those of you whom has stayed at GF-a ?

title should be...whom have stayed at GF....

I have two different resort rooms reserved for the first week of December. Our group will include my parents and my five year old which will stay in one room.

The other room will be my husband, myself and our three year old twins.

Right now I have two room types reserved and they are:

1. Deluxe/garden view in an outer building

2. Standard room/lagoon view in an outer building

Here are my questions:

Never having stayed at the GF, I'd like to know which has more room-deluxe or standard room? My twins are used to their own beds and I may try to bring a blow up mat for them.

Also, should I try to get the same kind of room so they may be closer together incase my oldest has an issue and needs to get to me?

Finally, are the outer buildings okay or should I push for the main building, if possible.

We are excited about switching from BLT to GF. I just want this first and probably only vacation with my parents to be a good one.

The deluxe rooms are larger than the standard rooms as they have an extra seating area. If you want the rooms to be close to each other, it would be a good idea to try and get the same room type. The GF is a beautiful resort and is not so large that it takes a lot of walking to get around, so the outer buildings are fine. With that said, all rooms in the main building are CL (Royal Palm Club), so if you wanted to stay there, you would have to book that specific category. The main building is quite a bit more expensive than all of the other outer building rooms, but it is also an amazing experience, IMO .

Thank you for your response Disney Nut....I'm on hold trying to get the same type room. Will they do a roll away bed in either? Two queens just doesn't seem like enough for my H and the two babies to sleep comfortably.


It's hard to change your mind set after planning a vacation for over a year. I really do appreciate your thoughts-thank you.

You're welcome ....and I do understand about changing your mind set when you've been planning on one resort for so long and then switch. They should be able to provide you with a roll away upon request, but you might want to put in a request for rooms with a daybed. Most rooms at the GF come with daybeds, but there are some rooms that do not. When we stayed at the GF in December 2010, we were assigned a room without a daybed. I asked if there was another room available with a daybed and they were able to accommodate us, but it also depends on availability at the time. To be safe (although it still isn't guaranteed), I'd put a daybed as a request on the reservations so at least the room assigner knows what kind of room you're looking for. If at check in you are assigned rooms without daybeds, I would ask if other rooms are available and they will do everything they can to accommodate you.
