Thought I would be doing the happy dance, but. . .

Okay, I'm in serious need of some Pixie Dust. We are supposed to leave on our Disney trip this Thursday. However, yesterday my Father-in-law went into the hospital with a burst appendix. The cast was supposed to be my Mother-in-Law, Father-in-law (who are paying for the trip), my Brother-in-law and sister-in-law and their DD (8) and DS (6), my husband, me and our DD (6). At this point there is no way my FIL can go. Our best plan is that he will NOT get an infection and will be out of the hospital by Wednesday, at which time son #3 who was not going on the trip will fly in and take care of his dad so mom can go.

Our family of three has already been to Disneyword x2 and will go again (and again ) but our niece and nephew have a) never been to Disneyworld and b) never really been on a family vacation. My MIL is insisting we go so the kids are not dissapointed, but we want her there to see the magic. She saved for a year to make this happen. My FIL was never too excited to go, so I don't think he is too bummed to miss it, but he is insisting my MIL go.

I'm not sure what is going to happen, but any prayers or pixie dust would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I hope your FIL has a speedy recovery but I know what a disappointment the whole sequence of events must be. It's especially hard when someone can't go who you really wanted to be there.

Thanks, all, for the good thoughts. and Pixie Dust. He is still in the hospital and will be for another couple of days. So, plan F, G or H (forget which we are on right now)! Our travel agent is talking to Disney to see what our options are. If he gets out of the hospital on Thursday, can MIL come down Friday? Saturday? How will that impact our travel insurance? We come back on Monday, so at some point we'll have to call it. However, my DD (6) and her cousin (8) are doing the BBB at 9:00 a.m. on Easter while my nephew (6) is doing Pirate League. I know she would love to be there to see that. Hopefully we can get him better, out of the hospital, and her on a plane.
