We have been to WDW many times. But there were still so many restaurants we had not tried. So for this trip, I made all ADR's at places we had never tried before.

We arrived at AKL about 7:30 p.m., so we decied to just grab a bite to eat at Mara. I was actually surprised at how good the food was. DD12 and I had the shrimp dinner and it was very good. I was surprised at how many shrimp you got. DH had the burger and DD7 had pizza. Both enjoyed their meals.

The next morning we wnated to get an early start so we chose Mara again. Again I was surpirsed at how good everything was.

We ate at Kona's for dinner that evening. The atmosphere was wonderful and the food was great. We tried several appetizers. The seafood bisque, crabcakes and sticky wings mysteriusly disappeared from our table. We really enjoyed this restaurant.

The next morning we had breakfast at Boma's. Again a very good meal. Everything was very fresh. The speciality juice they served was very tasty. The made to order omelettes were delicious. Service was very good.

We had lunch at Teppanyaki. By far this was our favorite meal. I already made an ADR for our June trip for dinner. Our chef was really great. I think that makes a big difference at a restaurant like this. He really entertained the kids as well as the adults. The food was so good and cooked perfectly. I can't wait to eat there again.

We went to DTD and had dinner at Portobello Yacht Club. For the money this place was just O.K. The food was o.k. But we had a hard time enjoying our meal, because the restaurant was really loud and the tables were very close together. I felt like we were having dinner with our neighbors. I am glad we tried this place at least once, but I don't think we will be going back. I think the atmosphere plays a big part in a restaurant.

On our last morning, we had breakfast at Boatwrights at POR. This was also a very good meal. We feasted on omelettes, blueberry pancakes, and bannana stuffed french toast. While the restaurant was very crowded, the service was very good and we were served our food very fast.

A WDW vet trying all new restaurants - how fun is that?! :cool1: And it sounds like you had some great experiences in the process. Thanks for sharing your reviews. :)

thanks for the reviews! We always try and add a new place or two but find it hard since we have so many favorites!

Thats wonderful that you tried all new places and very brave too!! Enjoyed reading your reviews, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the reviews. Teppakanayi is a favorite of ours too, I'll be having my b-day dinner there this summer. I want to try the restaraunts at AKL but staying at WL there just isn't an easy way to get there, especially for breakfast which is what I'd love to try.

I would like to try all new places to eat but we love our favorites so much it hard for us to leave them for something new !

What a great idea! We've only been to WDW once, but maybe I'll attempt to do the same thing! Thanks for the reviews!

I'm just curious-were you on the dining plan? I've thought of doing this on my next solo trip, but only if I'm on the dining plan! That way, I wouldn't have to pay for my meals (well, I know I'd be paying, just not at the time I was eating) so I wouldn't feel bad if someplace I tried was a bust. Also, did you discover any new gems, places you said "I can't believe we never ate here before"? And it sounds like so much fun-was it?

I am so glad to hear about Teppanyaki. We have not been there in a while and we want to go back- so glad to see you liked it!

:thumbsup2 Boma and Portobello are great places. Great choices and reviews , thanks for the reveiw. I will be at the Akl this summer.

We were not on the dining plan. We do have the DDE card. I researched all the menus before we left, so I had an idea of what the restaurants were like. I really can't believe we had never tried Teppanyaki before. It was so much fun. We were seated with another family. Our chef was so great and really added to the experience. He did a great job entertaining all of us. The food was wonderful. My kids really liked it there. We all had fun eating with chopsticks. They had special chopsticks for the kids to make it easy for them. The tea they served was really tasty. We will definitely be going back. :)

We are staying at AKL in November and have only tried Boma's, so i look forward to trying the other restuarants!!!!

Lesley, We'll be at WL 6/16-6/23. Maybe we'll run into each other. I would really try to make it over to Boma for breakfast. My DH is usually not a breakfast person, but he really enjoyed it. They had a few dishes with an African flare to it. Don't ask me what they were, because I couldn't tell you, but they were very good. All the food was really good and the service was wonderful. They really had a variety to choose from. We will definitely be trying to go back there in June. :)
