Those Final Few Days ... How Do You Motivate Yourself?

The tickets are here (Yaaaayyyy !!!), the itinerary is done, stuff is ready to be packed, new things bought, camera and camcorder cleaned and charged ... not much left to do but wait.

Just 5 days left. DW and I are even more excited than the kids. We've been to Florida so many times I can't count but it's been 5 years since we've done Disney and we can't wait to go back now ... work is the last thing I want to do!

So how do you all motivate yourselves for those last, painful, slow few days at work?

Think all of us that are stuck here and have MONTHS to go. Yes, I am jealous!!!!

If we're going with friends, we have regular planning evenings once we've booked. We'll get together, say on a Saturday evening, over drinks and nibbles (or maybe something more, but not anything which we need to spend hours over), put on the Millennium Celebration CD, talk about what we want to do and reminisce about past trips. Even if it's just us and the kids going, we still do the same, but on more of an ad-hoc basis.

As the trip gets nearer, we step it up a notch. This time we fly on a Thursday. We'll probably have a get-together on the Saturday or Sunday and again on the Wednesday.

I know what you mean, though - work is usually even more unbearable than usual during the last few days!

I must admit I always make a point of reminding my colleagues constantly that I will be in sunny Flroida while they are slaving away over a hot PC

I just try to check ,check and recheck everything to keep myself busy, mind you I packed at the 5 month out mark!!!!. Talk to anybody who will listen LOL
