I will be saving a lot of money this summer because I do not like the clothes that I have been seeing in the stores this season. They look like flashbacks to the early 80's, geometric patterns, pink, brown gold and white or blue, brown, green, etc. I hate them. I didn't like them in the 80's, and I hate them more now. Rachel Ray has worn a couple of tops that resemble the style. I went into Macy's yesterday and if I had $100 to spend, I would have trouble spending it! :scared1:

I actually like the spring clothing.

I've bought way too much lately.

Gotta keep up with the times or I might start looking old. ;)

I was thinking the clothes were more 70's, at least around here they were. In the 80's here it was the preppy look--I can hardly wait for that to come back so I am in style again. I tried shopping a couple weeks ago and couldn't find a thing. Went through the entire Mall of America and another mall in MN and couldn't find a THING. Even DD had a hard time finding something she liked and she is 13.

And here I was thinking it all looked very 1970s bedspreads. I LIKED the 80s clothes. But I'm a little old for all that now. Still, you only live once and if they're coming back I'd like to check them out.

Is 38 too old for Big Hair? I'm thinking NO!!! ;)

What clothes are you finding ugly? What catalog/sites?

I agree but I think they look like the 70's. Some of the styles are ok but the awful patterns on the material....ewww.

All of the loud print, high waist shirt that make everyone look pregnant. They just are NOT attractive on anyone!

Early 80s - you mean leg warmers at the bottom of my jeans are in again!

I haven't liked many of the styles out for the past few years. Blech. I have a hard time finding things that don't scream, " I am a slave to every new trend". I totally agree, I have a hard time finding clothes to spend my money on.

I hate all the patterns and yuck colors too!!! There's a new little resort wear shop in town this year, I think I'll give them a try.
Some days I think the Amish have the right idea....plain clothes!! Although I hate dresses but still some of the new stuff is soooooooooooo old ladyish. Make that blind old ladyish!!

It's a good thing that I don't keep up with clothes that are "in season".

I just buy what's comfortable and couldn't care less if it's "in" right now.

Much easier to shop that way.:thumbsup2

Well... You could always spend that $100 on bras and undies :cool1: :thumbsup2 :cool1:

I totally agree...I have $100 to Nordstrom in gift cards and wanted to get new summer clothes, but couldn't find anything last time I was there. I haven't bought clothes in a WHILE (which has helped out the bank account too haha).

yes thank you to whoever. Thank you for bringing back the ugly 70's clothes. Thank you for bringing back the FREAKING UGLY 70's Maternity clothes! I'll go naked before I wear something with huge orange and green flowers plasterd all over my oversized tummy.

I have liked everything I've seen - but I only shop at a few spots that usually carry mostly classic stuff anyways.

But I did buy a cocktail dress in a trendy print and cut and loved it.

I saw some shirts that were kind of loose (but not baggy) and had the vertical slit at the neck that I kind of liked. They were all in solid colors though.

I'm tired of the itsy bitsy stretchy shirts that have been around for a while. They're fine for teens but not for me!
