This time we did it right! We're back!

So I've been sitting here trying to think of group Halloween costumes...I can't seem to come up with anything Disney. 101 dalmations is still our fallback costume, but that involves face makeup and probably sweat pants. Those could be dangerous in October.

Here are some of the ideas I've come up with so far:

1. Characters from the Clue board game.

2. Alvin and the Chipmunks (and Dave)

3. The pink ladies and Danny from Grease

The Clue characters could be fun, and since only two of us live in the same state (Beth and her DH), we could all work on the costumes independently.

Alvin and the Chipmunks could be really easy too. All we need are t-shirts, one with a big yellow A and a red hat, and then whatever Dave wore.

For the pink ladies, we could just wear pink shirts with "Pink Ladies" on the back instead of jackets. We could do our hair like in the movie. And Danny could be easy to pull off.

Any thoughts?

I like the Chipmunks. :goodvibes

Dave is easy; he always wore black pants, black shoes, and a white shirt! Kind of like a polo shirt. Tough to tell who he is, though, unless you embroider the name, "Dave" on the shirt! :rotfl:

You could get three hairbands with little bear-ears on them in most any costume shop...they would pass as chipmunk ears, I guess?!

"Simon" would need round glasses...

If you girls all wore tunic-length t-shirts, you could probably wear just about anything underneath as long as you all matched.

Have turtlenecks packed so that if it's chilly, you just wear the turtlenecks and pop the t-shirts right over them. Come to think of it, the original Chipmunks' outfits looked like floor-length turtlenecks!! :scratchin

Hope this helps!

We'll probably be there every night between Oct 27 & Nov 2, at least. (Except Oct 28, when we do MNSSHP!)

If you figure out the whole how to fast forward to October thing, let me know! :thumbsup2

The adventurer's club will probably be a game time decision for us, depending on how tired we are from our days in the parks. I fully intend to be at rope drop every morning. If I do go to AC, I hope you have some pirate's booty left!

Thanks for all the tips, Kathy! You're so creative and helpful!

That's a great idea to bring turtlenecks and t-shirts, so we can switch depending on the weather. You're right about the shirts being really long. They do have a lot of those legging things out there now, so we could rock some leggings.

I emailed my cousin about the costume ideas. She should be getting back to me soon! Then the decision will be made. Then I can get down to business.

I just heard back from my cousin regarding the Halloween Party costumes.

Well, she loved, loved, loved the idea of the Clue boardgame characters.

So the decision has been made. I'm going to be Mrs. White, my cousin will be Mrs. Peacock, Beth will be Miss Scarlett, and Doc will be Col. Mustard.

I am so excited to start costume hunting.

Mrs. White is a maid in the boardgame. I will dress as a maid, but I don't want one of those junky french maid costumes. Hopefully I can find some good stuff at thrift stores.

I swore I was going to hold off on making the costume till after our Hawaii trip, but I am too excited!

My cousin said we should bring the cards from the boardgame with us. Then we'll show them to people we run into at MNSSHP and ask if they have seen the people/things on the cards. Kind of "clue" them into what our costumes are (if they can't guess from looking).

The Clue costumes sound like a great idea!!! You will have to keep us posted on the hunting around for parts of the costume

I've been looking online for costumes for me/Mrs. White (the maid), and the only things I can find are the very revealing french maid costumes. I guess I am going to have to piece a costume together. My aunt said she may be able to make me a little maid's hat and maybe the apron. I would try it on my own, but I am sure the results would not be pretty.

Do Crocs go well with a maid costume?!? :confused3

I have decided that I want to add a table service lunch somewhere into our itinerary. We're planning to do a park in the morning, rest, then park at night.

So instead of going straight back to AKL after one of our mornings, we will just take a bus to one of the resorts for lunch.

Here's my question: Not including restaurants at AKL, what's your favorite table service lunch restaurant at a resort?

If you like BBQ, how about Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge? You can take a boat right over from the MK.

The servers are fun, the food is good, and you get a chance to gawk at the incredible lobby! :thumbsup2

Kathy

The Pepper Market at CSR!!! They have the best food and if you are on the DDP you get probably the BEST deal for your credits there!! Also CSR is very close to AKL, if you have any more questions just let me know!!

Ohhhh! We had such a hard time deciding between AKL and WL for this trip. So it would be great to have lunch there so we can see it!

I checked out Pepper Market's menu and it looks so good! We're going to have to fit it in somewhere!

Hi Julie! Great Pre-Trippie! I named my DH Grumpy, too! Not because he doesn't love Disney, but he tries to pretend he is Grumpy, when he is really a Pooh Bear! ;)

I had to play catch up on your pre trip report, and here I am!

I just love this costume idea but it's the carrying the cards from the game and showing them to people that got me rolling. BRILLIANT!!!! I wish I could be there just to watch the expressions on peoples faces. You guys are going to have so much fun, wow, I am jealous.

Hi! Thanks for reading! My DH tries to pretend he's grumpy too...like pretending not to like our puppy. But then I'll see him kissing the puppy and carrying him around. I'm onto his tricks!

Don't be jealous! Just come with us! :rotfl: How was your weekend with your brother?!?

I'm loving the Clue idea too! So funny to take the cards with you!

Make sure someone is carrying the candlestick!

Would it be wrong to use Lumiere as the candlestick?

Lumiere is so very Disney, but I don't want to insinuate that Lumiere hurts people!
