I want to know which is the best case for it ... I am off next week to go searching for one as a birthday gift .. he has a new touch and now on his gift list is a case / protector for it .... any suggestions .. and budget prices for this thing??? I am looking for any recommendations !!
thanks...

speck products makes some fancy ones, however i'd suggest the one called 'pixel skin' - it covers the touch in a very durable rubber. i'm really good with electronics, but once and a while i will drop it. pixelskin does an awesome job of protecting it from bumps, drops and all that other stuff you dont want to have happen to it!

check them out! :)

If it's for a kid I suggest a DS case. My son is 11 and has a silcone "skin" for his itouch and then he keeps it in a soft sided DS case. The itouch is secured by two elastic bands on either side. He can still access the screen with it in the case. And, if it gets dropped, which it has and will, it will be fine.

I have mine in a case that has a flip cover. It is the size of small wallet. This way I can protect the front, too, when not in use not just the back. I do use a clear screen protection on the face, too. This helps protect against scratches.

thanks for the suggestions.. never knew these existed ..

I am off hunting and browsing the stores !!
thanks.

I just have a silicone sleeve for mine, but it rarely leaves the house. It's fine for now, when I travel it just goes into an old cell phone case.

But I'm subbing for ideas, I know I need to get a hard case that's easy to put it in and out of.

I got this case for my iPod and love it. It feels kinda grippy, so it doesn't slip. it's light and the pattern on the back is nice.
I also got anti glare screen protectors from the apple store.

Do a search for ipod accesories and you can spend hours looking at all the stuff. The one I bought is hard, clear plastic that snaps together over the ipod. It's so thin you hardly know it's there. I'm sorry I don't recall the brand name but I searched on-line and bought it a Best Buy. It was about $25 and at this point I'd buy it again if I needed to replace it.
