegetable! VOILA! The perfect food! Mom's chocolate chip cookies. (DMom got quite a laugh over this one!!)

Later killers. Gotta go supervise the post-muffin cleanup!

whgrn: on the weight loss! Love the cookie food groups. When I was a teen, I talked my DM into having pizza with that theory.
DH made his tee times last night, he's He's going to play in the am on Sat. then a 3pm (for cheaper rates) Mon. and Thurs. We are bringing out the suitcases this weekend. I'm going to get my pre-vacation haircut today.

Lunchtime check-in. Forgot to pack today, and I'm having a yummy salad from our cafeteria (we have a salad bar, and then they had fried shrimp today, so I splurged and got that, tossed it with some hotsauce and dumped it into my salad. I was very excited until I got to the checkout!!! Over $7 for a salad!?!? I remembered why I usually pack!

Dreamin- Daycare search is moving along slowly. The next 2 schools are YMCAs. I have high hopes, but one has a very long waiting list, and the other I have no idea b/c the director is out of town, so I'm waiting for her to get back to get more info. Good luck fighting off those germies. DS is almost over his cold, and DH has it now, so I'm tempted to walk around the house wearing a surgical mask.

As a matter of fact, I seem to remember saying it again, just this morning!

Why is it that having 3 kids here (DD, and BFFs 2 kids) was a piece of cake, but when you add a 4th (DS) all heck breaks loose? I swear it's a miracle that I've let this child live to be 11 years old. He's gonna drive me to drink!

Ahhh, but tonite, they ALL go away! BFF has them until tomorrow afternoon, when I have to collect mine for cooking school again. But in the meantime, I get about 22 hours of PEACE and QUIET!!!!!!

Okay I guess I'm all caught up on this grey rainy morning. Yesterday was a long day left at 7am and treked the 2+ hour ride to the dentist. It was decided that it should come out bc even w/gum surgery and root canal they felt is would not hold. Took a long time coming home, should have merged onto the next highway missed it needed gas, so it took a while and then some to get home. As of yesterday DN named the baby Morgan Hope, though she already is saying I hope I don't regret it. I really think she should stay w/the name she had picked out and that she has loved for a really long time. Who knows she has 10 days to change it. Well need to clean up make a PD report for DD's car, now that the estimate is $1500 Catch you all later.

So here's my next question...once tagged, will you ever be tagged again? Add more tags? I shouldn't be so greedy, but just curious.

Can you believe I dreamed about Puny last night? It was even in color. I was at some meeting and he was there hanging out on the side wall. It turned out there were a bunch of TK's there and we met because we knew him.

lighttech-you're sounding a little more relaxed. I'm so glad the daycare hunt seems to be on the upswing for you. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I still haven't caught the cold yet but DH has it now. Maybe I'll sleep on the couch tonight.
Ok, been so busy because....DD12 is going on a school trip to Disney next month. Last year, she had to write an essay on the effects of schools losing their art and music programs. She got accepted and it's finally crunch time for the trip preperations. They get to do all kinds of behind the scenes tours. They even are going to see Cirque du Soliel and then meet the performers afterwards. Everything sounds really cool what they are doing. She's very excited and is already talking about trying to get in next year. And one of the teacher advisors for the trip happens to be a Disney nut so DD has already bonded with her. The parents meeting is next thursday so we'll finally get the day-by-day itinerary. I'll let you all know what they get to do.

Thanks. I'm settling in to the search, but I really just want to finish visiting and make a decision now. Its too stressful. I know I'll be more myself once I've made a decision and can start planning for whatever changes we need to make.

I actually think I may have done a few other multi's. Wonder where they went... Maybe they are off w/ all those single socks. Or maybe they went wherever my keys go for the 5 minutes I can't find them every morning. (I swear they magically re-appear somewhere I've already looked!)

Oops, forgot. Lighttech I hope everything works out with the pre-K situation. I'm sure it will you will find a place DS loves and you are comfortable. Then you, will feel better that all is in place.

Update on car, went to fill out Police report, came in through the back. I knew AppleBee's was in the same 'center' as the PD, but literally the are next door neighbors!!! Where she was parked right next door is the PD w/ Police cars and where they would bring people in that they arrested. Wow, such brazen punks!
