I have been going back and forth on my decision of a solo trip for Christmas. I have heard the typical “horror” stories about the crowds but does going solo have any impact about dealing with the crowds? Does it make it easier if you are solo not having to keep a group together? I don’t plan on doing too many rides just enjoy my time there so wait times don’t concern me too much, any thoughts or stories? :surfweb:

I have been down already twice this year with family but I have been wanting to do a solo trip and it will be the perfect time, my DD will be her father over christmas break, and my DF will only be off work christmas day. We dont really celebrate christmas so with 5 days off work I thought I might take me a trip :thumbsup2

Go!

As a single, you may be able to move faster. However, it's peak season, so you may want to be prepared for amazing high crowds and MK usually shuts down.

If you are ok with that, you'll have a fine time.

I imagine you will be able to find a few meet-ups as well? :goodvibes

These are very good valid points:thumbsup2

Sounds like a similar situation. My wife has the kids this Christmas so I'm heading to WDW for the holidays. I have been a few times and not so caring this trip about riding the rides, I'm just going to enjoy the sights and sneek in a few rides along the way. I have been in December before, but never over the 25th so I'm kind of excited in a weird way to see how "bad" it really is.

Hope you enjoy your trip if you decide to go.

I think that's reason enough to go! Disney around the holidays is amazing. Yes, it is crowded but you can still do rides (just be prepared to do early openings but like others have said it might be easier solo). If you do get sick of the crowds, you can always resort hop and see all the decorations! The MK resorts and Epcot resorts are the best! :goodvibes:santa:

Agree with not planning on many rides. My first solo trip and first time seeing Christmas decorations. No going commando style this trip. Just my own pace. If I want to just sit on a bench for 20 min and people watch, I can do that. I can get on any bus and go resort exploring. This trip is all about me for once! ;)

It is very very very very crowded. However, being alone you can get around much quicker (or slower if that's your preference) without a group to deal with. Sounds like you've got the perfect mentality for what to do and what to expect for the trip, so I see no reason not to go. I live in Orlando, and I still spent a couple of nights at a Disney resort last year just to be in the middle of it all for the holiday.

Oh, and if Christmas music is your thing, I highly suggest trying to book a Candlelight Processional meal package while there. You'll get a nice meal, and guaranteed seating for a fantastic show. I went last year on Christmas Day and loved it.
