More coming your way from the Orlando area, and (because it's where I'm working right now) South Carolina!

Hope all went well!

Thanks everyone. They just took COdy to the OR. WE had to be here at 11:15 and they didn't take him in until 3:30....we were a bit peeved! He did GREAT, colored and watched tv, probably enjoying the alone time with mom and dad. They dosed him with some Versed and he fell asleep before they came to wheel him to the OR.

They mayhave to keep him overnight (this was the point when I started to cry). The anestelogist was concerned because at age 5, Codystill gets the croup about 4 times a year, which is not normal for his age, so they will try touse the smallest most non-invasive tube but if not then he will have his 1st night in the hospital.

I'll update later! Thanks again....when I logged on this morning and saw all the thoughts and well wishes I almost started to cry. I haven't met any of you (except Rosie!!!) and you all took the time out of your day to wish uswell.

Star

I remember well the first time my daughters had to stay at the hospital. (Tonsils). I was lucky enough to be allowed to stay with both of them. Does your hospital allow this?
I thought of you first thing this morning. Please keep us posted and we'll keep you in our thoughts.

When this is all over you can tell the folks just how adorable I was when we met....:teeth:

It's been a long 24 hours. Cody did GREAT with the anestesia. I had heard horror stories about kids waking up screaming and flipping out. We had none of that. He was pretty hard to wake up, but we got him up enough to take him home. Stopped to the pharmacy to get his meds, then over to my friends house to pick up Shane who had been there since the night before. I came home and Cody was in tears that he had to pee, but couldn't as it hurt.

We ended up calling the on call urologist and he suggested we bring him back to the hospital (which is 2 hours away). We could have brought him to our local ER, but poor thing went hysterical over it. He saud he never want to see the dr ever again!!!!

Sadly this would be the trend for all day and night. It hurts to pee so he holds it until he can't hold it anymore and pees himself. We have tried everything to make him go, even bribery (once this is all over he will be getting the Millenium Falcon from TRU!), but he continues to hold it as he paces the floor and cries. I barely got any sleep last night, but he and I did nap today. We managed to go out to dinner and he did great, although now we are heading into time to pee territory so it will be awhile till we sleep.

Thanks for the prayers. Hopefully it starts to get easier for him, cause as his mamma, I cant take much more of seeing him like this.

Awww, poor little guy. I can't imagine how hard it is for him. Hopefully the pain will subside soon. Glad to hear he did well with the anestesia though!!

Glad to see he made it through well. It's always scary when it's your own kid. He looks like a trooper. Hope everything is working well again soon without pain.

oh what a little sweetheart he is! I hope the pain is better, and he continues to improve, what a brave little guy he is ( and mama too)

Oh Star - I'm glad all went well and I'm so sorry about the pain! The poor guy! He's adorable and I'm sure he will be getting better quickly!

He is a handsome guy!

I am sorry that he is in pain. That just seems so terrible and for a child to be experiencing that... :sad2:

I hope everything heals up and he is able to pee without pain real soon. :goodvibes

I'm glad he made it through the surgery ok ... hopefully things will get easier soon. Poor little guy. He's adorable - I love those brown eyes.

Oh your poor little guy. I am glad he did well with the anesthesia and will keep sending good thoughts Cody's way (and calming thoughts your way:hug:). I hope everything is working properly and pain free soon.

Thanks all for the concern!!!! COdy was able to finally pee on the potty last night! YAY!

I'm keeping him home today jsut to make sure all is well, but he will be going back to school tomorrow.

Now I just need him to get over his fear of Doctors and hospitals this has brought about!
