Thoughts appreciated...

I have the WBTA 2019 booked b2b with the British Isles cruise, but I'm torn between going to Paris for a few nights including a visit ti DLP then to London before boarding the WBTA or flying into Scotland for a couple of days then taking a train to York for one night and then a train to London for 2-3 nights before heading to Dover for the WBTA instead of doing a b2b with the British Isles? What are your thoughts?

I know that for myself I’d skip DLP and just do Paris.

For you, you have to ask yourself what interests YOU more. Do you want to do Disney, see some art museums, hit some cafes?

Or would you rather explore the Highlands, see some castles, and see more of what London has to offer? Maybe visit some free museums?

I personally would choose Paris & Disneyland Paris. That's what we're doing before & after our Med cruise next year: Disneyland Paris before the cruise, and Paris after the cruise.

I'd stick with the b2b. Your other plan sounds exhausting. I've never understood why people want to go to Paris to go to Disneyland when they've been to Disneyland or WDW. Its the same thing just not as good. I'm booked on the WBTA. We may go to Paris before the cruise, but certainly not to see Disneyland. I would love to do the B2B, but it would cost too much for the four of us. Hotels, trains, food, Disneyland....I'm not sure how it compares to the cost of the cruise. What is the cost difference?

We did a B2B Med./WBTA a couple of years ago and the first one was port-intensive and exhausting. The second on was our vacation from our vacation. We have done both London and Paris. Each is unique and worth visiting for at least a few days. On our B2B we were based out of Barcelona, my new favorite city. Europe is truly like a smorgasbord...hard to pick which city/town/berg is the best. Rick Steves books and videos can help you decide. If you can't decide, flip a coin or let your pet decide (super bowl style).

Reading everyone's responses, looks like what everyone would do is all over the map!

If you do the british isles remember that it is port intensive. So do you have a plan on what you will see and do in each port? What interests you more? Scottish Highlands or the City of Lights? The Europe cruises are typically some of the more expensive ones, so if money is a concern, you could cancel that cruise and have plenty of funds to see and do lots of other touring. Just depends on what you want to see and do.

We did almost all of DLP on a Random Monday in the offseason. I don't know if that would be possible anymore. Some attractions were closed due to low attendance. Just remember you can't spend a lot of time moving from place to place as you miss out on 'time on the ground'. A week quickly becomes a handful of days if you have to take trains from scotland and france to London and dover.

Makes me tired just reading about it. We're unabashed Disney fans but there's too many places to visit in France without taking the time to visit DLP.
