This time we did it right! We're back!

The UPS man just delivered my Cotton Candy Cayman Crocs (how's that for alliteration?!?)

I have to say they are quite the eyesores in size 10! Why are my feet so dang big?!?

As far as comfort...so far, so good!

Don't you just love the UPS people?!?! :woohoo: They tend to bring us good things!! I like them better than the postman!! ;)

PS - maybe you should buy some Birkenstocks - they tend to run big. I normally wear anywhere from a size 6 to a 7 1/2 :confused3 shoe - all depends on the style and brand. However, in a Birkenstock, I had to get the equivalent of a 5!!! I asked if Birks makes clothes, too!! :lmao:

I want a pair of the Cayman Crocs! I only have the flip-flops!

I got mine from piperlime.com

They have all the colors of the caymans...free shipping and free return shipping!

You just may be onto something with the Birkenstock clothing! :rotfl2: Who wouldn't want to buy clothes a size or two smaller?!?

I have a few questions. :confused3 If anyone can answer these questions, I will be very grateful!

Here we go:

1. What is the best counter service restaurant (in your opinion) at Magic Kingdom? We're planning on eating at Pecos Bill's the night of MNSSHP. We would like to eat somewhere else the other day we are at MK.

2. My cousin must start her day with coffee every day. Can one put coffee in those refillable mugs at the resorts? Do they have coffee makers available at AKL?

3. Is the Main Street Bakery open during the Little Ones EMH at MK? Or does it wait until official park opening to open?

4. What is the best grocery store to stop at on the way from MCO to WDW? (Considering prices and proximity to the interstate.)

5. How do we find out when Off Kilter and Voices of Liberty perform? Are the times on those Times Guides?

That's all for now! Thank you in advance for any help you can offer. :goodvibes

For a tasty sandwich, I would vote for Columbia Harbor House - we frequently end up there more than once each trip. :thumbsup2 Very good food & a nice air-conditioned upstairs that overlooks Fantasyland/Haunted Mansion area. We also enjoy El Pirata y El Perico - the Mexican place by Pirates - but, it usually isn't open when we go during the Value Season.

I  your new pink Crocs! :thumbsup2 I'm still trying to get my hands on some of the new Capri Croc flip-flops before our trip. :)

2. There are those mini coffee pots (like 4 cups) in the rooms at AKL or you can go the Mara to get some coffee.

5. I am almost positive that the times guide tells you when Voices of Liberty and Off Kilter perform.

BTW I like you pink crocs they are cute. My feet just don't fit in them well...they are either too big or too small.

Oh, now that you mention it, I think we tried Columbia Harbor House last time we were at MK and we really liked it. Thanks for the tip!

I'm still trying to get used to the way the crocs look on my feet...yuck!

I'm so glad they have the little coffee pots in the rooms! That'll be less time wasted in the a.m.!

I am very excited to see Off Kilter and Voices of Liberty...I'm pretty sure I've never heard either one!

I feel like the crocs don't really fit my feet...they feel like they're going to be sliding around like crazy. I hope they start to feel like they fit after wearing them a little bit!

Girl! I love the color of your crocs! Heck, crocs are never a fashion statement, but I do think you made a very nice color choice =)

I bet your feet are going to feel so comfy in them!!!!

Glad they're comfy!! Cotton Candy is my daughter's favorite Croc Color!

I wear 10's, too, so I feel ya on funny looking shoes!

As others have mentioned, the live performances will be in the times guide, and you can also find the times out ahead of time from Steve Soares's site!

I love your color choice for the crocs. They didn't offer those at the store where I bought mine, but I still would have gotten a neutral color, I am boring that way!

Hey there!
Great pre-trip!
I'm from Phoenix too - well, as much as one can be FROM Phoenix - I lived there for 19 years....
Anyway, I thought it would be funny if you were the Sheriff Joe inmates - with the pink boxers and all :rotfl2:
Not many people would get it - but that's good for conversation starter :)
Anyway - Just a thought!
Keep it coming - I just added the shoe hanger to my list of things to buy!

Oh, and if you decide to do the dalmatian, you can do iron-on transfers in just plain black spots - that's VERY easy to do and they look neat!

Keep the PT coming!

Yep, if the shoes are ugly, at least the color is pretty!

I do love the color. It will go with pretty much everything, so I won't have to buy another pair. Yeah, right!!!!

I'll check out Steve Soares's site. THanks! :goodvibes It will be good to have the info before we get to the park.

Isn't it funny how the display shoes look so cute, then when you try them on in size 10, they don't look quite the same!?!? :rotfl2:

Neutral is definitely the way to go. The cotton candy is neutral enough that I think I'll be able to make it work most days.

The sheriff Joe idea is HILARIOUS!!! :rotfl: I will have to run that one past my tripmates!

Thanks for the iron on idea too. Let me tell you, it's a darn good thing we have a long time till the trip because we're going to need that time to agree on costumes!

WELL, it turns out it's a good thing that DH won't be going on this trip. He just found out the dates for his professional engineering exam and yep, you guessed it, it's smack in the middle of our trip. So it's actually a very good thing that we didn't buy him park, party, and plane tickets, cuz he wouldn't have been able to use them. He's going to be nerding it up at a testing center. Poor guy! My cousin, Sleepy, who's taking his place on the trip and is also a professional engineer, said it's a good thing I won't be at home when he's taking the test because it was a very rough two days. So now DH has been forgiven in full for bowing out of this trip. Onto the plans!

I've been messing around with our itinerary lately and I think I've come up with a pretty good one. I'm trying to keep our options somewhat open just in case, but here's what I have so far...

Friday, October 26 - Arrival day! :cool1: Check in at AKL, hope for a great room, and then head over to Epcot. It's EMH at Epcot this night, so we might try to go on one or two rides after WS closes. Our main goal, however, is to just enjoy WS and soak up the atmosphere. Oh, and of course, to see Illuminations!

Saturday - Animal Kingdom in the a.m., then back to AKL for a break, then head over to MGM. :cloud9: I LOVE MGM and I can not wait to go on TOT. It's my absolute favorite. I love EVERYTHING about it...from the theming of the queue to the movie you watch while you wait to the ride itself...I just adore it. Can't wait! Oh, Beth will still be a breast-feeding mom at this point if all goes well, but baby will be home with his grandparents. So I think breaks will be necessary each day so Beth can pump and dump! BTW, Beth's due date was yesterday, but no baby yet! And this night will be our Boma night. Yummy!

Sunday - Magic Kingdom in the a.m., then break at the hotel, then Epcot in the evening. Magic Kingdom will have Little Ones EMH this morning. I'm a little worried that this will make the park too crazy. However, we will be at MK for MNSSHP later in the week, so if we miss anything, we can try to hit it then. Has anyone been to the Little Ones EMH? If so, how was it?

Monday - MGM in the a.m., break at AKL, then Epcot in the evening. Does it seem like we're going to Epcot a lot in the evenings? We are cuz we all LOVE world showcase. I could live there in all those countries. Just set me up a bed in the church in Norway and I'm all set! :rotfl: Today is our lunch at Hollywood Brown Derby. This is pretty silly, but Beth and I are calling this our "anniversary meal." We always joke that Halloween is our anniversary because that's the day we became roommates our freshman year of college. We both started out with bad first roommates (mine was smelly and hers was psycho) and then moved in together on Halloween. So this year will be our 10-year anniversary! Our anniversary lunch will be 2 days before the real anniversary, but it'll work. Our DHs always roll their eyes when we talk about our anniversary. :rotfl2:

Tuesday - Water park in the a.m., weather permitting, of course. Long break at the hotel. Then, MNSSHP!!!! :yay: Trick or treating in the happiest place on earth...does it get any better than that?!? :woohoo: I think not. Oh, another dorky thing about me and Beth...every year during college and grad school, we would go to her parents' house to carve pumpkins and we would trick or treat in her parents' neighborhood. If you're one of those people who thinks only little kids should trick or treat, I'm very sorry. But I just love trick or treating. I don't even mind if I get pennies in my bag...I just love everything about trick or treating...the fun of dressing up, the generosity of people, and the sense of community. When else can someone just walk up to your door, ring the doorbell, and you'll just hand them a treat?!? Okay, I'll stop with that now. Oh, and yes, I did stop trick or treating when college ended. Can't wait to have kids, though, so I can take them!

Wednesday - This will be a sleep in day because of the late night the night before. Then we're off to Epcot to ride rides. Then to the airport for 7 p.m. flights :sad2:

We only have 2 ADRs made. A lot of our dinners will consist of walking around WS and eating whatever we find there. Hopefully, breakfast will be in the room and lunch will be CS.

If anyone has any suggestions for our plans, please share them! Thanks!

Sounds like a great plan! :thumbsup2 You're going to love trick-or-treating at the MK...and just a tip - some CM's will give you whatever candy you fancy if you just ask. My friend made a comment about getting stuck with raisins again & the CM asked her what she'd rather have - Snickers it was!! LOL;)

Your plans look really good. I don't have any experience of being at Disney around Halloween, but it sounds like you have everything in place. Have you decided on a costume yet? I am soooo not good about choosing costumes. Halloween isn't one of my favorite holidays. :confused3

Raisins?!?! I'm definitely going for the chocolate! Thanks for the tip.

Haven't decided on costumes yet. I just decided yesterday that I'm going to go home (to Chicago) in September to have a bridal shower for my bro and his fiancee. So while I'm home for the weekend, I think my cousin and I are going to have to make our costumes. That leaves us 2 months to decide. We can do it!

The plans look great!!! I love TOT also but sadly DFi doesn't feel the same but says he will go on it once with me. As for the trick or treating it is sounding like more and more fun plus arizonacolbys comment kinda got me hooked when she said they had snickers!!! Those are my favorite and can never have enough!

Can't wait to read about what you decide on for costumes.

I bought myself a Disney bag!

I saw this bag at REI when we were there looking for hiking stuff. I just couldn't resist.

It's the Overland Donner bag.

It's a great bag for Disney and for traveling in general. I stuck some stuff in it to demonstrate (cuz I'm a dork like that!) It has perfectly sized pockets for chap stick, gum, and a cell phone (my must-haves). And the mesh part that folds down will be great for holding my park ticket and fastpasses. Oh, and there's a water bottle holder on each side. The bottom of the water bottle pocket is mesh so that water that drips can evaporate and not get all gross. And there's plenty of room in the big pocket for my poncho, my camera, and whatever else I may need. It's perfecto.

And just because, here's a pic of my 2 favorite boys, DH and Indy

P7060041.jpg

DH was sleeping on the couch with Indy. Please take note of the Unofficial Guide behind DH! I must have been doing some researching that day! (that's a blanket on DH, not flowered pants!)

Is the Donner red? It's a little hard to tell in the picture. I got the blue one. I agree it will be a good bag for Disney. My only problem is the strap keeps riding up my neck. I need to figure out something so it won't do that while in the parks.

Too funny about your DH sleeping on the UG!! ;)

That's very good of your fiance to go on TOT once with you even though he dislikes it! Maybe he'll become a convert. You never know...

Yep, it's the red one. I absolutely could not decide. Poor DH had to stay there with me for about an hour while I went back and forth on it!

I have also noticed that with the strap on the neck, but only when I have lots of stuff in it. I hope that's not a problem at WDW!

Love the new bag! :thumbsup2 It looks like it will be perfect for WDW - lots of great storage, but the bag's not too big either. :)
