We normally eat at the Sci-Fi but want to try something new. I have already ruled out Prime Time so now I would love to hear thoughts on Mama Melrosa's for dinner. Pics would be great too!

Truthfully, we have always enjoyed it, although this pas September I wasn't as happy with it. That being said, it could be that we were all overtired (we were up at 4 a.m. for our fligihts) overheated (we had just sat through Indiana Jones after taking a tour of our resort for our friends who had never been). I have always had the four-cheese flatbread pizza and just wasn't "as happy" with it as I normally am. However, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal (there were four of us), and we will be back there next September.

Thanks for your honest opinion. We are just stuck in a rut and want to try something new. That being said, I still want the food to be good.

Ate dinner there in Dec 06 and it was just blah but had lunch there in June 08 and we really enjoyed it...I would love to try dinner there again

We really enjoyed our meal there - nothing too amazing food wise, but was still pretty tasty for your basic Italian fare. It was quite quiet in there as well (we ate at lunch time) so it felt more 'romantic' to us. Server didn't seem too attentive at first but he checked on us a lot and got lots of refills, so it was just a bad first impression. Wouldn't put me off and I am planning on going again when we return next year.

Here are a few pics (it is really dark in there though, so excuse the pics as I didn't want to use a flash):

Thanks for the pics and your honest opinion. We would rather have dinner 'cause I just don't like a big lunch and, by the time dinner rolls around, we are ready to relax a bit.

Anyone else care to chime in?

We enjoyed Mama Melrose! The chocolate truffle cake was awesome! I had the wood grilled chicken and DH had the spicy sausage. Both dishes were very good and the spicy sausage isn't that spicy.

We are from Louisiana so we my husband and I can handle the spicy. We ate at Rose & Crown this past August and the food was definitely too bland for our Louisiana tastes.

Hoping to hear from others too!

We just went a week ago. We always love it. We had soup salad, flatbread and chicken parm....all very good.:)

So glad you mentioned the flatbread. That's probably what my son will be ordering since it's most like a pizza. Is the crust super thin and crispy or a little thicker and more like a pizza?

Here's a copy of the adult flatbread pizza. And my earlier message said "all of the others in our party thoroughly enjoyed their lunch."

We ate at Mama Melrose last december and enjoyed it. Food was better than I expected.

We ate at Mama Melrose in September and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had one of the best servers we've had at WDW! She was very attentive and brought out three kid's desserts when we only ordered two kid's meals to share. We will definitely be going back in the future! :thumbsup2

We had dinner there twice and enjoyed it very much. Flat bread pizzas and chicken parm were the entres of choice. We even had bread with olive oil. Our waitress was adorable and flirted shamelessly with my 15 year old son!! Very cute. I told her to knock it off or there would be no tip. She laughed....

We just ate there Tuesday, 12/2, and it was really good. It wasn't our 1st choice, but as a party of 9 making last minute ADR's, it was our only choice. I'm glad we were "forced" to try it and we will eat there again. I had:

Wood-grilled Shrimp over pipette pasta tossed with artichokes, peas, peppers, sweet onions in a basil and four cheese cream sauce $17.99 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 and Tiramisu:

I didn't take pictures of the entree 'cause I was stah-vin' and dug right in!

It's better than Chef Boy-ar-dee, and better than your local Pizza place, but still nothing to write home about, IMO. I think we enjoyed the Sci Fi Dine In better for atmosphere. Plus Sci Fi was very popular with the kids.

Then again, for dining at DHS you don't have many good places to choose from, in my experience. We were underwhelmed by the 50s Prime Time (OK, but no reason to go back), thought Hollywood & Vine was just horrid, Pizza Planet even worse. Other than the Brown Derby, which is great but pricy, I'd go Sci Fi then Mama Melrose in my rankings. Maybe we should give 50s Prime Time another shot but DW just hates the "waiters in your face" thing.

There are lots of restaurants we love in WDW; just very few at DHS. JMO, YMMV

The "in your face" thing at Prime Time is exactly why I won't book there. I know that a lot of people think that's funny and some have said that they haven't been bothered by their waiter or waitress. But, you know what, when I sit down for a meal, I just want to relax a bit, not worry about somebody coming along and telling me what to do.

We had dinner at Mama Melrose in May and loved it. I have some pictures somewhere. . . I'll dig them out for you tomorrow! :thumbsup2
