We made an offer on a 200 pt poly resale contract last Feb, we were sitting at a table at VGF waiting to head to the airport. I hadn’t found this site yet but I put in what I thought was a low offer not thinking anything would happen. Our offer was accepted within 2 hours with no counter, and after finding this site I found out we paid right around the average price for the board. We ended up closing in May.

We just took our welcome home trip, we had never stayed at the Poly but we had visited many times and did a room tour and loved the resort, it reminded us of our trip to Aulani a few years ago. We did a 3 resort split stay VGF, AKL, and Poly with 3 nights of a 1 BR, 5 nights total.

I’ve heard multiple people say they wish they would have bought sooner and now I know why, this was the best purchase we could have made. We have 3 boys 12, 8, and 1 and they loved the DVC rooms as much as we did. This was our fourth trip to WDW, and we’ve stayed at WL, BC and CSR on prior trips but the 1 BR villas, especially VGF were no comparison.

If you’re here because you’re trying to decide, take the plunge. It was worth it for us and we’re already booked for 6 nights over Christmas with 3 nights in a 1 BR at BRV through Christmas Day.

Yep, those 1 br.s are nice, especially w/ longer vacations!

Love the Poly renovation, and the lake view room is one of my favorite in the system.

Sure, maybe you could have bought a couple bucks cheaper, this is a couple hundred dollar discussion. Most of the cost is dues anyway, and Poly is a great choice. Don't sweat a couple hundred bucks in the bigger transaction picture.

We have a 3 nights in a lake view booked in December with 3 nights BRV after. This will be over Christmas and we are looking forward to the Poly lake view as we have not stayed in one of those rooms yet.

Any suggestions on room requests for the lake view. I’m assuming highway floor available?

Upper floor is key. Frist floor is mostly a view of the bungalows. Not everyone likes the lake views if you are light sleeper the ferry horns start going off early and often.

I have never been to Aulani, but the Poly gives me such a laid back island vibe when walking around the resort, it really just hits me different than most resorts and it is definitely one of my top two if not sometimes #1. (Boardwalk just beats it out for a few reasons.)

We've been going to Disney regularly since 2006 and bought into DVC in 2014 and never regretted it, it has without doubt elevated our trips while not really increasing the costs. (We were generally moderate people and honestly would not dream of staying off property.) Just bought our fourth contract (and first direct) at VDH for the occasional Disneyland trip.

After years of visiting WDW and DL staying in resorts right off property or value and moderate resorts on site, we finally purchased DVC resale last year at The Grand Californian saving over $20000 buying direct from Disney.

We made the decision to have a full kitchen with freezer (I have heat sensitivity and need to wear ice packs), multiple bathrooms (there are 6 of us) and just wanting more room to spread out and relax, when not in the parks.

Since last year we have enjoyed a 2 bedroom Villa at GC and my husband and I went to Hilton Head for our anniversary. We are in love with Villa life and will never look back.

Dvc really does transform your life. I wanted to do it for 10+ years and would gently nudge dh every year. He would always shut it down. Then I found resale and he said yes. I was shocked. We bought 400 points right away. Of course he loved it. He was like why didn’t you make me do this ten years ago? 🙄.

I always wanted DVC but just couldn’t afford it. As soon as I could, I bought in (resale). The only thing I’m still salty about is, I was able to afford it a few months after they added the restrictions of not being able to use resale points at the new resorts.

The thing is though, none of the new resorts seem better than my beloved Poly, Grand, or Wilderness Lodge. As long as they continue making DVC resorts that don’t beat the theming and feel of those original DVC properties, it’s not bothering me much.

But owning DVC is AMAZING. No other product gives you so many wonderful and different, beautiful themed hotels to stay in at your leisure. Such an amazing luxury. I even love just checking availability all the time for no reason :)

Nice thing about PVB is they have the connecting studios so once your kids get old enough, you just get two studios and open the middle door.

Works out to be around the same point cost as a 1 bedroom.
