Thoughts on double stroller vs. 2 umbrella strollers

Were leaving in 3 days, and Im wondering whether its best to bring our big double stoller for the boys, or if we should bring 2 small umbrella strollers? The big one did great last time, but isnt there a few things like the train at MK that we wouldnt be able to take it on?

Anyone have any experience or suggestions? Perhaps Ive ran out of things to plan and am now just over analyzing everything

If you have used the double at Disney before and it isn't too big/bulky to lug on and off the buses, I would bring that one. We have a double umbrella and I know there were times when I was by myself w/ the kids and having two strollers would have been hard to manage.
I can't help you w/ the train question. Hopefully someone else can.
Have fun on your trip!!!!

:thumbsup2We managed just fine before with the double, were driving so that does eliminate some of the hassle. Thanks for the advice

We took the double last time and hated it. I am taking 2 umbrellas this time, so much easier to fold up and carry along. Plus if we need to split up we both still have strollers. I didn't like having to fight some areas to get the double in and I was left with lugging it around when we split up and hubbie took oldest to the bigger rides!

I would think that due to the ages of your kids that 2 strollers would be easier to push. We don't own a double stroller. We are taking two stollers - Mac Volo (we used this one last time for DS and love it) and a $7 stroller we picked up at a consignment sale.

I am going in 10 days and we are bringing 2 umbrellas plus stroller connectors. That is the best of both worlds. :)

We used two umbrella strollers on our trip, but I think we could have just brought our Combi double and been fine. We had "extra" adults with us (my parents and brother), so I thought we'd split the kids up more, but the girls wanted to be together. When it was just DH & I with the kids, having two strollers was a little bit of a pain. I had the connectors, but we used them only a few times to lock the strollers together when we went into a ride/show where we thought the strollers would get moved around. As for the MK train, you can't bring any kind of stroller on it from what I understand.

I think you could do either and be fine. We also stayed at SSR - it's a great resort, hope you have a wonderful trip! We stayed in the Grandstand section, fantastic quiet pool with a spray area for kids that my DDs loved.

I would'nt use an umbrella stroller because I am 5'9" & have to stoop over to push it & the wheeels are closer together & I keep kicking them. Plus most umbrella strollers don't lay back in case they get tired & need to pass out.

woot.. newb post!!!

anyways... We went with our family back in December.. our (i guess its DS) was 6 months and our DD had just turned 4. We opted for our regular Graco stroller and our smaller Combi umbrella.

Our reasoning was this... two kids.. easier to use if we have to split up for anything. The Graco was able to recline so we could change the little one or if he fell asleep. Also, the cargo capacity below is much larger and easier to get to than our Sit'n'Stand.

if our DD got tired, resting in the SnS is too much of a hassle, although she now moves the cover behind her and uses it to hold her back as support.

We are planning to do a day next month and more than likely might do the same. He'll be 16 months and she will be 5. So much easier, IMO... if I want to move on ahead or do other things, I can quickly go with her in the Combi (although it can be a pain to steer, but not any more so than the SnS), rather than pulling her behind me or carrying her halfway accross the park.

Since we will have out of town family, i'd rather do that as they can oooh and aahh with the DS while shopping, and me and the DD will go to Thunder Mountain, etc...
