This time we did it right! (Updated 3/2!)

okay.......i'm done with day 2! i'm slowly but surely getting caught up!

Toward the end of the meal, a very sweet cast member named Jaci came up to our table and wished Beth a happy birthday, then asked why there was no dessert on Beth’s tray. She then admonished the rest of us for not buying Beth a birthday dessert and asked Beth if she preferred cheesecake or key lime pie. Beth chose the key lime (my fave) and Jaci disappeared for a minute. When she returned, she had a slice of key lime pie and had everyone at Flame Tree BBQ sing happy birthday to beth.

That was so very sweet of Jaci.

what a sweet story! gives you that warm disney world feeling inside. :cloud9:

i too have an irrational fear of birds and you're a better friend than i am because i DO NOT do flights of wonder!!! :scared1:

good stuff so far......can't wait to read more! :thumbsup2

i hope you told them what a moron that guy was!

You know it!

That crazy troll tried to steal the baby!

Oh my goodness. Thanks for reminding me Punkin. It still makes me squeal with laughter the second time around. OP, so flippin' funny. I think you should do standup on the side. One of the funniest things I have ever read/seen on the DIS. Thanks OP. Great trip report.

I'm kind of embarrassed to ask this question, but What does OP mean?

So excited for you that your DH will come to the world with you! It will be so much fun with him to share things with!

I am SO excited. When I am there without him, there are about 6,000 times throughout the day when I think "I wish Gordon were here to see/do this."

Great update! I was cracking up during the "stinky dinner" story :lmao: I know it wasn't funny at the time, but it must be a funny memory to look back on. Of all the tables in all the restaurants, they had to be seated next to yours :rotfl:

Keep the updates coming, your report's one of my favorites!

You're right, the stinky dinner was funny. It was only a teeny bit funny while it was happening, but it's really funny now.

Thanks so much! You're so sweet!

great update. I don't know why they don't ask people to go back to the hotel and shower before entering a place with food. It should be Disney law.

You are so right! We should take this one to the Mouse and see if we can't get that law enacted!

It would make for more pleasant dining experiences everywhere.

I wonder if people know they stink?

Again, crazy pix.....

You guys take crazier pix than I do...and that's saying something. :thumbsup2

I hope I would know if I was that stinky! And if not, I really hope that my spouse/significant other would tell me!

I have to disagree with you...we do not take crazier pics than you do! Have you seen your PTR?!?

Hey Julie- too bad about the stinkers in RM, I'd be grossed out too! I had the lamb there and it was SOOOO good! That dessert looks yummy, mmmm lunchtime!

I'm kind of embarrassed to ask this question, but What does OP mean?
"

People use it for original poster, the one who started the thread. I hope! I guess I was too lazy to type out SwansLoveDisney And a little shy to use Julie. Don't ask. I'm a weirdo. Julie it is.

Thanks for reading and catching up! You don't have to be an AKL guest to do night viewing. Next time you're there, I would just call AKL and ask what time the night viewing is happening. Then, when you get there, ask at the front desk where the night viewing is and they'll tell you. It is absolutely worth a special trip to do it. And maybe you can sneak in a Boma dinner. Yum!

Oh, that rain was almost too much to deal with! I remember from your TR that you had a super rainy MNSSHP night. We did too! It was nuts.

Thanks for the info! I will def have to work that into my next trip.

I was hoping the rain would stay away from your MNSSHP. Hope you guys made the best of it that night.

Love all your pictures of the drawn Minnie's! Very cute! The "pig" Minnie had me laughing out loud. :lmao:

Sorry your dinner at Epcot was so "stinky". Ugh some people should just carry fabreeze and perfume with them. :rotfl:

Sorry to hear about those stinkers! :headache: Looks like you had fun anyway! Can't wait to read about your MNSSHP night. We had a lot of fun when we were there. popcorn::

I just did a quick skimming to catch up. School has been crazy as we wind down until Christmas, and we are in the midst of the sudden death of a family friend (Trent's former Sunday School teacher, President of the school my kids grew up at), so I haven't spent any time on the boards. I did want to see your update. We'll definitely have to try the night vision goggles someday. I love the tile work in Morocco. I, too, am sorry that your meal had to be less enjoyable because of the less than pleasant people around you. Thanks for the updates and pictures. I'll spend more time absorbing it all when things settle down around here.

Put the glue gun down..........

You've made enough Christmas gifts.........

Start thinking of the title of your next PTR.........:thumbsup2

Seriously, Just giving your TR a bump.....

I'm here! I'm so sorry I've been so neglectful of my TR and all my DIS friends!

Things have been so crazy around here, with Christmas quickly approaching.

DH and I leave tomorrow for Chicago. I CAN'T wait!!!!!! We have spent the last two Christmases in Phoenix and LA and now we're going home (to my home anyway!). Everytime I hear the song "I'll be Home for Christmas" or "Home for the HOlidays", I start to cry a little bit! So I've been busy planning every minute of every day...when to fit in every friend of mine! And of course I have been shopping like a madwoman. And stressing about how the heck I'll get it all home!

In addition to that, my brother's wedding is December 29. I've been trying to help as much as I can with that from a distance. They're not having a DJ at the wedding and it has somehow become my job to put a bunch of Christmas and other music on my iPod for the reception. So pretty much all of my time on the computer has been spent doing that! Even though he's my older brother (by one year), I have always been so protective of him in all aspects of life. I think I am going to be a crying mess at the wedding!

I hope all is well with all of you! I am going to work on my next installment right now!

Today was Tuesday, our Blizzard Beach day and best of all, our Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party Day.

We woke up at 7:30 today, which was pretty early, considering that Blizzard Beach didn’t open till 10 and there was no need to be there at rope drop! I guess we were too excited to sleep.

Unfortunately, however, when we woke up, Sarah checked outside and it was raining like crazy! Not an ounce of sun in the sky. And it was kind of cold. It was a tough decision to make, but we decided to skip Blizzard Beach. I was pretty bummed because I love waterparks in general and Blizzard Beach in particular. But it wasn’t worth freezing our booties off. So now it was time to come up with an alternate plan.

Sarah and I talked and made a snap decision to go to Epcot since we hadn’t been on any of the rides there, except Test Track.

We called Beth and Jason, and they were off to a late start, so we told them to call us when they were ready to go. Meanwhile, Sarah and I threw on some clothes and ran out the door to the bus stop for Epcot.

And you know what? I forgot my stinkin’ camera. I used Sarah’s camera the whole day and put her pics on my computer, but I can’t find them! I’ll have to get them from her again when I’m home this coming week.

We arrived at Epcot at 8:20. It was Extra Magic Hours today, so we were nervous about getting there late, but there was just about no one there! I guess the rain had deterred a lot of people.

Sarah and I made a beeline for Soarin’ and then got in the Stand-by line, which was a 5 minute wait. We rode Soarin’ and we both LOVED it. That ride is so innovative and so much fun! It was the first time on the ride for both of us.

After Soarin’, we had some breakfast at the Sunshine Seasons Food Court. They had such a great selection there. I am going to have to eat there more on my next trip!

We then hit Living With the Land. I know a lot of people love this ride, but I think it’s BORING! I have been on it probably 6 times, which is 5 times too many, in my opinion!

Next was Journey into the Imagination with Figment. This was my first time on this ride. There was NO ONE getting on this ride. We did not see one other person. That was enough to creep me out. There was, of course, a cast member there, which made me feel better.

Figment was, um, interesting. Okay, I’ll be honest, it freaked me out. That ride is so crazy. I don’t think I’ll be back!

After Figment, though, we made some of those postcards and sent them to our significant others. That was a lot of fun.

We decided to head to Test Track next. On our way, we gave away our Soarin FPs to a couple of Disneymooners who sounded like they were from Australia. They were happy to have them.

We got some Test Track FPs, then got in the single rider line. I ended up next to two older Italian men. The guy right next to me was HILARIOUS! He was so scared. But he kept trying to protect me in the car. Like when he thought we might crash, he put his arm in front of me! And he kept saying things, half in English and half in Italian about how scared he was. It was hilarious. Oh, and the picture at the end was awesome.

When we finished Test Track, we saw a couple who looked like they were trying to decide whether or not to wait in line for it, so we gave them our FPs. We felt like FP fairies that day!

Next was Mission Space. There was a 10 minute wait for the side that spins (I can’t remember the color). I love this ride! Is it just me, or is it less intense than before? I normally feel a little bit sick after Mission Space, but I didn’t feel sick at all this time. Sarah didn’t feel sick either, which made me happy!

At this point, Beth and Jason called and said they wanted to go to AK. So Sarah and I hopped on a bus over to AK. It was pouring, of course, when we got there! Sarah and I put on the ponchos and rain coats and did some shopping. I bought some Mickey Crocs for my cousin and goddaughter for Christmas. Sarah bought some souvenirs fro some people as well. We then found Beth and Jason at Rafiki’s Planet Watch. They had just come back from checking that out.

At this point, I had access to Beth's camera. yay!

I had bought Beth a fancy rice crispy treat at Epcot because I could tell she was crabby/upset about something when i talked to her on the phone. I thought this might cheer her up a little bit:

Here's a pic of the guy who was controlling the garbage can:

We all decided to do Expedition Everest again. There was quite a wait, so we did the Single Rider line, which took about 10 minutes. Not bad. I am absolutely in love with Expedition Everest. I could go on that ride a thousand times. It was raining a little bit when we rode, which made the ride very interesting!

The tree of life:

Monkeying around:

After that, Sarah and I headed back to AKL and Beth and Jason stayed at AK. Sarah and I wanted to have some lunch at Mara and have a little nap before MNSSHP.

We hit up Mara, the food court at AKL. We both had Falafel Pitas with couscous salad. OMG…these were DELICIOUS! Just thinking about it makes my mouth water.

Now it was time for a nap. The nap was more like me lying there being too excited about MNSSHP to sleep! But at least I was resting. Then we got out of bed and began our transformations into the characters from the board game Clue!

Next up: Mrs. White, Mrs. Peacock, Miss Scarlet, Col. Mustard, and Prof Plum walk into AKL and….

After a short nap, everyone got ready for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. And here are the results:

From left to right, here are Professor Plum, Colonel Mustard, Miss Scarlet, Mrs. Peacock, and Mrs. White. Everyone is holding a weapon, even Prof Plum! (oh wait, I'm holding two weapons, Mrs. Peacock was pretending she was innocent.)

The tales of our adventures at MNSSHP are to follow. Would anyone know who we were?!? You'll have to stay tuned to find out!

Those are the greatest costumes ever! I knew you were doing this, but seeing all the costumes done just sets in stone that those are the coolest. It's all so creative, and the baby's ADORABLE! :lmao: I still love those glasses!

Great update. Have an absolutely amazing Christmas at home with your family and friends, and a very happy New Year! Hope to see you back here after the holidays!

Have a great time in Chicago.....I LOVE Chicago. It's my favorite metro area......

Those costumes are the best....the glasses on the bambino....classic :lmao:

I'm just seeing if you get the fake knife in.
