Thoughts on Garden Grill please

It's not a buffet--it's served family style at your table. It's possible that you could get a reservation time where the first set of food you get is the breakfast and then it switches over to you getting lunch, but it's not all set out for you. I also don't think they serve fried chicken. I wonder if the poster you quoted is thinking of Garden Grove in the Swan?

We have only done the PPO breakfast, but we had a great time, left stuffed, and rode Soarin' before the park had officially opened. It was definitely worth it for us for that.

I think there is space between the last breakfast time and the first lunch time. We had an 11:00 lunch last week and the restaurant was empty when we were seated. So, I don't think it's possible to get 2 different meals. And there was definitely no fried chicken.

How popular is this place? Is this one of the restaurants that sells out 6 months in advance? I was thinking of doing this for lunch mostly because:

1) I went here in 1983 and my 10 year old self thought a turning restaurant was the coolest thing EVER. Now my son is 10 and I'm hoping he'll love it too.

2) Their food sounds like exactly the kind of plain, basic stuff that my son will actually eat!

What does "family style" mean exactly? The menu is set and they just bring big bowls of everything to your table?

It doesn't fill up at 6 months out. If you are really picky about times then I wouldn't wait until the last minute, but you should be fine to get a lunch reservation. You've got it right on family style--they bring bowls and platters to the table with serving utensils and if you run out of anything, you just ask for more of the item(s) you want and they will bring them to you.

Thanks! Good to know. I'm keeping this place on my list as a possibility.

We were just there for breakfast three weeks ago. The food was standard breakfast fare, but was served nice and hot. It was just my husband and I and all characters spent tonnes of time with us! Even some of the wait staff were joining in the fun at our table! Of all the character interactions at a meal, this was by far the best. I would highly recommend :)

trying to find out the cost of lunch at Garden grill. What I have found is a range of $35-59 pp. But if it is a set price why the variation?

We were there may 7th through the 14th. We had an extra table credit since our first day we got to pandora airport late. We booked it while at the park on the app. We heard about the meet and greets were very good. We were there an hour and saw each character 3 times. I really don't care for turkey or pot roast but I tried them and I liked them. When we were there it was $50.00 per person. We had the dining plan. I liked it. The variations in price is when you go. If you go during Christmas it cost more to eat there like it does to get into the park

We went, we loved it, I could have eaten those sausages all day! And I would say that the character interaction was some of the best. It was a slow lunchtime that day, so we were fantastically lucky - all the characters did one full rotation, then they did TWO, then Pluto came to "check on" Chip and Dale who had come back to the table a THIRD TIME! It was so much fun we actually even forgot to buy the kids' souvenir cup and had to hang out at the hostess station while they tried to figure out how to include it in the Dining Plan AFTER we paid.

However... that said, when DH and I looked at the bill and realized our DD had eaten half a roll and possibly a strawberry, we shook our heads at the "price" - if I recall, it was like $110? And DH was like, "This is why we are on the Dining Plan. Nobody has to think about that. We had lunch, moving on." And DD wasn't hungry until dinnertime, probably because it was so hot that day. So I can't offer much in the way of pricing assurance but I think we definitely got the food and entertainment value from that meal, it was just frustrating that DD wasn't hungry.

We did the evening meal for the first time on our trip a couple weeks ago. Did it and Hoop on back to back nights. I actually preferred Garden Grill food over hoop's this time. The roast beef was very good, tender and flavored just right. Enjoyed the two pieces of Sausage and also the turkey. Salad was good as well. I do not eat desert most of the time so I can't vouch for the desert. Nice meal for our family.

We have only had a breakfast there, but it was one of our best! Frankly, any time we get to eat with Chip and Dale, my daughter has a wonderful time. She would not name them as favorite characters if asked (because princesses, of course) but she has the most fun interacting with them at Disney restaurants.

I liked the food, and also liked that it was served family style so you didn't have to get up. Managing buffet trips around character visits, grabbing the camera, and having the autograph book and pen ready can make for a busy meal. Family style or plated service helps!

We haven't gone, but I was able to book it for Thanksgiving this year. We are really looking forward to it!

Is Mickey there too? Does he come to the tables too or just Chip and Dale? I have an 8:55 reservation. Will I be able to enter the park at 7:45 when they start letting in those with in Pre park opening ADRs.

It is AMAZING. A lot of the food is from the greenhouse in Living With The Land. One of the best character meals too. I love going for breakfast to get the sticky bun.

We really enjoyed it. Our kids liked it, especially the character interaction. Characters came by our table more than once. They spent lots of time with my kids.
We enjoyed the food. I don't remember all that we had, but it was roast, mac & cheese, salad, cornbread maybe?, and other foods that you would make at home. It was good, but not out of this world amazing. Just good. We liked it.

Loved it. Wish I had more room for more food. And cuddles from Chip and Dale are always awesome!
