Hi,

we are booked on a Thomas Cook flight from Manchester to Sanford this Sat.
Anyone been with them before? What is the service like? Decent planes? Onboard entertainment for kids? Any info welcomed.

Thanks
Ed

I am interested in this too as we are flying with JMC who are owned by Thomas Cook.

I flew with Thomas Cook from Newcastle to Sanford a couple of years ago and they were brilliant. No delays, extra- friendly flight crew, and the A330 I flew on had a 3-3-3 seating arrangement with personal TV's and I think between 5 and9 channels of entertainment (not sure if that included the audio channels).

.................food could have been nicer (but isn't that the case on most airlines)!

:wave2:

I flew with them to Mexico this year on a A330 from Manchester.

Nothing particularly stood out, but again nothing was particularly poor.

Entertainment was good as we all had seat back tv's with good selection of films, tv and music.

Meals were OK, with hot being the good old favorite 'chicken something', but the second cold meal was a cheese/tomato panini - absolutely vile and stank :sad2:

Bar service, snacks etc generally overpriced, as with most other carriers, but we did get a free bottle of water on our seats both ways which was a nice touch.

Configuration was 3-3-3, but me and partner had prebooked our seats for near the back of the plane of 2-3-2 config - this was a godsend. The seat pitch was not good - again the usual 'minimum' that most charter airlines get away with, but as we were a seat less (and therefore had more 'ailse room', my partner could stick his legs out without upsetting anyone or stopping the trolley on its travells, and I could lay to my side with my legs over his lap - may have looked odd but was the best solution.

Other than that a pretty uneventful flight, although I do have to have one quick moan - I still do not understand people who as soon as they get on board fully recline their seats and leave it there until landing :confused3 This happened to me, and even though they were asked by the attendants to move seat upright during landing, takeoff and meals, did not. This meant I could have had a most uncomfortable journey if it was not for partner allowing me to put my legs on his lap. A little consideration would not have gone amiss :sad2: Rant over
