Have never eaten there before, never even heard of it till we saw last year. Looked at menu, seemed nice...would be interested in some opinions. Also, Wolfgang Puck Cafe, Dining room. DS will be 9 & is so not interested in kiddie meals anymore. He likes grilled shrimp, steak, chicken (not breaded), crab, lobster, and alfredo sauce is always a staple at restaurants for him. Looking to try something new. Was disappointed in Fulton's last year & somewhat disappointed in Narccossee's. Lobster was very good, steak, just ok, maybe need a vacation w/out for once....

Many on here will rant and rave over mediocre restaurants, but portobello is by far the best restaurant in downtown disney. With any restaurant, taste is subjective but even if you dislike th eflavors, you can tell they use high quality ingredients. Hoping this doesn't change now that they will accept the ddp.

I've dined at both Portabello twice and Wolfgang's The Dining Room once. Both were nice meals but we definitely prefer Portabello.

However, the dining plan could change all of that so I think it's pretty hard to base the future meals/service on what has been experienced when the restaurant had full control over ingredients/costs/etc. I remember all of the other signatures before the dining plan and they have certainly standardized their menus so I expect the same to happen at these places.

There were zero children in the Dining Room when we dined there. The dining plan is certainly going to change that.

We love Portobello. We went a few trips ago, and we're going back on our trip next month. We had fantastic food, great service, and the price was completely reasonable. I'd definitely give it a try! :hippie:

I have been to Portabella's twice in the last month and a half. Both times were at lunch. The first time we had a wonderful waitress and the meal was very good. Yesterday it took about 20 minutes to get our meal ordered, the food took about 45 minutes to come out, and even paying the bill took more than 20 minutes. The food was still high quality but if I was given that waitress again I would order a dessert and leave and go elsewhere for my meal.

I haven't tried it myself, but a friend ate there and they really liked it.
