has any body had the pleasure of thomson flights from birmingham lately,if so what are the planes like and did you have seat back entertainment.

I haven't flown to Orlando with Britannia for at least 10 years but I have flown with them to the Caribbean to join cruises. I'm afraid their long haul aircraft don't have seat back screens, the planes are extremely cramped, and I'm definitely not a fan of theirs.
However, that's flying from Gatwick, if you're lucky things MAY be different from Birmingham. The other thing I dislike is the fact that most of the charter airlines fly into Sanford, for us flying straight to MCO is a must. others like Sanford so don't be too put off by my comments - I'm sure you'll be fine - just think of it as a means to an end.

We flew with Thomson, from Manchester to Orlando, last year.
The flight was fine but we didn't have seat back entertainment.
It seemed sensible at the time to save £100 per return flight (Thomson vs Virgin) for the sake of a movie but, to be honest, we missed the Virgin service and all inc on such a long flight with a 4 year old

I just got back this morning from a travel agents educational trip with Thomson Holidays and we flew Britannia. To be honest I haven't flown on a charter for years and was dreading it but I found the flight to be pretty good. The seats were fine and less cramped than I had imagined them to be although not fantastic. No seat back TV's unless flying in Premium unfortunately. Food was good. The biggest plus for me though was flying into Sanford. I can't believe how quickly we were through immigration and had collected our luggage and were on our way. Orlando International is a pain to get through and although Sanford is small and has less (but adequate) facilities it would be my choice to go through there again.
