stair at the dot in the middle of the picture for 30 seconds, keep staring and roll your mouse over the pic. The pic will appear in color, but then look to the side of the dot....

That's pretty cool. Believe it or not, that's pretty much how we "see" things. There's only a small portion of our field of vision that we see in color. Our brains fill in the rest with it's best aproximation of what should be there.

There was an experiment done where people wore glasses causing them to see everything upside down. After a while everything was seen right side up. They took the glasses off causing them to again see things upside down. After awhile everything returned to normal.
