Sorry to hear this news, Tim. Can't begin to imagine what your DMiL is feeling and thinking, but I'm sure she must be very anxious and afraid.

Hopefully her family with be able to help her to focus on the benefits of the surgery and subsequent treatment.

Some news - MIL has had the results of the her bone scan and CT scan and they both came back clear

After discussing the options with her oncologist she has agreed to a course of chemo which will last 18 weeks and then a further 15 sessions of radiation treatments.

That course of treatment sounds similar to what my mum had, 8 yrs later and she is still fit and well

So happy to hear the scans were clear! While it sounds like a lot, the chemo and radiation will go by rather quickly. I've known many who have found ginger snaps to help with some of the side affects. I'll be thinking of her!
