Those of you who watch the WB Network, does this "fresh" jargon annoy you?

For the past few weeks, the WB has been calling all of the New episodes it airs "fresh". So now we are treating to such gibberish as "Coming next week, a fresh episode of Smallville" or "A fresh Angel begins now". I find this really annoying for some reason. It feels like I am being talked down to.

And what about the reruns? If the new episodes are fresh, shouldn't the reruns be stale. I can just hear it: "Stay tuned for a stale old episode of Angel". :hyper:

It doesn't bother me too much - at least they are finally SHOWING new episodes.

guess they are trying to 'get with' the lingo for the younger crowd.

fresh

to mean it is acceptable and highly approved by someone.

Orgin: Hiphop Mid 80's Ny

Fresh is derived as in the sense of seeing something brand new and is attracting people like cars in commercials. but is used to refer to anything highly approved by someone.

"Those are some fresh shoes!"

"Lets go to Darrels Shop they got fresher records down there".

Yes - my husband and I have both commented on it. "Kitchen Fresh Chicken" bugs us, too.

I am getting pretty annoyed by the announcements that *Only 3 more episodes remaining until the series final episode*

Thanks Monkey Boy. I was aware of the meaning. I'd just prefer the TV announcers didn't spout hiphop at me. It just comes off as contrieved and insulting.

My partner and I said the same thing this past Monday. We only watch Everwood on the WB but hear the FRESH tag line used sooooo many times.

It reminds me of a pizza outlet ad that constantly used FRESH to describe their toppings.

 :hyper:

Combine the lingo with the wind-beneath my hair glamour shots and you have one very high WB cheese factor. Ok, its kinda cute when young Rory Gilmore is doing it but when 40+ James Marsters is lounging on furniture like a Victoria Secret model I just want to gag.

YESSSSSSSS!!! ::yes::

i was just commenting about this to dh the other night. it is really annoying.

We watched the WB for the first time last night, re-runs of The Simpsons, and then Steve Harvey's Big Time.

The thing that cracked us up was this phrase "Fresh from the Frog".

And I do mean it cracked us up.......my DH and I were shaking from laughing so hard at that.
Whoever came up with that catchphrase should be fired!

Awww, c'mon! They're just being different...

And it annoys me too.

And yet, you are watching the WB network....:teeth:

Sorry, but isn't that their niche? :p
