Hi,

I downloaded the DVC planner & I'm having fun! Here's background. I will have 213: 3 from 2005 & 210 from 2006. I'm having trouble deciding wether to do 1 or 2 trips that year?? Any thoughts?? On the planner I have another possible pre-Xmas trip 5 days @ the beach club in a studio. And a possible Spring break trip for the end of March in 1br for 6 nights. This takes up 178 points. What do you think? BTW, Easter falls on April 16th in 2006!!!

How is the weather in HH @ the end of March?

Thanks for your thoughts, ideas, suggestions!

Allison

You've got the points. Do the two trips. Buy yourself and AP and have fun planning the first and looking forward to the second. I would always err on the side of more trips over fewer, especially considering the number of points you will be using.

Pre-Christmas is a great time to visit WDW and following that up with a Spring time trip will give you something to look forward to through the winter.

(As a matter of fact, get the AP and do a third trip with those remaining points)

HBC,

A third trip is a thought. Any suggestions on a third trip??? Wasn't thinking of a 3rd option. Help!

Thanks,

Allison

tinkgrl: You said in another post you had a February use year, correct? So you go once in the spring of 2006, once in the summer and once before Christmas. Spreads it out every 4 or 5 months and always gives you something to look forward to.

The summer trip would take 70 points for 5 nights in a studio, which means borrowing 35 points from 2007 or you could cut the spring trip down from a 1BR to a studio and save those points for the summer trip.

And you get one AP for all 3 trips. Of course the AP idea may depend on what you have planned for 2005.

HBC,

Look @ Counter for 2005 trip. Yes, we have a Feburary UY. I worked in another trip in Late May/June to OKW for five nights in a 1br!! It is 10 points more than the March/Dec @ 188!!!!! The other 2 trips would be studio trips but that's alrigt, right? It's just me & mom anyway. We'll see what my mom wants to do after the December trip.

Thanks,
Allison

Just a thought...cut down to five nights on the longer trip and avoid any weekend premiums. It may make it easier to get in three nice trips without the need to borrow.

Another thought, use that AP that HBC is suggesting you buy, to get AP discount rates at say AKL or Poly for the weekend nights, and don't borrow at all.;) Of course, there's nothing wrong with borrowing points from next year (2007 in this case), in fact it makes decent financial sense.

I empathise with you on thinking about 2006. I am toyong with the idea of getting a BWV GV during February school break and bringing the whole Fam-damily, assuming everyone's in good health. We are hoping my parents will still be as hale and hearty as they always have been (tho DF will be turning 80:eek: that week), and DD keeps hoping my brother and his wife will produce a baby cousin for her to dote on, which might be possible by then. I guess we'll see how things look in March of next year and figure it out then. I dream about those GVs.

Pumpkinboy: We are actually thinking of the same thing for February 2006. We can have a regular 04043 reunion!

We have a GV this Thanksgiving for a couple of nights to try it out and see if it's really worth it. Should be fun.

If you do the AKL get a savannah view room. Try the romance dinner for two in your room while you enjoy the savannah (the dessert is to die for!)

Yeah, if you overhear us giving directions like "well, come to think of it, you can't get there from here." or using terms like "numb as a hake", "wicked sharp" or "yessuh", you'll know it's us ;).

I will look forward to your trip report HBC. We were thinking VB the Sat-Tues, then over to BWV after Feb vacation week calms down a little. But hey, anything to get out of the New England winter for a while.

We chose BWV as our Home resort bcs of the one-level GVs, since DS is wheelchair-bound. The OKW and SSR ones I understand are all two-level :( .
