Thought on troops

Does anyone think maybe we should bring some troops home from Iraq to help with our disaster and our people? Just a thought.

I think there are enough in the states that it is not necessary. More troops at this point will have to have more food/places to sleep, etc. for themselves. Logistics of getting that many to the area would be a problem too. I don't think anyone has said we were short of troops stateside. It is just a slow process to get there.

I did hear they were bringing a La NG battalion home that had been there about a year.

Just the logisitics of getting them home-its not as simple as go home and work on the hurricane-theres equipment that has to be shipped and limited transport available-troop movements are planned well in advance. And there are adequate troops in the states-lack of troops is not the issue at all
