Thoughts on Mama Melrose

We have an ADR for our last day at HS. We are already eating at 50's Prime Time, are not fans of Sci-Fi and needed another 1 dp credit resturant. Decided to try this and now I can't find any really good reviews of it.

For those of you that have been, how is the food? Also, what is your favorite HS resturant that is 1 table service credit. I'm hoping to change to something else if the reviews of Mama Melrose aren't all that great.

As long as you don't go in with high expectations I think you'll be okay. I personally like it. The food is like your typical chain Italian restaurant like Olive Garden or Macaroni Grill. If you like that type of food I think Mama M will be just fine for you.

We've always enjoyed our meals there and had great service. I was slightly disappointed in my meal in September, but I think it is because we were all very tired (we'd been up at 4:00 that morning for our flights) and very hot. But we will be back next year.

We do not like MM. We had two not-so-good dining experiences there. The food was below average, we just did not care for it at all. Our favortie at HS is 50's Prime Time Cafe. I love their fried chicken and the roast beef is also very good.

We ate there in June,2006 and the food was good, but our waitress was excellant. The Tiramusi (sp) was really, really good!!! We will be eating there again (hopefully if we ever get to make our ADRs)

We had dinner at MM once and didnt care for it but this past June we had lunch there and it was very good....makes me want to try dinner there again

My entree was only okay however the appetizer Breads and Spreads and desert of Lemon Cream (sp) with berries were both terrific.

Just ate there on Monday. Our server was great. We had the minestrone, calamari and mozzerella and tomatoes for appetizers that were very good.

The chicken parm, steak and shrimp fra diablo were yummy.

We like Mama Melrose's. I like the Penne Ala Vodka. We have never had a bad meal here. The service is really good as well. Only once did we have a slow waitress but it was really busy so it was understandable.

This is the only restaurant at HS we eat at every trip. We always have one meal there every trip. The service has always been great and the food is good. I guess that is why we keep returning.

We ate at MM last September. I thought the food was above average, I had the charred butcher steak. DH had a pasta dish, and ds had the pizza. We absolutely loved the honey almond ricotta cheesecake.....mmmmmm, mmmmmmm, mmmmmmmmmm GOOD! We are going back next Septmeber.

We didn't go in September and I made a vow we will next time. I just loved the look of the place all tucked into the corner like that. It looks charming.

It's definitely the only TS restaurant we liked at MGM - the only one we haven't tried is the Brown Derby. Enjoy!

I just ate there last week for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I had read bad reviews also, but it was the only ADR I could get for a last minute trip, and I really liked it there. I would go back!

We had dinner there last April. I was a bit apprehensive after reading some of the reviews but we were very pleased. I had the Shrimp Fra Diablo and
DBF had the salmon (if I remembercorrectly). Our waitress, Emily, was one of the best servers on our whole trip. We also had the Fantasmic dinner package and enjoyed the apps (one of them was the calamari) and the desserts (I think we ordered the "light calorie" lemon whatever). botom line...we'd definitely go back. As a frame of reference I am Italian and pretty fussy about Italian food and I have also been to 50's Prime Time and the Brown Derby, but Mama Melrose is our favorite TS at DHS.

We have eaten at Mama Melrose the last couple of times we have been at WDW (2006 and 2007). We have been pleased. The service has been excellent; and they have gone out of their way to accommodate my son's food allergies (which are numerous). My husband and son love the steak and calamari. I am partial to their appetizers, and I love the crema limone dessert. My son enjoyed it so much that we actually ate there twice during our last visit.
