Hi Everyone -

We are heading to DLR in August and are thinking about going on the "Walk in Walt's Footsteps" tour. It would just be the adults in our party. I've read all the official Disney info, but I'd love to hear from anyone who's actually done it. Fun? Interesting? Worth the money? We visit DLR about once a year so we know the place pretty well, but we've never done a tour. Thanks!!

We did it last april and loved it. Right now it would be slightly different due to the club 33 renovations, so you won't be able to go into the lobby like we did. When we did the tour, we got to ride Peter Pan & IASW, along with going into the club 33 lobby and Walt's Apartment. I believe one of the railroad stations was down for refurb when we took the tour so we did not get to ride that.

Lunch was also decent as you get to choose a sandwich and desert from Jolly Holiday Bakery, and the pin is really nice, we have it displayed on our bookshelf right now. I highly recommend it.

We took this tour last summer and really had a great time. Lots of history and background about the park and the various rides. And if you are really a Disney buff, then the tour of Walt's apartment alone is worth the cost of the tour! And if you happen to get these two tour guides, you'll definitely have a great time! (They were practicing their "tour guide poses" for us :goodvibes)

The tour is amazing if you're a Disney buff; the view of Walt's apartment is worth the price of the tour alone. I got an extra special bonus on my tour-- Bob Gurr tagged along with us:

We haven't done this tour for a while but enjoyed it both times we did it. We didn't get to go to Walt's Apartment, is this new? Maybe because of the Club 33 refurb?

The stop at Walts Apartment is new as of about 2012 or so. They don't promise getting to go there, just that if it is available the tour could include a stop there.

We did the tour in Nov 2012 and really enjoyed it. Would have loved to have Bob Gurr join us, what a treat!!

Our tour guide was new to the job so he was a bit stiff with the monologue parts of the tour, I am sure after he got more seasoned he was great.

Loved getting to go into Walts Apartment, a huge "Disney Geek" bucket list item. The lunch was fun to, got a chance to talk with other Disney fans at our lunch table and compare notes.

This tour is AMAZING. Granted I already knew a lot of the factoids/information brought along the way, but the sheer fact we got to visit Walt's Apartment was so worth the money 100%. With Club 33 currently closed for refurb/renovation/expansion, we did not get to go inside to see the famous lift though. If you do the tour, stay close to the Host, as it's hard to hear her talk or the transmissions if you're too far back or wandering off.

PS I went this past April.
PPS: you also get a LE pin. :)

Super excited to be taking this tour next month!!! I've never been to Disneyland before so that and to get to see Walt's apartment will be amazing! Do they let you take pictures up there or can you only get one with the light?

No picture taking is allowed in Walt's apartment, in fact all cameras and phones are collected as you go in. Afterwards if you want a picture, the guide will take one of you in front of the light, using your camera. Which is why all of the pictures from the tours look so much a like.

That's sad because all of the pictures they take come out pretty horrible. Can't even see the light because it's washed out. I was asking though because lately I have been finding more and more reviews with the pictures of his entire apartment online.....
