We,ve just used this service to pre-select our seats for both our outward and return flights and got the seats we wanted ( 3 rows on right hand side windows). We like right hand side, because you can see the coast line all the way down from Canada to Florida. It cost £5 each, eachway. We already had seating together so we're not charged for that. We can relax now because on a couple of previous trips, the family have been split up, and thats not good with children.

We are travelling with Thomson next year, how do you pre-select the seats? Can you only do this a couple of months in advance? What info do you need to do this?

Did you get a copy of the aircraft layout - not sure which plane type we will be using but we are flying from Newcastle.

Thanks

I think we are on the same flight arn't we?

Did you book the premium seats to access this service - im tempted to upgrade, but not sure of the cost and would also like to prebook seats, although i did prebook seats together. Did you do it online or ring the call centre

Thanks

Hi to you both. Yes karen we are on same flight I think. Any one on a Thomson plane can use this service. We,re booked in standard seats. This is direct phone number 0870 1900 737. I think it was option 2 to get relevent person to book. When you give your booking information, they check to see what type of plane will be used and what seats are available. Then you just pick the seats you want. I think our seating plan is 2-3-2. First 14 rows are premium seats. If you have'nt got seating together already booked this will double the cost, if not more. You can make bookings 4 weeks before travel.
We've used this service 4 times before and only on the first occasion did we have a problem!! ( when we checked in, they had given our seats away):mad: We did get money back and up grade on the way back. That was about 5 years ago. Since then it seems to work very well, with out any problems. When you phone just ask for select your seat service. Bye for now.

hope that you don't mind me asking but since you have experience with booking Thomson I wonder if you could tell me how much luggage allowance you have...and also if it increases for the premium seats......we are hoping to go in 2010 and are hoping to get as much info as possible about different companies etc. before we go firm on anything.

Thanks for that!:thumbsup2

Will let you know how i get on - we booked thru Flydeals tho, so hope they can find the booking reference number - and havent received our tickets yet!

Kx....ooohh it's getting so close!!!:cool1::banana:

I think our allowance is 20kgs but will have to wait until tickets arrive. Premium allowance might be 23kgs, but i'm not sure.
Forgot to say that all seat numbers and names were E-mailed to me straight after call.

When we booked for 2010 we were told that the luggage allowance was 20kg for standard class travel and 23kg for premium class.

Thanks Fozzie for this post -I would have never have known about 'select your seats' on a Thomsons plane, as there doesn't seem to be any info on it - not even when my tickets came - it wasn't mentioned as an extra???

Anyways i rang last week and booked - right hand side as you said about the view -also enquired on prices to upgrading to premium seats - well when they checked my booking they said they could take my lugggage allowance cost and pre bookable seat costs off the price as these were included in premium prices- so managed to get them for £99 each!!!:thumbsup2 - I know its an added expense but seeing as we'd paid for everything already it didnt seem so bad paying £50 each way for Premium seats (aswell as that bit of extra luggage allowance :goodvibes)

Many Thanks again!!!

Kx
