Thoughts on my ADR's

For this trip I wanted a little character interaction (not every meal) and a good mix of breakfast/lunch and dinner ADR's. I wanted to try different restuarants instead of our usuals and this is what I came up with....let me know what you think (or if there are better suggestions out there)

Day 1 Mama Melrose F! Dining Package (3:40pm lunch/dinner)
Day 2 1900 Park Fare Breakfast (10:05am) and Akershus dinner (5:40pm)
Day 3 BOG dinner (4:30pm)
Day 4 BOG lunch (11am) and Ohana dinner (5:05pm)
Day 5 Sci Fi dinner (4:20pm)
Day 6 Ohana breakfast (10:50am)

Thoughts?

I would probably only do BOG once. We went for lunch and we were not impressed with the food. The atmosphere is great, though. So I would at least go once to see the theming. Based on what you have listed, I would keep the BOG dinner and cancel the BOG lunch the next day since you already have a dinner reservation for that day. Although dinner is pretty expensive.

I also think the day where you have Park Faire breakfast and then an early Akershus dinner to be cutting it close. Doesn't seem like a lot of time to do anything in the parks that day. I'm not opposed to 2 ADRs per day as we usually eat 2 sit down meals instead of counter service. But those seem a little close to me. You won't have time before the Park Faire breakfast to do anything in the park. By the time you are done, it will realistically be 11:30 am. Then get to EPCOT at maybe noon? You will have time to do some rides then before heading over to Akershus around 5:15 pm. So you will have about 5 hours to ride rides, etc. After dinner around 7 pm, you might have an hour to do a very little something before staking out a spot for Illuminations.

Another option might be to move your Park Faire reservation to Day 3 and then keep both reservations on Day 4. The BOG lunch won't take much time since it is counter service.

It looks good! Personally, I won't do two BOG meals in one trip.

I personally wouldn't duplicate any restaurants (even for different meals) in the same trip. There are so many different restaurants and character meals that are great I wouldnt want to limit myself. 3:40pm is such an awkward time for a meal, I'd probably try to get a regular lunch OR dinner reservation at Mama Melrose and just FP+ Fantasmic. I love 1900 Park Fare for breakfast, but as a PP said your reservation time is less than ideal, you cant really do anything before hand and you wont be getting to the parks anytime before 11am. If my issues dont seem like they'd be issues for your family, then just stick with what you think is best.

While I have done both lunch and dinner at BOG on the same trip (the 2 experiences are very different, IMO, I agree with the others about your Park Fare breakfast. Because of the time, you are blowing the entire morning as far as park touring is concerned. I'd recommend that you keep trying for a preopening ADR.

I think it looks good! I would keep both bog and ohana. We are doing BOG 3 times in august (breakfast, lunch and dinner) but the are spaced apart and we will east in 3 different rooms ( our trip is 2 weeks long). We are also doing ohana breakfast and dinner (we are staying at the poly so). We did that for our January trip and it was 2 completely different meals, again we just space them apart.

Agree with ALL of this, *if* you've never eaten at BOG before. If you have been there, I'd skip it altogether. Not great for all the hoopla it gets.

I agree with the other commenters on skipping BOG for lunch. We went to dinner at BOG our first night, and lunch our last day. Lunch was ok, but definitely not what everyone's been raving about. Our dinner was fantastic though.

What would you choose as an alternative to BOG lunch at MK?

And thank you for all your input! I understand my times are a little crazy, but we actually have 7 park days and the days were my adr's are later in the day its simply because we plan on sleeping in, heading out to breakfast then the parks after that. On my Akershus day, we plan on just spenidng a few hours at EP before dinner. The kids really don't get a lot out of EP and we plan on FP the major rides and just spending a few hours touring. If they want to stay after - great. If not, then we will head over to another park or simply go back to the hotel to relax.

We ate at Liberty Tree Tavern and enjoyed that. Nothing super "magical" in terms of theming or anything, so if you're traveling with children (as I see you have two in your signature!) then they may not like it as much. I'm not sure how the lunch is at Crystal Palace, but I remember loving the breakfast there when I was younger. We also ate at Tony's on our last trip and were NOT impressed at all.

I would add the Plaza Restaurant for lunch in MK. You don't read much about it but the few times that I have been here we had a good meal and good service. Now I know things change, especially with the servers, but we enjoyed the meals we had here. It is out of the way from the better known restaurants, but it is a good lunch replacement. Check out the menu on AllEars. My kids always found something to eat and of course ice cream it always a good addition to lunch. :p

I love all the suggestions - thank you!! I'm going to check out Plaza restaurant on all ears. Mom2travel - I agree - CP is one of our favorite places to dine, however since we've been almost every trip, I wanted to change it up some and try something different. Looking for a good QS place to eat some good food (if I had an extra TS credit though I would def try CP for breakfast....love it)
