We bought SSR and booked a week in a 2br at BLT for october. I booked right at the 7 mth mark and had no problems getting what I wanted.

That's great-I'm guessing it was a dedicated 2 bedroom (they seem to have more availability at 7 months) vs a 2 bedroom lock off-studios seem to go so fast

Studios go fast,which turn the lock-offs into one bedrooms.

we "dipped our toes in the water" with a resale SSR purchase, not really knowing if we would like SSR but we were very pleased after we stayed there. It really is a great value compared to other buy ins. Will probably be buying more points at PVB because that has been our favorite resort for many years, but we are also eager to try other DVC resorts. Generally buying where you want to stay is the best rule of thumb, thus our desire to add on with PVB, but in the past two years we have been able to stay at BCV and AKV in addition to SSR. Its really just the timing and luck, so if you really know you want to stay at a particular resort most of the time, then buy there.

That's a good buy at $70 per point with 2015 points still attached.
