Hi Guys

I was having a nosey on Kayak today, and Thomas Cook return flights MAN - MCO direct 03/05/2014 - 10/05/2014 are coming in at £445!

It seems like its a bargain I might not be able to refuse at that price ad go in May again instead of January, but has anyone flown with TC to Orlando? Any good? Is that a bargain or are they usually that cheap.

I've had a look on WDW website, and staying at SSR again for the week with free dining comes in at £1169 + Tickets.

I now need to work out a way to convince BF to let me book!!

We booked in June for flying next Oct with TC as the prices were really good. I asked around and the general consensus was that the flights were pretty good, the only negative was the IFE was on a loop and that you buy your own drinks. For me that is not a problem as I certainly won't be drinking over £100 of drink, ( price difference I reckon between TC and Virgin/BA) and we can take ipads etc with us.

A plus for us was that you paid and booked your seat so its guaranteed that we will all be sat together

Does your price include luggage?seats/meals? Its an added extra but flights still worked out cheap for us

It doesn't include luggage which is £56 per 20kgs, or meals another £22.

But we'd probably skip the meal and bring sandwiches in our hand luggage from boots TBH. Same with Drinks a couple of large bottles of water and some pop would keep us going even at airport prices its cheaper then £44 from TC in the air!

Even with the luggage it still works out under £1000.00 direct from Manchester. I paid nearly over £1150 in-direct flights for similar times this year with United, and then paid to upgrade to premium economy so this just seems like such a good deal!

Whats IFE?

IFE is inflight entertainment.
Sounds like a good deal to me. Better then going indirect for sure.:)

Yeah I think it such a good deal but I also wanted to try the food & wine festival next year too!

Ooo decisions decisions!

Looking at the deal, it works out at about £2,740 for flights, baggage, tickets and free dining at either OKW or SSR. It would be £3,950 or thereabouts for two weeks too for anyone else looking!

I remember booking POP for £799 pp for two weeks including VA flights and that was about 8 years ago, no tickets or DDP, so it's not a bad deal! I do miss the days of cheap WDW travel though lol!

I only went for the first time in April this year but I wish they'd have been £799 pp! Haha. I got the free DDP at SSR for 8 nights with tickets for £1850 this year, then flights on top at £1400 total (thats including our upgrade) so thats £3250. So this is slight cheaper for a week similar time next year by £500 which would be a good chunck towads spends instead! :cool1:

I might have to get my excel budget spreadsheet out.....! :rotfl2:

May half term is around £550 mark which isn't too bad, offers with other airlines though through Orbitz x

Just bear in mind that Thomas Cook flies to Orlando Sanford instead of Orlando International. Your journey back to WDW will be quite longer ... But the good bit is that Sanford is only used by British charters and limited domestic traffic so you should be through quite quickly.

I thought that was changed, I am sure I have seen somewhere that they now fly to Orlando airport so they can compete more:thumbsup2

According to their website, it still is Sanford but maybe the change is due later?

That's a fantastic price, although not including luggage is a little bit of a downside. As for airline food- how the heck can they charge you £22 for what they serve?! The food we 'endured' was terrible.

I also found it annoying you couldn't buy 'normal' food onboard like you can on European flights. You are forced to suffer the dreadful onboard meals. :crazy2:

I know, £22 for a microwave meal basically! We could get a meal deal in boots at the airport for during our flight & take our snacks for less then £10! Crazy isn't it.

I'm pondering & pondering on whether to book, or wait to see what prices are like in October & go for the F&W festival?!

Or maybe even spend another year saving and wait until 2015! WDW needs to move closer I think!

Thanks for that idea! I never thought of that! I think we will take things in with us next time too.

I personally would wait till October just because of the great events that happen then. Or go at the end of October- and you can experience F&W, MNSSHP and MVMCP all in one trip!! We plan to do this this October (30/10- 16/11) and I am incredibly excited. Plus crowds are low and the weather is nice.

We managed to get flights for around £500 all in with British airways which is pretty good I think- we had to constantly watch the websites to get that price though.

Hey, I got what I thought was a good deal through ocean holidays. My partner, 4 year old son and myself, 2 weeks at OKW with DDP and 14 day park Ickes for just under 5k. We priced it up with virgin and other travel agents but coming in at £800 more with them. We still have virgin flights though. It's my second time to disneyworld and I'm so excited I can't stop researching restaurants etc. has anyone done the pirates and pals cruise for wishes? Also what about the kids clubs in resorts? We are hoping to put our son in for a few hours 1 or 2 times so that we can go out for a nice meal in peace..it is our honeymoon after all :)

From some date next year they are flying into MCO, not sure of the exact date though

I was looking at June, July and August/September and they all said MCO as I recall, doesn't seem like a short term switch from the sounds of it, seems more like a permanent change.

I wonder why? Probably lower fees or something...

Yeah the flight I found were directly into MCO. That's the closest airport isn't it? Much easier! I'm all for saving time where I can!

So everyone says! It will be my first time flying there next trip, we have always gone Sanford before. MCO looks a much bigger and better airport in terms of facilities though, I've heard security may be a bit longer, but that hour and twenty minute coach trip from Sanford (staying offsite means coaches drop off at hotels along I Drive, extending the trip even further) was always a killer.

I found a video of a walk through the airport the the other day on youtube: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=blhMAD3Hsxg
