Hi,
Just wondering , for those use VM in Canada, have you ever brought them to WDW ?? wondering if it works there ??

thanks for any info.

I dont know if it is the same as UK. I can take any network including Virgin to America. As long as my phone it triband and can pick up signal its fine. Also I phone the mobile company to let them that I am taking the phone with me. Sometimes they need to activate the phone. I have had no problem speaking or texting people back in the UK from WDW. :goodvibes

mine did not...well actually it did ...some message came on,if I remember correctly and I think I could be connected for $3. a minute. It was a prepaid type of phone. Needless to say I never used it. There is a post on this board about this already with other answers if you do a search.

I have a prepaid plan with Virgin. As soon as we were out of the Canadian transmitters range it did not work. We have pretty basic service with (its not didgital) so that may make a difference. Call them and ask, they have always been very helpful whenever I've called them with a question.

Canadian PREPAID phones do not work in the USA. with the exception of Rogers/Fido. Any postpaid (contract) Canadian provider will work in the USA. without problems, you will of course pay roaming/long distance. What we do is we have a Virgin Mobile USA phone we use while across the border, we just top it up when we see the first place that sells cards over there. Works great and a much cheaper option then bringing our phones over.

I'm a prepaid lover and we ,just 2 weeks ago, got new ones. I checked out all the providers and one of my questions was about using them in the US. No, VM does not work in the US and there is no way to set it up so that it does. You can set up Bell and Rogers with an automatic top up on a creditcard and fill out a form that will enable your phone in the US.

Nope....we always loose the signal as soon as we cross into the US!:guilty: :sad2:

I'm glad you've had good experiences with their service reps. My experiences with their cutomer reps were so bad, especially during an emergency (which is why I got a pay-as-you-go plan) that I switched to a different carrier.:scared1:

Maybe it's just me but customer service answering their calls with "Hey, what's up?" is not how I like to be treated.:sad2:

(Sorry, I know this is totally OT).

The Virgin Mobile website claims they're "working around the clock" to get us service in the States, but it's said that for the past 2 years. They may be working around the clock, but I don't think they're working very hard.
