Do you ask for the specific resort you want first or do you ask for the code first. I want to call, but I want to have my options open! If I don't get a code, I want to book the Value family suite, if I do, I want to book Deluxe. Smaller room, but better pool, location, ambiance, etc.

Help me out! I don't want to make a fool of myself! :rolleyes1

I always have them price several options for comparison and then ask if there are any discounts available to me. Then they tell me no.:confused3

I've called multiple times trying to get the 40% off. I just mention the codes and tell them I'm open for any time in Nov or Dec (except Thanksgiving or Christmas week). However as soon as they look at my profile they tell me all three of the codes I've given them are PIN codes and I don't qualify for any of them. I never even get a chance to ask for a specific resort.

Darn. I want to call and see if I qualify but I can't make myself do it. I'll feel foolish when they tell me there's no pin for me. Stupid I know, but I can't bring myself to try it. :rolleyes1

Anyone want to call for me? :rotfl:

I just called and if you ask them if a pin code is attached to your name they will look for you. I didn't have one.....:sad2:

I called another time this morning and talked to a lady that wasn't very friendly and asked if there were any discounts for when we want to go and she told me no.

2 strikes for me today....

Don't feel foolish...it is their job to check. I called and had a lovely CM on the phone. She looked for the discount under my name and then checked my Dad's name to see if the code was under his name. Nope. :sad1: She then said to call back in March and check again.
If someone isn't nice to you on the phone then asked to speak to a supervisor and tell them about the person.

I call and ask almost every day! It certainly can't hurt to ask (good thing we have free long-distance). It's their job to help us out, so if you encounter rudeness, you should complain...but in my personal experience, the CMs are overwhelmingly friendly and helpful!

I politely say, "hello, I'm just calling to find out if there are any discount PIN codes attached to my name or phone number for my dates of travel..." Then they ask me to verify my name, address, phone number, etc...Usually they even check in two or three places before ultimately telling me "so sorry, but no, not at this time." I persevere and ask if there are any discounted deals available to the public for those dates (which I know pretty certainly, there aren't, but it can't hurt to ask). Most CMs encourage me to keep trying back in hopes that either there will be a PIN for me or a discount available for the general public. There usually is a public discount for my dates (late summer), so I'm not losing hope.

Just making that phone call makes me feel happy. I even like the "hold" music and usually sing along, all loud and off-key!:) I'm having a magical day just thinking about it!:cloud9:

Does your dad live with you? My MIL went a few years ago and took my BIL and his family, I wonder if she's got a code LOL She doesn't live with us, but we all have traveled together before.....maybe I should call and see if she has a code connected to her address/name. But then how would I book?

Okay, strange...just called and got one rude CM that said they can not check addresses and names for discounts! She said it didn't matter that I'd gotten it done in the past, they were not allowed to do that. Okay....thanks BYE! Called right back and got a great CM that said sure, and then checked my MIL's information and said "when was the last time you checked, we have a very good discount we can apply to your ressie". It was rooms for 49.00 a night, for Sept 30th through Oct 6th with 4 day tix and the dining package. It ended up being 2253.00 for the total! WOWZERS! I just checked online and for the same dates, paying what Disney.com quotes me it's 2356.00.....103.00 difference? And she told me that it was being booked up quickly so she'd place it on a two week hold but to not wait too long....what????? Why no difference other than the 103.00? Am I getting a discount? She said the dining added 936.00. I checked and buying the 4 day tix by themselves would be 808.00 and a hotel at 49.00 a night times 6 nights would be 294.00, plus taxes and fees. So pricing it out all separately ends up at 2038.00....now I'm really really confused! Any insight?

TheRatPack,

Call back and double-check those prices you were quoted. Maybe she meant 7 days?? I was given incorrect pricing info on Monday, which really confused me when I went on-line to double check. On line, travel insurance is not included (that's $59.00 per adult), but I was ending up with quotes SEVERAL hundred $$ lower on-line. I called back, and it turned out the numbers I got on the phone were just wrong. Sometimes there is an error in your favor! (But for me, alas, still no discount.)

Did the CM quote you with a standard room or preferred? Was insurance included in the price? That could be the difference.:confused3

They quoted me standard room, and it included insurance. It seemed really odd....and with my first call getting the rude CM that said they couldn't even check based on your address...etc I hated to call back. Guess I will though, doesn't seem like that great of a deal, but maybe it's just because the POP is cheaper anyway? Maybe I should get a quote for the CR LOL

Oh and I wonder if it matters if I book it under my MIL's information? Last time she traveled with my BIL, the time before that she traveled with us. I didn't think it would make a difference since we're the ones that pay for the trip....she just gets the discounts, figures!

When I called to see if I had a pin code, I was told no. When I called with the specific code, all the sudden I magically was qualified for the offer. I did ask for a specific resort, and a specific room type, we are in a deluxe room at the BWI because there are six of us and that is the only non suite room in disney that sleeps six, and we did get the 40% off package with dining

Sure I'll call for you Tracey, but come on you are a pro!

I just called and asked about a code. The lady was very nice and updated all my info ( I've moved and was married since my last visit) She also took my email address.THen told me no codes were attached:sad1: . Has anyone ever been emailed a code or should I just keep watching in the mail.. I really hope I get a codeprincess: My Dh and I want to take our 2 y/o daughter in Sept/Oct..

My DH has received two codes via email and one postcard in the past, not this time unfortunately. I've never gotten any and yet I'm the one who always goes to Disney, he only goes occasionally.

Never hurts to call - I received a call from a Disney manager about the email I sent over all the pin confusion (whole other issue.) She told me I DID have a pin attached to my name for last December and January. I was just never notified.

We are looking to go in November what number do you call to check. I have AAA and the price she gave me seemed high even for Thanksgiving week so I'd love to check for a code. Thanks for any help!
