What are they called and where can they be found? :confused3 My son saw tons of kids with them at WDW this week and now he wants to ask Santa for a pair.

Thanks,
Santa

called wheelies. not sure where to get them. They used to have them in Dicks and TRus. I haven't seen them lately.

Actually they are called Heelies (atleast in this area, anyway :) )

I've seen them at Bobs stores. They are quite expensive. My DS got them for $75.

You know, I am 45 and I'd love a pair! I think they are just the coolest thing going. I'm always jealous of the kids that can get to where they're going in seconds and it looks so fun. I wish they made them for adults, especially walking around Epcot when you're so tired.

Oh man. I hate those things. I think they are really dangerous, especially at WDW. Sorry :(.

Heelys and you can get them at nordstroms or online at zappos.com.
One warning the sizes run small. My daughter is in a 2 in converse, a three in regular shoes and 5 in heelys.
Zappos has free returns.

Kasey wants them too! I was looking at some in Models a few weeks ago when we were buying her new ice skates but haven't bought them yet....All the kids at the bus stop in the mornings all are skating around on those heelies!

There is a store here called Journey and they carry them too. They are expensive with the average price being $90-$100! Which is high considering at this age they are growing like weeds. :guilty:
In Florida, it is illegal for kids to rollerblade, skate or skateboard on any public walkway, (including WDW) shopping plaza, etc. The sheriff will stop the kids and make them stop skating. (A few years ago there was a rash of parents that tried to sue shopping center owners when their kids would get hurt-so they really try to enforce it)

R U Serious. I just threw my sons out last week. Perfect condition. I didn't think anyone used them any more. They only have a wheel in the heal of the shoe. Should of put them on e-bay. They were a size 10.

They're called Heelys, and you can get them at Big 5 for around $50 and up. I've seen them at Mervyns too. My dd has them and loves them.

I ordered 2 pairs from Dicks on line for $59.00 each, free shipping. They arrive the 10th. I only ordered 1 size up. I hope they fit.

I love Heelies! My little sister and I wore them on our Disney cruise a few years ago (and yes, we are now and were then fully grown adults!)! They can be dangerous, but we always used caution and never heeled in crowds or on broken surfaces (rocks, cracked concrete, etc...and never on rides or in queu for rides). :cool1:

I am very envious of the ones who can heel backwards- 5 years of trying and I still can not manage it!

Dh just bought our four kids some at Academy Sports for $15 each. They look like tennis shoes, but the wheels pop out the bottom with the press of a button.

The cheaper ones have all 4 wheels that pop out on the bottom with a click of a button. They even sell them at Toys-R-Us with different themed characters. The ones with one wheel in the heel are Heelys. The website to read all about them is www.heelys.com They have tons of info on the different models etc. We had to figure this all out for Santa too. Bought ours at Sports Authority for around $50-$60. I hope they fit OK--only bought 1 size up.

I just saw a kid with these about two months ago. Where does this stuff come from? Why should I be blindsided? Were they in some movie, or highly advertised to some select TV market?

I need to know!
