Why do parents put those baby shoes that squeak with every step on their kids? Seriousl. I am wondering. Is it so they can hear them if they run away? Do they think it is cute? They are so annoying! It sounds like stepping on a dog toy over and over and over...:rotfl2:

Why you ask?

Becuase with an active 2 year old...it always lets you know where the little guy is. Sorry you're annoyed. BTW, you ever talk on your cell phone in public?

I wasn't meaning to be rude...I was actually wondering. Yes. Everyone does annoying things sometimes. What annoys one person, another person finds cute.

I've never seem these shoes that everyone complains about. Where do you buy them?

I had them for my DD when she was little. She loved them. We never really had any complaints but she wasn't walking all over. It's not like she was running around the mall or the grocery store. She was always in a stroller or cart. She loved. They were cute and she outgrew them in about 6 months. I rarely see them. And DD was the only one that I knew that had them when she was young.

And for the PP, we bought them at a street fair. The guy said he had picked up a pair when he adopted his DD from China. He thought they were great and started producing them. Not sure where else you could get them.

And the funny part is that DD just turned 10 and would love a pair now. :lmao: As they don't come in a women's 9, I think we're all safe from that torture!! :lmao:

I'm with you OP
i dont have kids, so i guess i'm one of those people
but they are annoying...

Also note i take the bells/squeakers out of my cats toys

I love squeaky shoes!! My dd loved them and they really encouraged her to walk. She loved the sound and would laugh as her feet hit the ground and she would dance just to hear the sound......and yes, I did find it cute!

They are very popular in China and we picked up a bunch of them when we were there.

If I am doing something requiring thinking, I will take away the squeaky dog toys and give them a rope bone or something quiet.:rotfl2:

They have their benefits.

A little girl had a pair on when we went out the other night. She ran around through most of dinner. squeak, squeak, squeak. I think most of the diners had pretty big headaches by the end.

The benefit was that the owner must have seen the glares and sensed the growing annoyance as everyone got free cheesecake samplers (except for the parents of the little girl).

I love those shoes! I think it so cute - when I see little ones walking and squeeking they always look sooo excited! Too cute!

Now, if I could ony have one of my own to put those shoes on! ;)

Cause and effect for the child! You walk so u hear a cute [for the child noise]. For my kids I loved it the first 5 minutes then I went and took the squeak out!

I think these fall under the heading of those things that are adorable when your little darling is doing it, not so much when it is someone else's little darling.

I have a five year old, and an almost two year old, and I have never seen nor heard of these shoes...guess I've been missing out!

:thumbsup2 ITA! I've never seen (or heard) those shoes, but I could see how they could be annoying.

::yes::

What ARE these shoes??

::yes::

What ARE these shoes??
They are shoes for toddlers which have a 'squeaker' inside them. Every time the little munchkin takes a step, the shoes will squeak.

We think that they are very cute and will certainly get some for our little girl when she gets big enough.

Oh you betcha. I haven't seen them, but I never would have taken my kid out in those shoes. How loud are they??? Ugh.

I thought it was cute when my son was learning to whistle and wanted to do it ALL the time, but I wouldn't let him do it when we were out in public. Other people have ears too, I'd tell him.

Put it this way....if my teenagers wore shoes like that, you'd have them reported! And rightly so....it's not cute, it's annoying.

I saw those shoes when my DD was a toddler. I just assumed that they were some kind of parental torture device, and moved along to something less headache inducing. Then again, I've been known to put packing tape over the speaker of some of her louder toys, and to "forget" to buy batteries for said toys when they finally run out of juice. :rolleyes1
