Heather, I hope you meant 12 credits. Yes? :bitelip: :bitelip:

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: For all of you! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
Nope, I meant 12 classes. I have 6 days of 2 classes left. Although actually I remembered that one of the days is only one class, so it's only 11 classes left. I took 4 classes (16 credits) this semester

Ok, I got it. :thumbsup2 :teeth: It will be over soon!

Snow Brite~ Yeah, there are always students like that. Some do really have it together though. It's not always the young ones, it's more apparent because there are more of them. There was a lady (older than me) in one of my classes and two classmates reported her for cheating. She kept asking for their help during tests. :sad2: :sad2:

Back in the 80's, I don't remember seeing as many older students as I see now. Last semester, a classmate harassed me for "help" during a test. It was very stressful trying to concentrate on the test while having a grown woman tapping you on the leg and coughing to get your attention. :sad2: The last straw was when she demanded a copy of my project to turn it in as hers. :rolleyes2 When I told her that I couldn't do that, she asked me in a very indignant tone, "Why not?" I told her that I needed help from the prof because I wasn't too clear on some points. She gave up after I said that. :teeth: She was older than me. BTW, I'm 41. :teeth:

OMG, that is so ridiculous!!! I'm not surprised though. I'm 39 and see stuff like this too.

There's this one woman in my classes, who, last semester turned in a thematic unit (we're education majors) that was nothing but lesson plans printed straight from the internet! It was unreal! She actually passed the class, too, because the professor didn't feel he made it clear enough that it was supposed to be mostly our own work. :sad2: Oh come on. He just wimped out and didn't want a confrontation.

Sounds like it. Won't she have to be a student teacher before graduating? That's when her real test will come. ;) ;)

There are hardly ANY older students at my school. I feel like I stand out like a sore thumb! I did have a GE California Geography class with a woman who was older than me in it. She was cwaaaaaazy. The professor, who was really patient with her, would be talking about native vegetation and she would raise her hand to ask a question. He would call on her and she would ask something off the wall...like what time the final started (which at that point was still many weeks away). He would answer her question and attempt to get back on track when she would start talking about how she couldn't get to school that early in the morning. Ugh! We all had to do presentations in the class and I was looking forward to hers because I thought it would be off the wall but it was totally coherent. At first I thought I had misjudged her, but then realized that someone had to have helped her, there was no way!

Anyhoo....its good to know there are other re-entry (isn't that an awful term?) students here! I feel really alone sometimes! We should start a homework club.

Well, I thought I was done biology. The professor emailed everyone and has one more assignment due today! SUPRISE!

I have an educational portfolio to finish and some reading to do for my other class. I worked on the portfolio all semester, so all I have is one more observation to write up, lesson pictures and clean up work.

I'm an older student as well and I worry about some of these younger students. Like the other student the last time I was in school was 1989/1990. I went back two years ago and have been going since then.. I'm transferiing to a teaching school for the fall semester as a MID JUNIOR!

I'm one of the older students here too. In my class of 60 there at about 10 of us who are 30 and older. Most of the class is around 23-24. We older ones did disproportionately well in grades! :thumbsup2

So what are all of us oldie but goodies majoring in? Sounds like a lot of education majors? I am a Hotel Management Major as that has been my career. I have one year left!

Law. I have 2 years left.

2 years left for you JD? Really? I am seriously thinking about doing this after I graduate and I would be SO interested to know how it has gone for you?!?! You have lived through it I assume? :lmao: How was the LSAT? How did you choose a school? How is it? :teeth:

It's going well. But it is a lot of work. I have a lot of help from my parents with taking care of my kids. The LSAT was not bad, but I did take an expensive prep course. I chose the state school because it is cheaper and at my age I did not want to be taking on $90,000 worth of debt.

I'll be 40 when I have my JD and I'm not the oldest student in my class.

Wow! You are my hero! I would be 40 when I graduate too! I cannot afford the prep course, but I am thinking of doing the online one, and I have a ton of workbooks too.

What are you going to be when you grow up? What kind of job are you looking for? Speciality? What made you choose to do this?

P.S. Thanks for answering my questions!

A lawyer!

One that has regular hours hopefully. Clerk for a judge, or the DA's office. Or anything that pays money.

Why did I do this? I always wanted to be a lawyer, and have always been facsinated by the law, but did not think I was smart enought to be one.
