Hi everyone!

Just trying to help my cousin book a Disney trip . . . she wants to book with Thomas Cook as she has some holiday vouchers for them. Do you know if they offer DDP and park tickets - I have done a dummy booking on the website and can't see either DDP or anywhere to add part tickets on, but can't imagine a holiday company wouldn't do them. I don't want her to miss out on free dining, as its available for her dates with Disney!

Also, they want to charge her £38 each for airport returns; I'm right in thinking that she can book Magic Express herself, arent I? She will be staying at a Disney hotel.

Cheers!

If she is flying into Sanford instead of MCO there is no Magical Express.

Just estimated a taxi fare on Mears for $107 each way.

Can't help on the DDP I am afraid!

Doh! Yes its Sanford, forgot that!!!

You may already know this but TC does flights to Sanford as well as VA/BA to MCO, the latter being if you book a Signature holiday vs a Thomas Cook holiday. I have booked through them and never had a problem with the tickets. They do advertise free dining so it should be available. Just check that you are looking at qualifying dates.

Yes Disney are definitely offering free dining at that time (next May), I've checked. Thomas Cook literally is giving the hotel and flight cost, then asking for credit card details for deposit - no option to add tickets or DDP! I've never booked with them but it seems very strange!

I was never able to book their Signature packages online and always did it through the branch. Perhaps the Thomas Cook packages (not Signature) are different? If it is cheaper with TC and they don't get the free dining with it for any reason, it may be worth their while looking into the estimated costs of food for their trip and see if this offsets the difference between a TC package and a Disney UK, CO or VH package - or DIY.

hi there we booked thru thomas cook signature in the shop, the girl did ask if we wanted any extras e.g tickets, dining plan, and non disney tickets...
we're flying into international with virgin and going for magical express instead of hire car.

If you are flying with Virgin then you have a Signature Package. Thomas Cook do different kinds. I don't know how it all works but I know that the TC Signature and the TC packages are different. The plain TC packages use their own planes and fly to Sanford. That's the easiest way to spot the difference.

Hi :)

We went with TC last year, you have to go into the store to book the DDP and tickets because on their website there is no way of linking them to your booking they are seen as an extra. I went into the store and they are able to match the internet price and in most cases better the price, you just have to ask!

If you are flying TC airlines they will fly you into Sanford but if you request another airline i.e. Virgin you can fly in Orlando Int and therefore get magical express.

Sorry to hijack your thread....Im booked with TC signature this year and saw other people mentioned they were too, how long did it take to get your tickets? We fly out on the 9th and everytime I ring they say sorry still no tickets...Im panicking slightly!!

Hope that sort of helps!

!

Start putting pressure on them - as in make a nuisance of yourself. I kid you not, I waited and chased up my tickets last with them last year and 5 days before we still didn't have them and even the staff in the branch were showing signs of panic. My issue was that I was leaving on Good Friday and we were flying out first thing the day BEFORE on a domestic flight I had booked separately to Manchester so there I technically needed them 2 days before my official departure. We had to well the Wednesday afternoon just before 5 pm I got the call to my mobile to say the tickets were there. I basically walked over my desk and flew around out the door screaming "DON'T LOCK THE OFFICE I'M COMING BACK!" :rotfl: Okay, that story out of the way, it was the first time I had that with them but it shook me up a little and on that basis I would say if you don't have them around 10 days before you leave, you need to hassle them a bit. Generally though, on past experience, 10 days to 2 weeks is about average.

Thanks for the info 2tiggies! I think I will go in Tuesday and then Thursday and If I don't have them by then I may just go in every single day until I get them...that or I could just camp in their store  I really want my tickets!! Thanks again :thumbsup2

I really didn't mean to cause any panic. I just cannot begin to describe the intensity of the rising panic - and I probably don't have to. As I said, I have never had a problem aside from that one isolated occasion and leaving a day earlier, coupled with an international holiday weekend didn't help matters. I am pretty sure you will be fine. I must admit, the staff in the branch have always been outstanding - I even felt like a traitor going in this year and buying currency and having not used them. :guilty:
