Thoughts on Easter week

My husband and I are teachers and have only been to Disney during summer. In an effort to go when it’s NOT hotter than the surface of the sun, we have a trip planned during the week of/after Easter. Is it going to be too crowded to enjoy the trip?

Plenty of people travel during this time. Some do it every year so it’s obviously fine for them. Others do it once and say never again. Only you know your crowd tolerance levels and it might be a case of you need to try it to know. Very hard for someone else to compare how you feel about weather to how you feel about crowds. (I suspect if you’ve ever felt “it’s too crowded” at any point in summer this will be too crowded because it will be that moment on steroids most of the time.)

If you buy LL budget for highest LL prices and maybe a bit of padding in case of price increases.

We went last year in February around winter break/princess half marathon. Obviously MK was crowded, and there were some parts of HS that were crowded too, but Epcot was the worst - we did go on the deluxe perk 'extended evening hours day' and it was also downpouring all day. We do not plan on going to any park that has a designated extended evening hours day b/c we just don't plan on utilizing them ! But others may have that idea.

We do have almost a full arrival day to relax, and a rest day in between our park days, and a full rest day before our vacaation is over. I'm hoping to just bring my patience with me!

My husband and I were also teachers, whose Disney trips happened in the heat and humidity of summer. We retired and headed to Disney one April. We brought our camper, so we were able to stay for the two weeks surrounding Easter. The weather was WONDERFUL. Disney crowds started to heat up a day or two before Easter and a day or two after. Easter, itself, was awful. There were more people than I ever imagined. We arrived at the park for rope drop but only stayed about two hours. We literally couldn't move. There were people everywhere.

Best wishes with whatever you decide.

We are in a very similar situation. (Ex)H and I are both teachers, so we always went during the summers (Aug) as the kids were growing up.
Now DD21 is also a teacher, so DS23, DD21, and I will be trying the Wed-Sun after Easter this year to avoid the humidity of August.
DD21 just went with her father from Dec 26-Jan1 and said crowds were only terrible Dec 30 and 31, but she loved the weather.
We are of the mindset that we are fortunate enough to have been many times before and will have many more trips in the future, so we don't need to see and do everything. I expect to be hot, but it has to be better than the oppressive heat and humidity, that doesn't even go away at night. At the very least, I expect pleasant mornings and evenings.

We live about 1.5 hr drive from WDW and are AP and DVC for the past 30 years so I think we have been to WDW for every major holiday and every date in-between! 10-15 yrs ago we could count on September and January having lower crowds but now, all bets are off. We sometimes go during a non-typical vacation time and find it just as crowded as any other time! We have been the past 2 Easter weekends and were expecting mass crowds and did not see it. We also went NYE the past 2 years and while it was crowded, like other posters said, we did the things we wanted to do. I think Easter 2027 might be busier because it is early (late March) so it coincides with many Spring Breaks. FL Spring Breaks for both public and private schools typically happen in mid March as do many in the South so when Easter is later, like this year, at least you avoid that overlap. As I mentioned, the reality is there are no predictable lower crowd times anymore. Go with works best for you!
