We have been going to WDW the third week of September for the past 4 years. With the anniversary starting on October 1, how do you think it will impact crowds? Has anyone heard any rumors about people moving reservations to coincide more with the anniversary?

🤷🏻‍♂️ But I love speculating. Your usual m.o. has to be one of the quietest times of the year. I would think people will plan around the celebration and that it might be even quieter than usual for your trip. Third week seems too early for someone wanting to be there for October 1 and later. Maybe by the time you leave it’ll start to get busier. That is going off no data whatsoever, but it sounds like it might be something.

Last time I went was around that time, and it was as quiet as it gets. I would think you'd be ok this year, but my fear would be if they start doing soft opening of some of the 50th celebration stuff leading up to Oct 1, restarting experiences that have been closed since Covid, etc.. If that is the case, I imagine many who were shut out of the Oct 1 celebration would be running over to be the first to experience those things. This is 100% speculation based on no data or knowledge whatsoever.

I really don't think we'll see any major uptick in crowds for the anniversary until much closer to 10/1, guessing around the 7-10 day mark for those with longer vacations planned. Normally September after Labor Day is a great time to go but this year's crowds planning has been so all over the place.

I agree with others - you may notice a slight uptick in attendance at the very end of your trip, like guests who leave on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, for example.

Last year we did not plan on going in September due to the pandemic and we had just gone for NYE. We planned a last minute trip 2 weeks in advance (I usually plan 180+ days in advance) and it was so much more relaxed. I am thinking if we go this year maybe plan a month in advance, but I still like to speculate and dream about it.
