This time we did it right! We're back!

I can't believe I missed your Pre-Trippie! I'm so glad I found it through your post! You are going to have a blast! Since I just read the whole thing, my thoughts will sound really random, but here it goes!
Your doggies are adorable! :cutie:
I love your crocs!:goodvibes
Great Halloween Costume Idea!:thumbsup2
It's definately a Small World...Your BFF must live quite close to us, we are just over the WI/IL border! Pass on a congrats on the new baby!

Loving your report, can't wait for more!:cool1:

Kristi =-)

Would it be wrong to use Lumiere as the candlestick?

Lumiere is so very Disney, but I don't want to insinuate that Lumiere hurts people!

I think that would be a great idea! It would be kind of like a "Hidden Mickey". Except you would have a "Hidden Lumiere"!! :lmao:

Great costume ideas. Grease is my favorite movie ever, so I was pulling for the Pink Ladies and Danny. I think these costumes are much more creative, though. :thumbsup2

I went to school at Marquette University in Milwaukee. DH went to MSOE. We're thinking of moving back to that area after we are done with phoenix.

thanks for reading!

I ordered Lumiere from ebay! He should be coming soon!

Just read your whole pre-trip report, and it sounds great. We ate at Boma last year and got to take a look at AKL for the first time -- what a beautiful place!

And I'm extra excited that you get to go to WDW and DL too!!! :flower3: I grew up in LA and we went to Disneyland every year -- it was awesome, and I'm sure you'll have a blast comparing the two. Everytime we go out west to visit my family, I make sure to plan a quickie trip to DL. I always tell everybody that DL is the best -- just a snob that way, I guess. :snooty:

Still a long time for you to wait, but half the fun is in the planning, right? Keep us posted. ;)

I can't wait to eat at Boma! We're going to have dinner there one day and then breakfast there the day we go to the waterpark.

I'm glad to hear you say you like DL better! I have irrational prejudice against DL, but I'm hoping my mind will change when I actually go there!

Yes, there is still a long time to wait!!! After I hit double digits, the days seem to be taking FOREVER!

Thanks for reading!

wow, lots going on in your pre trip report!

i love the clue idea, it's very funny. one of the best halloween costumes i've seen is the brothers and sister from the royal tenenbaums. they even had the boombox playing the theme song, which made it even better. i love themed group halloween costumes!

i also love akl! you will have a blast there! it's such a beautiful hotel. be sure to eat at boma, it's the only place my boyfriend told me he'd go back to disney for (he loved the soup there). he's a bit of a grumpy too, well, a lot of a grumpy. he does not like disney much. oh well.

lots of waiting to go, but it'll go by quick! :cool1:

I'm looking forward to seeing your costumes and hearing about what you think of Boma. That's one of the places I want to go in the future, but my gang didn't seem so thrilled about it for this time. Next year, we know we want to do 'Ohana and the Yak and Yeti, but maybe I can talk them into Boma, too. We only do a few big meals. Mostly we're fine with counter service.

Jill and I are making it our goal to spend every holiday in WDW at some point in time. This year it's Christmas, and next year it's St. Patrick's Day and Fourth of July. They've just started this year giving us Thanksgiving week instead of just a couple of days, so that holiday is "do-able". Maybe the next year we can do a Halloween trip. That one's a hard one for me, because we don't have a school break then. I guess I could get a slight cold on say a Thursday-Friday or a Monday-Tuesday....cough, cough. I feel it coming on now!

I'll look forward to seeing all the Halloween costumes and decor in your trip report and pictures. Another teacher at our school wants to take her kids at Halloween so they can see the Headless Horseman in the parade, but I know that she better get started on planning and booking before it's too late, if it's not already.

The royal tenenbaums costume is so funny! I'll have to remember that for future Halloween parties.

We are planning to have dinner at Boma one night and breakfast there one morning. I'm glad to hear rave reviews!

I'm just hoping my DH will be more into Disney when we have kids!

I'm at 80 days now, which sounds like a lot! We leave for Hawaii in 16 days...that trip is SOO close.

I'm thinking about adding Ohana to our trip, but I can't decide!

It's great that you are going to do every holiday at WDW. I would love that!!! Thanksgiving there is GREAT. All the days leading up to Thanksgiving, it's normal WDW, then the day after Thanksgiving, all the Christmas decorations are up. That is truly magical.

I just started seeing a bunch of Halloween stuff at some stores. I'm taking that as a sign that I need to get started on my costume!

Well, you'll have to compare MK & DL and see what you think! :thumbsup2 I would say that the scenery around MK is better than DL (that'll be real obvious, since DL isn't in a great part of town), but the overall feel inside DL is better. DL wins hands-down for Pirates, and they also have some great attractions you can't see in WDW -- like Mr Toad (may he rest in peace at WDW), Alice in Wonderland, the Matterhorn, and New Orleans Square (good food there). But I love both, and as I said, I'm excited for you!!!! I have never been to the newer park, California Adventure. Are you going there?

Hope your Hawaii trip is wonderful!! Have a great time! :flower3:

I received a wonderful piece of mail today...Lumiere!

Lumiere will serve as the candlestick for our Clue costumes. My cousin claimed the candlestick, so I assume she'll be carrying Lumiere with her.

p.s. the tag has already been chewed up by my puppy. Not sure how he got it off the coffee table! But I am glad it's the tag and not Lumiere himself! The joys of having a puppy...

This weekend, I have a friend coming to visit from Chicago. She will be great help in the search for clothes that are perfect for Mrs. White. (She's much more creative than I.)

One more piece of news...I was talking to my mom today and she said she is having Disney withdrawal. She said she would like to go next year. My family loves to go at Thanksgiving time. So it looks like we'll be planning a Thanksgiving 2008 trip! :woohoo: And the best part is that my oldest brother (41) said he really wants to go back to Disney, and I am sure that my other bro and his soon-to-be wife will want to go, and of course my dad will go. So I think it'll be the whole family! :yay:

Wow i wish i could be as creative as you with the costumes! The clue idea rocks!! Thats so awesome about a 2008 trip!

I hope we'll go to both DL and California Adventure. CA is where Tower of Terror is, right? I adore that ride, and I'll be so sad if we miss it!

If you have tips on where we should eat/stay/anything else, please do share them! Thanks so much. It's good to have a resource for DL because I feel like it's foreign to me!

Oh, I'm not really that creative. Don't tell anyone, but I just googled "group costume ideas" and the Clue idea was on a list that came up. SHHHH!!!!

Aahhh, nothing better than having two WDW trips on the planning board at the same time!!:cloud9:

And Hawaii, too, you lucky duck!

Aloha!

Kathy

You have to make ADRs at Blue Bayou - you will eat inside the POC ride!

It sounds like things are coming along on your costumes. :thumbsup2 I'm sure they will look great. That is very exciting about next year's trip. I'm sure it will be a blast!! :woohoo:

Good luck with the costume shopping this weekend and the Lumiere is perfect!

Congrats on the Thanksgiving 2008 trip...that will be tons of fun!

I FINALLY found an acceptable swimsuit for Hawaii. It took me FOREVER. I have about 15 swimsuits (not even kidding), but I wanted a new one for Hawaii and I wanted it to be perfect. So I got it yesterday and it's pretty perfect!

Seriously!?! That is so cool! I am definitely going to do that!

Thank you for the great tip!!!

I love Lumiere! I just have to make sure my puppy doesn't get him.

I'm so thrilled about the Thanksgiving trip. I just love WDW at Thanksgiving.

LOVE the Clue idea!!!!

I still can't think of anything for DH and I!! :rotfl2:

I have another month to come up with something besides the MNSSHP tee shirts!!!

I don't know what happened but I posted my update on your thread??? I am so sorry!! I just deleted it!! ?????
