This thermostat will be the death of me

Tuesday I stopped by the landlords to explain my problem.....thursday 31 degrees tonight, and its not fixed. Heres my symptoms

Furnace kicks on at 8-10 degrees BELOW what its set at, so if its set at 68, it kicks on at 60-58

Furnace runs until 8-10 degrees HIGHER than its set, so if its set at 68, it shuts off at 76-78

Right now its set at 64, and its now 70 in here....

I'm starting to get a bit tired of sweatshirt on, sweatshirt off, socks on, socks off....

They better show up first thing tomorrow morning...I know she told the maintenance guy cause she called him right up.......

I took the cover off it and vacumed it because they said dust may cause this...I also was told that if its not perfectly level, it will be screwed up...

All I know is I'm not going to be happy about getting up every hour or so to adjust the thermostat so I'm not heating the house to 80 tonight....

Oh, wow! that would drive me crazy. where's a "hot flash" icon when you need one. Lets hope they can fix it right--I've never heard of a thermostat acting like that.

Could you set it at 58? It would kick on at 48 and off at 68? Our kicks on at about what it is set for and goes a few degrees above that before shutting off. But not 10 degrees each way.
