Thoughts on our stay with the DDP

Our party consisted of 4 adults, myself, DH, DS (16), and DS (13). Our daughter was 14 months old on this trip so when we ordered for her we paid cash. Our trip was divided with our first 7 nights at the BWV's and the remaining 3 at the BC concierge. We only had the DDP for the first 7 nights cost. Cost $1063

I know this has been said before but I feel the need to say it again. IT'S ALOT OF FOOD!!! We were allowed on several occassions to use 3 credits versus 4 when we were all dining and we still felt like it was alot of food. Our remaining night we had 2 TS credits left, we went back to Kona Cafe and used 2 TS credits and still left full. Maybe it was the ehat or maybe we don't eat as much as others but wow at the amount of food.

Did we save money? yes. Our total was a little over $1700, even if we knock off the extra appetizers and desserts and all the snacks we still would have saved money versus paying cash.

Will we do it again? Yes, because we would still save money. Probably only $200 or so but hey its a savings and the convenience of having it prepaid is great.

The only complaint. We stayed as I mentioned at the BW, talk about limited CS options. Even my boys were sick of pizza.

I am still waffling on using the DDP. I think we would save more and eat less with AP discount and DDE. My problem is we are a party of 8 and i don't want to split the bill 3 ways every time we eat.

Thanks for the great review! We also find that not only the savings but the convenience of having food prepaid was well worth the plan. Have gone into training now for our August trip, told my DH last night when we went out that I was entitled to an appetizer, entree, beverage and dessert! :thumbsup2

Thanks for posting a review. We're going in December and will be on the DDP for the first time. The DDP does save money, but I also like the idea of the convenience of the plan.

I realize this is a bit :offtopic: , but why would you split a bill for 8 people three ways? With the DDE, you can get the 20% off everybody's meal as long as it's all on one ticket. Then just have them reimburse you.

I have first hand experience with this. We planned on treating some people for 1 meal on the DDP and was misunderstood and ended up treating them for 3 meals!! Ouch!! No reimbursement!!!! Once I realized what was going on I cancelled the remaining meal. We ate at Checkers that night!
