Thongs on board?

We were touring St Maarten by taxi once, and the driver took us to whatever the nude beach is there. We saw an older fellow walking along.
All my kids did was say "Ewwwwww" :rotfl::rotfl:

We were in Curacao one time, coming back from a snorkel trip by boat. There was a really pretty young lady on the beach, topless. I mentioned it, and then laughed myself silly watching my husband and his old college buddies all scrambling to find their glasses....:rotfl2: Sadly for them, they were too late, she'd picked up a towel by the time the old guys could see.:cool2:

Funny... funny... funny... Whats even more funny is how all of the men think we women don't know why they wear those :cool2: ! Serves your hubby right trying to do that in front of you. :rotfl:

This reminds me of what we saw in OKW in Oct 08, we were enjoying a stroll around the town and walked down near the beach only to see a slim middle aged male walking towards our 13yr old daughter with what can be described as a flesh coloured tube that started at the back and then a "cigar shaped tube" tied with cord at the front. I remember the shock and horror on her face as she tried to walk away but the curiosity got the better of her and followed him for a second, my wife and I were laughing although shocked as we are aware how prudish the "States" can seem, although they are really.

We are in Barcelona for 2 cruises this summer and will keep an eye open for this guy.

So I take it that your husband strolls around on beaches wearing the same flesh colored get up that man was wearing then..??? funny. Why doesn't he??? :rotfl: We Americans are not prudes... we just have class.

OMG !!! This is sooo funny! Now is that your husband on the phone lying on his back in the middle of all the naked girls looking up and all around??? Not so sure he is oblivious to the naked girl statues...... Very funny. Thanks for posting. :rotfl:

No, the guy lying down was a statue too! :rotfl: I thought he was the best part of the piece!

You guys are hilarious! Now as for me, if I ever wore a thong ANYWHERE in public, the CDC would have to come after me because it would surely make everybody sick! lol.

Personally, I hate seeing men in Speedos. I think "Board short" stye suits are much more flattering

There are some swimming pools in southern Europe where board shorts are not allowed, only speedo type suits.

We Americans are not prudes... we just have class.
:rolleyes1:confused:

I see thast the orginal poster is the same as the smoking thread. ;)
I just want to assure you not to worry. Children tend not to care what others have on or lack of in some cases. I would not worry about swim thongs on the ship. Most of us have kids and I tell you have been years away from the thong days. I think some of the outfits people wear these days are more revealing than a thong. If you are worried, I sure hope you are not doing the Eastern ever.... That is for sure a lack of all....
The kids really do not pay attention to the human body. It is us adults that teach them that shame.
You sure know how to get the buzzz threads... If you want another one, start a allergy thread"; those always get heated....
Just like dinner dress code, pictures/videos in the WDT. All start popcorn:: threads.

we had this issue when we went to St. Maarten. my girls were 5 & 9. We just talked to them before the trip and told them that other people in other countries do things differently. We actually did see a "older" man in a thong. lots of topless too!

mmmmmmmmmmmm, this turned out to be a fun light hearted thread.
If at first................

European family's mother and teenage daughter proudly decked out in thongs for our entire first cruise. They are in the background of one of our CC pictures. It happens.

Lighten up!....perhaps the OP was scared by a 'smok'in thong' as a child!!!

;)

:lmao::lmao::lmao:

No, not at all.......

It's just that God gave me a brain that told me NOT to inhale smoke into my lungs on purpose while flossing my butt with my bathing suit! :lmao::lmao::lmao: :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

op, I love your refreshing attitude and ability to spread laughter. This is one of the punniest threads I have read. I am also not fond of smoke and I would love to protect the innocent eyes and lungs of my children.

I'd have to guess that after kid #3, 4 or 5, not too many people COULD wear a thong.....brains or no brains.

We were on the Magic Western on Jan. 23 and the day we went to Key West I had to run back to the ship because as we walked off the ship, the DH turns to look at me and says "are you going to get a hat or just get your head sunburned?" (I have total perm. hair loss from radiation tx and just forget sometimes that I don't have my wig on  ) So I say I will meet him & the kids somewhere on the square in 10 minutes. So I get back off the ship and am looking around for them. I see the DH in the distance near what looks like a museum with some cool looking, realistic statues. Oh, good, some culture.

I get a little closer and see the kids running around in a circle of statues. How cute!

I get even closer. They are running around a circle of NAKED LADY statues!! :lmao: DH is on the phone, totally oblivious. I told him we were going to get our parenting license taken away if he wasn't careful!

Of course, I had to document the fact...

LOVE the little kid standing to the side of the above...

Okay, so not really real looking, but pretty funny...

Glad to see I wasn't the only one taking advantage of this unique photo op....

I couldn't NOT do it....

Why did I open this thread!:rotfl:That 08 repo thong was out of my memory and now it's back!I don't have a problem with people wearing thongs, but she just had to take over a big section on the side of the pool and when she would roll over from front to back she did it like it was a yoga pose and she had to stretch everything. I don't think she ever used a lounge chair. But I had to give her props for her cougar status, he husband had to be at least 25 years younger than her.

Hey! don't knock it untill you try it...it's a real eye-opener!!
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Oh, I have tried it. I wear thong underwear all the time! Love em! (So does my husband by the way) Just don't really think it's quite appropriate to wear a thong bathing suit on a cruise ship that has a high number of kids around that's all. Just my opinion. It's no biggie.... we may see a butt or 2 or 3 or 4 (if you know what I mean.... LOL:laughing:) I will just have a little talk with my kids first so they know they may see this. Have a magical day!!! :hippie:

Thanks! It has been a fun thread hasn't it? Glad it has given so many people a good laugh... including myself. :rotfl2: :lmao: :cutie: :hippie:
