Thomsons Dreamliner or Virgin 747?

I have been planning the next trip since we got back earlier this month, going back seemed inevitable so I thought why bother putting it off, so we are looking to go back in October 2014.

I already have the Disney side sorted with a reservation but need to sort out flights. This year we went with Virgin and flew econ, managed to get seats in the bubble and the experience wasn't as bad as I thought it would be (not flown in over 10 years). Anyway, I have been stalking the Virgin and BA website for the past few weeks waiting for dates to open up, and it looks like the dates we want to go 27/10 - 3/11 are going to be crazy expensive for Virgin due to I assume school holidays (why do children have to spoil everything). BA is an option but I can't help think the experience will not be as good as Virgin.

So last night I took a look at the Thompson site to see what they could offer, I will have to finesse the dates a little but would be willing to go premium for the prices they were offering. Just wondering what others experiences have been with Thompson and how much of an inconvenience not flying into MCO is? I would want to get a cab or something to Disney property as I didn't enjoy renting a car last trip.

Is the dreamliner any good, how good is premium? Would anyone recommend it over Virgin?

we flew Thomson last summer pre the dreamliner and actually fond them OK better than our experience with BA (but only used them long haul to cayman and they use a diff craft to mco) and a hundred times better than AA airlines man- new york. We flew to Sanford and although slightly further out we preferred landing there to MCO - we were in our hire car 40 mins after touch down. May be I would still choose Virgin first but only if prices were comparable.

We only fly in eccon so can not comment on the premium eccon comparison
Also worth check the virgin fly drive prices (virgin holidays) and the price of a virgin package (travelcity) as both these virgin companies prices can sometimes come up much cheaper than the virgin flight only prices. If you don't mind a 4-5hr drive to orlando the new cheapy airline norweigen has some amazing prices through to next oct flying into FLL.

Hello!

How exciting that you are planning another trip already - I am so jealous!

I have returned from my trip to Florida on 18th Nov and flew economy of the Thomsons Dreamliner. Bear in mind we haven't ever flow Virgin before but I was really impressed with the service and aircraft. It was very comfortable and seemed to have more room than usual. We were very impressed and agreed we'd be more than happy to fly with them again.

Flying into Sandford is fine but I'd imagine it's a little far out to get a taxi - we hired a car and drove but if you don't want to do I'm sure you could pre-book some sort of mini bus transport - I'd definitely recommend doing it in advance though - I think if you flagged down a taxi there it would be very expensive.

Happy plannning!!

I was so disappointed when all the planned had been done last time, so unless I setup a travel agents going again was the only solution!

Pre-booking transport would be a must I think!

I think not flying into MCO getting out of the airport may be a bit quicker, less chance of a backlog of other bit planes.. The Dreamliner may be a better option. The prices seem very good when I looked last night
